Islinda’s mind was consud by the sudden vision of a naked man beneath a cascading waterfall, she gasped in shock at the explicitness and absurdity of the scene playing out in her head. The jolt of surprise snapped her back to reality just as Valerie intentionally dropped the dishes onto the table with a resounding thud.
Her head jerked up to et Valerie’s deep frown, realizing she had been caught off guard by the startling vision. His scolding tone pierced through the air as he reminded her, "No Wrry cats on the table, Islinda."
The combination of the startling vision and the sudden noise of the dishes crashing onto the table left Islinda feeling disoriented and unsettled. She blinked rapidly, trying to shake off the lingering effects of the vision, and refocusing on the present mont.
As the ntion of Wrry cats crossed her mind, Islinda turned her attention back to Prince Wayne, who remained perched on the table, his gaze fixed on her. A sense of suspicion and fear clouded her eyes as she stared at the cat, unsure of what secrets he might be hiding beneath his feline facade.
Just as tension began to mount between them, Prince Wayne suddenly owed, breaking the silence with a startling sound. Before Islinda could react, he leaned forward and licked her face, catching her off guard and causing her to jerk back in surprise. She nearly lost her balance, but Valerie’s quick reflexes saved her from tumbling out of her seat, his strong hands steadying her just in ti.
Startled and disoriented by the unexpected display of affection from the Wrry cat, Islinda blinked in astonishnt, her heart still racing, and unsure of what to make of Prince Wayne’s behavior.
"Hey," Valerie’s voice carried concern as he reached out, wrapping an arm around Islinda’s side. His eyes reflected genuine worry as he asked, "Are you okay?"
Islinda nodded in response, grateful for Valerie’s support, but as she straightened up, Valerie reluctantly released her, respecting the distance between them.
However, just as the space between them widened, Prince Wayne seized the opportunity to hop onto Islinda’s lap, catching her off guard. A sudden stillness gripped Islinda as she felt the weight of the Wrry cat settle on her, his presence both comforting and unsettling in equal asure.
"Islinda?" Valerie’s concern persisted as he asked again, his gaze probing. "Are you alright?"
Islinda cleared her throat, striving to regain her composure. "Y—yes," she replied, her voice slightly shaky. "I’m fine."
Valerie regarded her with narrowed eyes, unconvinced by her response. His gaze shifted to the Wrry cat, who had nestled himself against Islinda’s side, seeking affection. As Valerie watched the interaction between Islinda and the cat, his suspicions montarily eased. After all, who would suspect such an innocent-looking creature?
Despite her detached state of mind, Islinda found herself unable to resist the cat’s charms. With a resigned sigh, she reluctantly began to pet him, succumbing to his demands for attention. As she stroked his fur, a sense of calm washed over her, montarily easing the tension that had gripped her monts before.
"Fine, if you say so," Valerie relented, ceasing his pressing inquiries. Yet, his gaze couldn’t help but drift towards the cat once more, not out of suspicion, but rather a pang of jealousy.
Valerie wished he was the one receiving Islinda’s affection, longing for the closeness they once shared. Despite their current distance, the sumr Fae prince refused to lose hope. He believed that Islinda’s anger would eventually dissipate with ti, allowing them to return to their forr bond.
Once he freed her from Aldric, Islinda would feel gratitude towards him forever. Perhaps then, she would feel the extent of his dedication and affection for her. Until then, Valerie remained steadfast in his determination to win back her trust and love.
Islinda’s initial desire to assist Valerie in setting up the table had dissipated entirely, as he efficiently took care of the task himself, serving the dishes with practiced ease. anwhile, she found herself unable to tear her gaze away from the prince Wayne , who continued to whine and demand attention like a nagging child.
Perhaps she was thinking too much and the dreams of the demoness that plagued her nights seed to be seeping into her waking monts, fueling her growing suspicion of everyone around her.
As she observed the Wrry cat, a wave of confusion washed over her. Why would soone go to such lengths as to pretend to be a simple cat just to be by her side? The notion seed utterly nonsensical, unlike the manipulative sches of Aldric, who had always harbored ulterior motives from the very start.
Islinda pushed aside the unsettling thoughts that had been troubling her and focused on the present mont. With determination, she began to pet Prince Wayne with the sa passion and affection she had always shown him. She reminded herself that she had chosen Prince Wayne herself, drawn to his charm and personality.
As her fingers traced through his fur, Islinda reaffird her belief that Prince Wayne was simply Prince Wayne—a loyal and beloved companion. She refused to entertain the notion that he could be anything other than what he appeared to be. If he were truly so twisted Fae in disguise, Aldric would have surely known.
With a newfound resolve, Islinda pushed aside her doubts and chose to trust in her instincts. She refused to let the strange visions and suspicions cloud her judgnt or co between her and her cherished bond with Prince Wayne.
As always, Prince Wayne claid a seat all to himself, where he was promptly served his favorite plate of chicken. Islinda couldn’t help but notice his peculiar eating habits—he nibbled at the food whenever she glanced his way, only to devour it greedily when her attention was diverted. It was behavior that seed more akin to a mischievous child than a typical cat. No wonder she suspected him.
Despite the oddity of Prince Wayne’s behavior, they continued to eat in comfortable silence, savoring the al without the need for words. It wasn’t until they reached the end of the al that Valerie broke the silence with a curious statent.
"I found sothing strange in your room this morning," Valerie revealed, his words hanging in the air, prompting Islinda’s curiosity to pique.
"Huh?"
Valerie said, "A pile of sand. It was quite an ominous sight and I just couldn’t hide it and had to bring it up to you. Do you know anything about it?"
Islinda shook her head, "No, I don’t know. But back at Aldric’s castle, one of the maid once complained of such a sight and I think it’s his doing." She looked at Prince Wayne with accusation.
Prince Wayne was caught with a chicken lap between his teeth and paused montarily. Sensing Islinda’s scrutinizing gaze, he dropped the at and swiftly leaped from his seat. Turning his back to her, his tail swished from side to side, conveying an air of indifference as he departed, leaving Valerie and Islinda alone.
Islinda nodded her head with certainty, "It’s definitely his doing."
Valerie smiled and said nothing more. It was not a big deal anyway and he had already cleared the ss. He just needed to be sure it wasn’t sothing more. Valerie glanced up at Islinda with curiosity in his eyes.
The sumr prince was the first to finish with his al and waited for Islinda to be done. However, Islinda already had an inkling of what was to happen after the al. Valerie would interrogate her about yesterday’s incident and she was honestly not ready for that. So Islinda intentionally took all the ti she could, but then, she couldn’t eat on forever.
"I want you to et soone," Valerie said to her instead after the al was cleared.
