Aria pov

I looked up at Jaxon, clearly trying to tell him I was confused. He smiled awkwardly at and turned around before leaving, leaving only in the room.

As I thought about what he had just said, who could this weird person possibly be? I thought, why would he tell to avoid this person as much as possible?

I sat there for a while, thinking about everything, and when I did not find anyone in my mind to be the person. I submitted to sleeping ever since I had woken up because of the text ssage that had scared . And I was unable to sleep again, which was sothing I needed.

I was now feeling very dizzy. I gently lie down on the bed as I shut my eyes to sleep. I knew one of them would return, either Tim or Jaxon so I needed to rest and get ready for all their argunts.

Jaxon pov

I knew I was ant to explain to Aria, and honestly, I wanted to, but yet again, my phone beeped, and I was more than sure it was Rachel. I dashed outside the door, only to check the caller ID, and it was Rachel. I felt so frustrated that I felt like slamming the phone to the ground, but I could not do it.

I breathed in and out, and soon, the nervousness was reduced before I picked up the call.

I knew waiting a second late would get multiple ssages from Rachel claiming I was trying to avoid or run away from her. At first, she did not see anything until I responded.

She giggled before answering ," I thought you weren’t going to pick up."

I felt so frustrated because she always used this particular word. Yes, I hated her so much, but that doesn’t an I will continue to avoid her. I decided I was going that she kept claiming I would avoid her call, but before I could ask her, she spoke up again.

"I know you are tired of telling you that you are not going to pick up my call; it’s just that I don’t want to be in a situation where I have to do things you do not want just to get you by my side. Do you understand, and that is why I call you frequently. I call you every two hours just to be sure you are there."

If it was Aria who had said sothing like this, then I would have gotten moved a bit, but I felt so neutral when Rachel said it.

"Yeah, it is fine; there is no need to propel it or make it longer than it already is. I understand why you are feeling so. You are scared that I might not keep to my promise after you saved from jail, but you know the kind of person I am. I don’t just bail out on things like that after you did such a huge favor." I said to her.

She began to laugh so loudly that I feared soone passing by might even hear it through the core as I slowly walked down the hallway just to be as far away from Aria as possible.

I wouldn’t want her listening to a sound of Rachel at this mont, she still trusted so much, and anything or mistake from could make us go our separate ways After she still doubted for the five days I went absent despite what happened to her.

"Why are you laughing like a crazy bitch" I said to Rachel And she stopped.

"I am laughing because I just feel so overjoyed that I have more power and control over you," she said and I rolled my eyes even though I knew she could not see it.

Now, she had the upper hand against and could control , but she didn’t know all those things would be limited. I have my ways I just don’t want her causing trouble for Aria.

If not for Aria, I wouldn’t have even kept her number this long. I stepped out of her mansion. I would have deleted the number and deleted anything about her, but I was acting so cool just because I wanted to protect Aria.

As my stepmother’s stepson, I felt it was my duty to protect her.

I soon noticed the doctor hurriedly walked past the hallway with a wide smile, While Rachel was on the phone muttering incomprehensible words about annoying things and called it Gist, I silently followed the doctor down the hallway to his office.

I always preferred Aria over other girls because she was neutral and free-spirited, and never talked about money or status.

Rachel was on the phone with , but all I did was nod and say yes or no to her words as I followed the doctor. When I got to his office, I noticed he was alone and not busy as he counted so money.

I moved away from the door so he wouldn’t see and decided to end the call with Rachel. "I’m going now; I need to see soone talk later," I said to her. She then asked who the person was that I needed to see so badly, but I didn’t want to answer her question.

I didn’t have ti for her petty jealousy. "We will talk later; that is it," I said before ending the call and entering the doctor’s office. However, the way he hid the money made suspicious.

"What are you doing here? You couldn’t knock?" the doctor said angrily. But my attention was on the paper in his hand, it had Aria’s na and needed her signature.

"Why.." I was about to ask why he needed her signature but decided to keep quiet, I was going to find out one way or the other.

"I ca to finalize everything" I muttered as I took my seat.
