"Aldric is under witchcraft influence," Islinda blunted out as soon as she could speak. That had been one of the most mind-blowing sex she had ever had with Eli. Unfortunately, all good things had to co to an end.
"What?" Eli blinked in confusion.
Islinda steadied her breathing, saying a little bit seriously, "Elena of the Raysin Court has Aldric under so spell, and she is manipulating him against ."
A furrow appeared between Eli’s brows and he got off Islinda, realizing the gravity of the matter. The both of them were naked and the first thing Eli did was to dress up. The wound from where Islinda had stabbed him had healed, but his tunic was still wet with blood. He put it on like that.
Unlike him, Islinda simply sat up, bringing the sheet up to her chest to cover her nakedness. This was her bedroom after all and it was late at night. Aldric was the intruder to have broken into her place at night and attempted to murder her.
Eli was dressed up in no ti and he stood before the bed, arms folded across his chest. He could sit down, but he did not trust himself to keep his hands to himself. The mate bond was growing deeper and he wondered if Aldric had already inford Islinda about the special connection they shared. The asshole had kept him in the dark this entire ti — the sa way he planned to return the favor.
"Why didn’t you tell from the start?" He asked her.
Islinda’s eyes twitched, irked at his statent and it took everything in her to control herself. She wanted to curse him out and maybe hit him in the back of the head for that stupid question when everything had been his fault.
She started out slowly at the beginning with a sweet smile that didn’t touch her eyes, saying. "Who said I didn’t tell you? But you didn’t even let let out a word without nearly tearing my head off!" Islinda snapped at him at the end, unable to contain the frustration building inside of her.
Eli was taken aback by Islinda’s outburst, staring at her in surprise."Oh." He flushed with embarrassnt realizing he was wrong.
Flustered, he apologized, "I’m sorry."
Islinda’s anger faded away at those words. By the gods, Eli was so sweet and had a better character than the pig head, Islinda. But even at that, Islinda couldn’t wish for one without the other. Both personalities had their good sides and flaws. She er... loved them equally. Islinda for the first ti, felt such peace within admitting her true feelings.
"Apology accepted. I guess you’d need the details now." Islinda said, tapping the spot beside her, indicating that he should sit.
Eli expelled a deep, shaky breath at the
tempestuous offer. He didn’t trust himself around Islinda. Even now, he could still inhale her arousal and it was driving him crazy. He felt the need to rut in her. He wanted his na spilling from her sexy, luscious lips as he brought her to worlds alone. He wanted their scents to mingle together and it would be all he ever breathed. He wanted them forever together.
"I don’t bite.." Islinda said, teasing him on purpose when she sensed the hesitation, knowing the reason behind it.
Eli scoffed, rolling his eyes and then walked over to her, occupying the space she had indicated earlier.
"Good kitty," Islinda teased further, even going as far as lifting her hand to pet his head as one would a pet, expecting him to move away in annoyance.
But to her surprise, Eli doesn’t move away. If anything, he closes his eyes and leans into her touch, relishing the feeling especially as Islinda raked her hands through his scalp. It was a very satisfying feeling that had him purring in delight.
Islinda had never seen a hair color as unique as Aldric’s and that’s saying a lot considering the Faeries had varying and bizarre features — according to human standards. She relished his silky strands, watching his features relax, seemingly pleased with her touch.
Islinda knew that she was distracting him from their real mission, but she couldn’t help it. She didn’t realize how much she had missed Eli until now. Not to ntion, now she finally accepted her feelings for him, Islinda wanted to savor every little mont between them.
When Eli opened his eyes, their eyes connected and held and Islinda halted at once. They stared at each other, the mont charged and the bond pushing and pulsing between them. However, Islinda was the first to snap out of it, clearing her throat and withdrawing her hand. Eli missed the gesture and wanted to protest the aching loss, however, there were important issues at hand.
At once Islinda narrated the recent events to Eli, only leaving out the part where Elena had sent a poisonous snake to attack her. Just as she finally made up her mind to acknowledge her feelings for Aldric.
Islinda planned to also tell Aldric about the recent changes she was going through. They just had to get over this crisis and she would co out clean – she would take the risk. From now on, there would be no more secrets between them — at least on her part. Islinda wasn’t close to knowing the nurous secrets Aldric harbored.
"I should have known," Eli said.
"Know what?" Islinda was curious..
"Just as I surfaced, I reached for Aldric’s mind to get all the details I have been missing out on, but I couldn’t. There was so sort of ntal block and even now I cannot reach him without risking him breaking free. He feels detached." He snorted. "Aldric has always been overconfident about his ability, unfortunately, his pride leads to his mistake this ti."
"It’s not too late. We can save him and then you can rub his failure in his face later." Islinda said, an idea forming in her head.
"So what do you need to do? All of this would be over once I kill her right?" Eli said, a dark glint already forming in his eyes.
"No, not for now." Islinda told him, "Elena is related to Queen Maeve and Valerie’s betrothed. I have no doubt that the Fae Queen will have it out for Aldric if you carelessly kill her beloved daughter in law. However, if we can prove that Elena dabbled in the dark arts and chard Aldric, only then can we have our revenge on her. "
A grin ford across Islinda’s lips and she said, "How good are you at pretending to be Aldric?"
