"I thought I told you not to summon ever again," Ramirez scowled as he appeared in the room, his voice dripping with irritation.

His eyes swept across the room, searching for Queen Maeve, only to find her seated with her back turned to him, her foot tapping restlessly against the floor.

He waited for a response, except none ca. The silence stretched for far too long until Ramirez couldn’t stand it anymore. He strode ahead, his anger rising.

"I ant it when I said—" His words caught in his throat as he rounded to face her.

There were tears on her face.

Queen Maeve, the proud and unshakable ruler of the Sumr Court, was crying.

Her perfect mask had cracked, revealing a vulnerability he had never thought possible.

The sight of her tears left him montarily frozen. He had known Maeve for centuries, had seen her face countless battles, betrayals, and political gas, but never had he seen her this broken and exposed, like a mortal woman whose heart had been torn apart.

Ramirez didn’t know what to do. He stood there, frozen by the rawness of the mont, watching the streaks of tears as they rolled down her flawless skin. It unsettled him to his core. He had always admired her strength, her fierce spirit that commanded fear in her enemies. But this... this was sothing else entirely.

Queen Maeve lifted her tear-stained face, her eyes glistening with pain. "No matter what I do," she whispered, "he will never love ."

Ramirez blinked, unsure how to respond. Maeve had never been one to talk of her emotions, much less her unrequited love. He opened his mouth, but no words ca out. How could he comfort her when he himself had always been a pawn in her complicated, twisted love for King Oberon?

"I’m so tired," she sobbed quietly, her body shuddering as the weight of her words hit her. "I don’t think I can do this anymore."

She broke down then, her sobs growing louder and more sorrowful. Ramirez couldn’t bear it any longer. Seeing her so vulnerable, so undone, stirred sothing deep inside of him— a part of him that still cared for her, no matter how much he had tried to bury it.

He moved toward her, kneeling in front of her trembling form, and gently cupped her face. His fingers brushed away her tears, tenderly stroking her cheeks in a way that seed to surprise even him. But his soft touch only made her weep harder, the strong façade she had carried for so long crumbling before him.

Ramirez hesitated for a heartbeat, but then, against all better judgnt, he pulled her into his arms. She collapsed into him, burying her face in his chest as her sobs wracked her body.

Ramirez held her tightly, his arms offering the consolation she so desperately needed, though a part of him scread that this was dangerous.

Dangerous for his heart.

Queen Maeve clung to him, her hands fisting in the fabric of his tunic as she wept. Ramirez closed his eyes, letting her tears soak into his chest as he whispered softly, "It’s alright. I’m here."

It took ti, but eventually, her sobs slowed, and her breathing began to even out. She pulled away from him, her face blotchy and tear-streaked, but sohow still beautiful in a way that left Ramirez breathless. He reached out, wiping away the remaining tears with the pad of his thumb, and their eyes t.

A sudden tension crackled in the air between them. Sothing unspoken, intense and sizzling passed between them in that one glance.

Before either of them could fully process it, they were kissing.

Ramirez didn’t know who moved first, whether it was him or Maeve, but the mont their lips t, it was like a dam breaking.

Months of pent-up frustration and desire, surged to the surface as their kiss deepened, growing more heated with each seconds.

He had sworn to himself that he would walk away from this. That he wouldn’t let her use him again, knowing that in the end, it would be him who was left broken. Maeve would never leave Oberon—her position, her power ant more to her than anything, even love.

But right now, none of that mattered. Right now, Ramirez didn’t care. If all he could have was this mont, he would take it. He would take whatever piece of her she was willing to give, even if it wasn’t enough.

Their hands were suddenly everywhere, pulling, tugging, tearing at each other’s clothes with a frantic urgency. Ramirez groaned against her lips as Maeve’s fingers slid under his shirt, her nails grazing his skin. They barely made it to the bedroom, stumbling and breathless, before collapsing onto the bed in a tangle of limbs.

Ramirez hovered above her for a mont, his eyes darkened with desire as he looked down at her. Maeve was flushed, her breath coming in quick gasps, and her eyes were clouded with the sa lust that coursed through him.

"I should walk away," Ramirez muttered, his voice thick with emotion as he slid inside her, groaning at the way her body clenched around him. "But I can’t."

Maeve moaned, her legs wrapping around his waist as he began to thrust into her, slow and deep. She moved her hips, wanting more.

"Then don’t," she whispered, her voice husky and filled with need. "Stay."

Their bodies moved together in perfect sync, their moans and gasps filling the room as they gave in to their desires. Maeve’s nails dug into Ramirez’s back, drawing blood as she ca closer to her release, her body tightening around him in a way that drove him wild.

Ramirez groaned, his thrusts becoming harder, faster, as he chased his own release. Maeve arched beneath him, her back bowing as she ca with a scream, her pleasure crashing over her like a wave.

The sight of her coming undone beneath him was enough to send Ramirez over the edge, his own climax tearing through him as he buried himself deep inside her.

He collapsed onto her, their bodies still entangled, both of them breathing hard as the aftershocks of their passion slowly ebbed away. For a mont, there was silence, save for the sound of their ragged breathing.

Then, Maeve smiled, a small, satisfied smile, as she turned her head to look at him.

"You haven’t lost your charm," she said, her voice soft and teasing.

Ramirez chuckled, leaning down to capture her lips in another kiss.

However the weight of what they had just done was already beginning to settle heavily on him and he sighed while lying on his back.

The second ti he sighed, Maeve frowned, unable to take it anymore.

"What is it?"

Ramirez t her gaze, communicating the truth he knew she didn’t want to hear. "You know you can leave him, Maeve. You don’t have to stay."

Maeve’s eyes flashed with anger, and she spat a curse under her breath as she pushed him off of her and climbed out of bed, grabbing her robe from her wardrobe.

"Seriously, Ramirez? You had to ruin this mont?"

She wrapped the robe around herself, her movents sharp and irritated, while Ramirez sat up, the sheet still tangled around his waist.

"You’re unhappy here," Ramirez said quietly, watching her carefully.

"Yes, I am," Maeve snapped, tying the robe tightly around her waist. "But I cannot leave. I have sacrificed too much for everything to go to waste now."

Ramirez’s frustration bubbled to the surface. "So what am I then? Your secret lover? Soone you only turn to when you need to blow off steam? Is that all I’m good for?"

With anger, Maeve crawled back onto the bed, pushing him down with surprising force.

"Don’t try to guilt-trip , Ramirez." She warned him. "You knew what this was from the beginning. You knew this would never amount to more."

Her eyes darkened with lust again as she straddled him, grinding her hips against his. "So why are you acting like this now? We could go back to the way things were. Don’t you want more of this?"

Ramirez groaned, his body betraying him as Maeve continued to grind against him. "I should hate you," he muttered through gritted teeth. "You’re using ."

"But you still want ," Maeve whispered, her voice filled with twisted satisfaction. "Don’t you?"

Before Ramirez could stop himself, he was ripping her robe off, the clothe discarded once more as Maeve positioned herself above him and slid down onto him with a gasp.

He groaned, his hands gripping her hips tightly as she began to ride him, her movents fast and demanding.

"Fuck, you feel so good," Ramirez growled, thrusting up into her as she moaned in response.

Maeve gave herself over to the pleasure, her mind consud by the sensation of Ramirez inside her. She didn’t care about anything else. Not Oberon, not about the court, not about the consequences of what she was doing right now.

All that mattered was this mont. This intense, intoxicating pleasure.

But just as they were both nearing the edge, completely lost in each other, a voice from the shadows cut through the air, startling them both.

"Care to make room for another? I bet the sex would be explosive."
