Lin Jie sent Huo Guangheng and Lulu away, and called Xiao Ganghao, who was waiting outside, in.

Taking a glance at him, Lin Jie noticed that his spirits seed to have improved; he didn't look as gloomy as he did a few days ago. Casually, he asked, "So, what brings you here? I hope it's good news."

Xiao Ganghao scratched the back of his head, a bit embarrassed, and said, "I'm sorry for troubling you, teacher."

"Teacher, after constant persuasion from my uncle, my mother finally agreed to the conditions Manqing proposed. We will live separately and not together."

"Hmm… during festivals, we will spend them together."

This is considered good news, and Lin Jie felt a sense of relief wash over him.

He sighed lightly and said, "Though it's not the best solution, at least there's an outco."

"Perhaps over ti, as they understand each other more, your mother will truly accept Manqing."

"Do you have any plans for the next step?"

Xiao Ganghao hesitated for a mont before suddenly saying, "Teacher, I want to propose to Manqing. Getting married a bit sooner and settling down might prevent complications and help my mom let go of other ideas."

"Teacher, what do you think?"

Lin Jie responded with an "Oh," and said, "This is sothing you have to decide on your own, I don't really have any good suggestions."

At this point, he suddenly felt a surge of irritation and reproached in a dissatisfied tone, "Xiao Ganghao, you're more than ten years older than , your life experience should be much richer, right?"

"From now on, aside from dical issues, handle all these trivial matters yourself, don't co asking ."

Seeing him nodding obediently, Lin Jie irritably instructed, "Xiao Ganghao, rember to pass on my words one by one to the others, got it?"

"Got it, teacher. If there's nothing else, I'll head out first."

After saying this, Xiao Ganghao didn't wait for Lin Jie's response and sheepishly turned around and ran out of the room.

Imdiately, Lin Jie heard a greeting from outside, "Dean Cheng, hello!"

"Expert Lin, who told you to be their teacher?"

Cheng Xingguang laughed as he walked in and teased, "A teacher for a day, a father for life, it's not just empty words."

He examined Lin Jie's youthful face and couldn't help but lant, "Expert Lin, you can't really bla them."

"Your absolute authority in dical skills makes us unconsciously overlook your age, and also makes us assu that you're equally excellent in other areas."

"In other areas, I'm quite lacking, perhaps even weaker than peers my age." Feeling helpless, Lin Jie modestly admitted for once, and sat on the sofa with Cheng Xingguang.

"Thank you!"

Cheng Xingguang accepted a cup of hot tea from Jian Jia and smiled, "You aren't weak in every aspect."

"For example, in languages, you're quite impressive, your English and German are practically native-level."

"Another example, your driving skills are as good as a professional racer!"

"Also, I heard you play the saxophone quite well too."

Lin Jie chuckled and said, "Dean Cheng, did you co over just to praise ?"

Cheng Xingguang also laughed, took a sip of tea, put down the teacup, and said, "The hospital has received many invitations, congratulatory phone calls, emails, and so on."

"Besides these, we've also received several consultation requests and patient help requests from both dostic and overseas."

After gaining fa, so situations inevitably arise, just like the day before the surgery when that boy with a severe brain injury ca looking for help.

Lin Jie responded with an "Oh" and softly said, "These matters, you all handle them as you see fit."

He then asked, "Dean Cheng, was there any information found about the mother and son who ca before the surgery?"

Cheng Xingguang shook his head and said, "Nothing useful was found."

"All that was found was that at the Red Cross Hospital, a nurse sympathized with the mother and suggested that seeking you for treatnt might offer a glimr of hope."

Lin Jie understood that finding sothing in such situations was difficult.

A mother who loves her child so dearly would seize even a one-percent or thousandth-of-one-percent chance of success.

Cheng Xingguang sighed softly, "From the results, the handling of that matter can be considered appropriate. Not only did you not receive criticism, but even more people ca to understand and appreciate your aspirations and ambitions."

"With that in mind, such things are less likely to happen so easily in the future."

Lin Jie noncommittally replied, "Hopefully so."

Cheng Xingguang paused and continued, "Expert Lin, the purpose of my visit is to discuss the matter of going to Heidelberg University Hospital."

"Those going include myself, Wei Haiyuan from the office, Dr. Jiang Hao from Neurosurgery, Dr. Lei Jun from Orthopedics, Dr. Pang Leshan from Cardiac Surgery, making a total of six of us."

Since Shen Lanruo had studied at Heidelberg University in Germany, Lin Jie was sowhat familiar with Heidelberg University Hospital.

This hospital has a history of over 400 years and has produced eight Nobel laureates in Physiology.

