Chapter 109: Chapter 108 – Being Biological is a Problem (Third Update)_1
The first ti she ran in the morning, it nearly cost Mu Lin half her life. By now, she didn’t want to move anymore.
The military postures and sparring from the day before hadn’t troubled her, but the mandatory morning exercise she had to do every day really took it out of her.
Canteen.
Aunt Cui had just stepped out of the kitchen when she saw Mu Lin, whose face was a bit pale. Imdiately, she walked over to her.
“What’s wrong?” Aunt Cui asked, looking at Mu Lin with worry in her eyes.
“I’m fine, just a bit exhausted. I just need to rest.” The exercise she had done this morning had already exceeded the amount she would do in several days.
“Every new recruit goes through this when they first join. You’ll get used to it after a few days,” Aunt Cui comforted. As she spoke, she seed to think of sothing and told Mu Lin, “Wait here, I’ll fetch you so breakfast.” Before Mu Lin could respond, Aunt Cui was already hurrying back into the kitchen, leaving Jing Youlan and the rest gaping.
Had they heard wrong? Was the Aunt Cui who was now speaking softly the sa woman with the loud voice they had t before?
They seriously doubted if this was the sa person.
“You really do have the ability to charm everyone you et,” Jing Youlan jealously teased.
“Relax, it’s a charm you can’t emulate,” Mu Lin teased back. Yang Yuebin and the others laughed, leaving Jing Youlan speechless.
He wasn’t going to compare himself with that demon.
Since Aunt Cui was taking care of Mu Lin’s breakfast, the group very considerately decided not to bother her.
In a short while, Aunt Cui ca out of the kitchen, holding a plate and a bowl. In the plate were two buns and two eggs, while another container had sothing Mu Lin couldn’t see until it was put in front of her. It was a bowl of egg soup.
“You should eat while it’s hot. The eggs are from my own chickens in the backyard. They’re completely organic and have a higher nutritional value than the ones you usually eat,” Aunt Cui advised, placing the cutlery in front of Mu Lin. “If that’s not enough, let
know. I can get you more.”
“It’s enough. Thank you.” Mu Lin replied with a helpless smile.
Even though she did need to replenish her energy, did she really look like she could eat that much?
Mu Lin had a small appetite. But maybe because she exercised too much in the morning, she managed to eat the two buns, the soup, and one egg. As for the other egg, Yang Yuebin quickly snagged it, eating so fast he was left in tears.
In the morning, perhaps to give them a break, there were no physical exercises. Instead, they were taught military theories and politics class. Mu Lin found the politics class, which she thought would be boring, even more mind-numbing than she imagined.
She was about to fall asleep.
In the afternoon, they resud training. They practiced different drills; falling in, attention, standing at ease, saluting, and others. This routine repeated itself for more than a week.
…
“Mu Lin, aren’t you supposed to leave tomorrow?” Jing Youlan asked, coming up to Mu Lin after a full day of training.
“Yeah.” She moved her neck around to alleviate so stiffness. “It’s my second acupuncture session. Would you like to co with ?”
“I’d better not.” Jing Youlan quickly waved his hand. It had only been half a month since they arrived at the camp. If he dared to leave now, his grandfather would surely break his legs.
His grandfather was a lot harsher on him than on Mu Lin. Seeing how his own grandfather was so gentle with Mu Lin, outsiders might think she was the one related to him by blood.
Ever since he witnessed his grandfather’s attitude towards Mu Lin last ti, Jing Youlan had been speechless.
