Islinda stood for over a minute, her eyes wide with wonder and confusion. The sight before her was unlike anything she had ever seen—a vibrant community of humans living amidst the fantastical world of the Fae.

As she gazed upon the bustling streets and lively activity, a whirlwind of questions swirled through her mind. How had so many humans co to reside in this magical realm? Were they brought here against their will, tricked and torn from their hos in the human world like her? Or had they willingly crossed over the shimring walls that separated the two realms, seeking adventure or refuge in this enchanted land?

And what of the half-breeds, those individuals who bore the blood of both human and Fae? What was it like to straddle two worlds, to belong to neither fully? Did all of them or just a few face discrimination or acceptance within the Fae society? Were they beloved by their Fae parent, or shunned for their human heritage?

As Islinda pondered these questions, she felt a sense of empathy and curiosity stirring within her. She longed to understand the lives and experiences of those who inhabited this unique enclave, to unravel the mysteries of their existence and forge connections with her fellow humans and half-breeds.

Islinda’s mind was literally buzzing. This was too much information to assimilate at once. At the sa ti, Islinda couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief wash over her. Here, among fellow humans and half-breeds, she felt a kinship that had been absent in the otherworldly realm of the Fae. It was a comforting reminder of her humanity in a world filled with magic and mystery. No wonder, the human earlier had not been fazed about seeing her. There were so many of them here that it was no longer surprising.

But the more Islinda observed the region, she couldn’t help but notice a stark contrast to the opulence and grandeur of the surrounding Fae streets she had explored earlier. Here, the buildings were dilapidated, the streets narrower and more crowded, and the atmosphere tinged with an air of poverty and struggle.

Unlike the well-maintained streets and lavish establishnts of the Fae realm, this human district lacked basic facilities and anities. There were no ornate fountains or ticulously manicured gardens, no bustling marketplaces or enchanting boutiques. Instead, Islinda saw rudintary stalls selling ager provisions, and makeshift wells providing water to the residents.

It was evident that life in this area was far from easy, and Islinda couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for its inhabitants. They lived on the fringes of the Fae society, relegated to the margins of this enchanted realm, struggling to eke out a living amidst the abundance and luxury of their Fae counterparts.

Gazing around, Islinda saw makeshift shelters constructed from scraps of wood and tattered cloth, nestled between the towering Fae structures. The inhabitants moved about with weary expressions, so of their clothing worn and threadbare, their faces etched with lines of hardship.

It suddenly hit Islinda at that mont how lucky she had been to encounter Aldric. Although, if the dark Fae prince hadn’t intentionally targeted her, she had no business coming here in the Fae realm in the first place. There was enough propaganda in the human realm that the Fae were cruel and twisted and were hunted down in her own realm.

Islinda felt guilty to have been living a luxurious life in the Fae realm and yet believed she had a miserable life when her kind was having it worse. Who knew she had been blessed all this while and should have counted her blessings?

As Islinda continued to observe, she realized that despite their hardships, the people possessed a resilience and strength that was both admirable and humbling. They may have lacked the privileges and luxuries enjoyed by the Fae, but they persevered nonetheless, forging their own sense of community and solidarity amidst the challenges they faced.

Feeling a mixture of compassion and determination stirring within her, Islinda vowed to learn more about the lives of

her people here, to understand their struggles, and to offer whatever assistance she could. Perhaps with her influence, she could speak to the princes or even the king — the gods help her — and they would do sothing.

And speaking of princes, Islinda realized Valerie had not pointed this place on the map. Did Valerie forget to do so or was this negligence intentionally to prevent her from stumbling here. Islinda clenched her fist in anger. In the end, the Fae could give no damn about the human or half breeds.

Islinda did not care to know if the humans returned the sa gesture of immunity to the Fae or next. Violence could not be solved with violence. For in this mont, amidst the disparity and inequality of the Fae realm, Islinda recognized more the importance of empathy, compassion, and solidarity in bridging the divide between worlds.

It was no wonder that Islinda approached a food stall, her stomach was already grumbling from all the exploration and the human seed easygoing.

"Hello," Islinda waved at her timidly.

"Hello," The young lady responded, her eyes sparkling with kindness and hospitality. She added, her gaze resting on the Wrry cat in her arm, "Beautiful pet you have there. Can I pet it?"

"Urm.... sure," Islinda said, her eyes eting with Prince Wrry and willing him to behave. This was her one chance to bond with a normal human.

Prince Wayne let out what almost sounded like a lazy yawn and beca docile. Fine, anything for his princess. His tail swished from side to side and he was quite an angel as the human reached out and stroked his beautiful snow-white furs.

Laughter bubbled from the human’s throat, "The gods help , he’s so cute I can’t help but want to steal him."

At that statent, the once behaved cat turned aggressive and he bit at her hand but the human reacted in a tily manner by withdrawing at once.

"By the gods, he’s feisty!" The human exclaid, finding the experience thrilling.

"Sorry about that," Islinda apologized, glancing down at the Wrry cat with a warning look, and said, "He can’t be quite possessive."

"Fine, I take back my word. He’s all yours." The human teased, lifting her hands in surrender.

Islinda smiled in appreciation, unconsciously stroking Prince Wayne. She would not let anyone take him either.

The human said, "You are new here."

Islinda’s brows lifted slightly in surprise, "How did you know?"

"You have that look of wonder our kind have whenever they stumble into this settlent for the first ti." She extended her hand, "I am Gabi."

Islinda stared at the outstretched hand for a while before reaching out and enveloped it with her free hand, "Isla."