Today, it has developed into a large comprehensive dical center that includes fifteen specialist hospitals, forty-three departnts, eleven dical research institutes, and employs over ten thousand staff.

Neurosurgery, cardiology, and orthopedics are relatively strong fields at Heidelberg University Hospital.

However, due to its location, the hospital's developnt has been heavily dragged down by the city it resides in.

Though Heidelberg, Germany, has a long history and beautiful scenery, it is just a small city with a population of a few hundred thousand, unable to provide more support for the developnt of Heidelberg University Hospital.

Its developnt speed is limited, and in the past two decades, it has been overtaken by several hospitals in large cities such as Berlin and Munich. Currently, it ranks fifth in Germany.

"We will be taking a plane at 11:30 on Sunday morning from Binhai International Airport, first arriving in Frankfurt, and then driving to Heidelberg."

"We'll probably arrive at the hotel by around 7 PM local ti."

Cheng Xingguang advised again, "Around that ti, the climate in Heidelberg is relatively more damp and cold compared to here, so bring more clothes and dress warmly."

Lin Jie replied softly, "I'll keep that in mind."

After giving so small reminders, Cheng Xingguang changed the subject and asked, "Expert Lin, are you graduating from the dical College this sester?"

Lin Jie nodded, "Yes! According to the plan, Anlin Hospital will be operational by the end of June, and by then there will be no ti..."

As he said this, he suddenly realized sothing and said, "Ah, I forgot all about the graduation thesis."

"I even told Song Licheng, Zeng Yang, and the others to write their theses well, and yet I forgot that my master's thesis hasn't been written."

Cheng Xingguang chuckled, "For you, this master's thesis is just a matter of a few days..."

He pondered for a mont and suggested slowly, "Hmm..."

"Expert Lin, it's best not to deal with your master's thesis perfunctorily, and don't just use previous research results to write the thesis."

Cheng Xingguang couldn't help but laugh, "Your reputation now is really too big, it's no exaggeration to say you're the center of attention."

"This graduation thesis of yours will definitely be looked into by many people."

"If it's written rather ordinarily, or I should say, if this thesis doesn't have eye-catching research findings, it will surely disappoint many people."

"Expert Lin, I suggest you treat this master's thesis as if it's a doctoral thesis!"

Lin Jie said with a troubled expression, "It's almost March now, and generally, the graduation defense is in April or May. There's no ti to choose a project, conduct research, or gather experintal data."

Cheng Xingguang gleefully said, "If it were soone else, I would definitely suggest postponing graduation."

"But for you, Expert Lin, it's not a big deal at all."

"I wouldn't be surprised if you wrote a high-quality thesis in one or two weeks."

"Another piece of advice — you've been selected for the Health Commission's 'Hundred Talents Program' and can apply for research funding to support your graduation project research."

Lin Jie said helplessly, "I'm not worried about research funding, it's mainly that I have no inspiration for a topic. This is not sothing that cos to mind with a snap of the fingers."

Cheng Xingguang picked up his cup of tea, drank it all in one go, stood up, and laughed, "As always, you're Expert Lin, this is nothing for you."

"Hey, Expert Lin, this tea I'm drinking is quite good, where did you buy the tea leaves?"

The tea leaves Lin Jie was drinking were given by An Weize's current girlfriend, Zhai Siying, so they were naturally good tea leaves.

However, he wasn't a tea enthusiast, so he was also fine with drinking plain water.

Lin Jie had Jian Jia split half of the tea leaves to give to Cheng Xingguang. After seeing him off, he returned to his seat and pondered the thesis topic.

"Neurosurgery? Cardiology? Nerves? ENT? Viscera? Bones..."

In his mind, he flashed through one major field after another, along with the minor directions they covered, and many possible topics erged.

Lin Jie thought about these topics for a bit and imdiately shook his head.

These topics were either unsolved century-long challenges or required a massive investnt of ti and resources for confirmatory research to obtain experintal results.

After thinking for a long ti, Lin Jie could not co up with a spirited topic with significant application or inspirational value and that could be resolved within a short ti fra.

"Damn, everyone's expectations are too high, making feel so much pressure."

Lin Jie rubbed his brow and thought sowhat defeatistly, "Maybe I should just write a random thesis to get by? It's just a master's thesis, not a doctoral thesis."

Of course, that was just a thought.

If he truly did it that way, not to ntion the strict Shen Lanruo would definitely be very unhappy, he couldn't get past the hurdle in his heart either.

Having always been strict with others, he couldn't relax his standards for himself.

While Lin Jie was distressed, another visitor arrived, Xiang Rong, the editor-in-chief of the "Clinical dicine" magazine.

Upon seeing him, Lin Jie rembered that he had previously promised him to do a special interview after the successful craniotomy separation surgery on conjoined twins.
