"Lin Jie!"
As Li Ting walked out of the teaching building, she imdiately spotted Lin Jie waiting for her in front of the building, his signature oversized down jacket almost wrapped around his entire body.
Today was the last day of Li Ting's final exams. Once today's exam was over, the joyful winter holiday would officially begin.
Li Ting shouted and jogged into Lin Jie's arms, put her hands into his pockets, and asked with a smile, "Have you been waiting long?"
"Not too long. I tid it right to co from the clinic!"
Lin Jie pinched Li Ting's ear and helped her put on the hood of her down jacket, "Do you need to go back to the dorm to get anything?"
Li Ting wrapped her arm around Lin Jie's, nodded, and said, "Yes, I need to get so change of clothes, let's go!"
Just as the two were about to leave, Lin Jie suddenly noticed about ten ters ahead, a stylishly dressed, elegant lady in a woolen winter dress and long boots with a sowhat flamboyant long scarf, smiling while watching him and Li Ting.
Lin Jie could confirm he didn't know her, so he turned Li Ting's head slightly and asked softly, "Soone's been watching us. Do you know her?"
Following Lin Jie's guidance, Li Ting turned her head and saw the lady, her eyes lighting up before she ran over to her, releasing Lin Jie.

Laughing happily, Li Ting hugged the lady's arm and introduced Lin Jie, "Aunt, this is my boyfriend Lin Jie. After the Spring Festival, he'll be a dical graduate at this university."
Only then did Lin Jie notice that this aunt indeed bore a resemblance to Li Ting's mother, Zhou Xuehui.
Li Ting had ntioned to him before that this aunt was nad Zhou Xuei and had stayed in the United States after going to university there.
Zhou Xuei had opened several authentic Chinese herbal stores, mainly selling prepared Chinese patent dicines and assorted brewed tonics.
With the support of the Zhou Family in Binhai City, although the prices are high, the products are genuine, making the Chinese dicine business quite successful and well-received by local Asians and so Westerners!

Li Ting, delighted yet puzzled, asked, "Aunt, why did you co back from the United States so early this year? Is there sothing important you need to handle?"
"It's because of you!"
Zhou Xuei pinched Li Ting's nose affectionately and said, "Everyone said you successfully lost weight, making curious, but you wouldn't send any photos. And you stopped video-calling too."
"So, after finishing up work, I ca back as quickly as I could to see you first!"
She released Li Ting, stepped back, and looked at her with a bit of excitent, "If I didn't rember what you looked like when you were little, I almost wouldn't recognize you now."
"It's like your old self split into two people, and you've beco even more beautiful!"
Li Ting spun around, posed gracefully, and boasted, "Aunt, I only weigh one hundred and nineteen pounds now, less than half of what I used to weigh! Hehe..."
After saying this, she affectionately linked arms with Zhou Xuei again.
Zhou Xuei sighed, "You're the only one in the family who beca unexpectedly chubby, yet no one realized it was due to a pituitary tumor causing abnormal growth hormone secretion. We really owe Lin Jie a lot for this realization!"

With one arm linked with Zhou Xuei and the other with Lin Jie, Li Ting chattered happily all the way to her dormitory building!
"I'll go pack up my room real quick, be right back!" With that, Li Ting jogged into the dormitory building.
Turning to Lin Jie, Zhou Xuei's face grew serious, and she said in a solemn tone, "Tingting has told a lot about you. I know she genuinely likes you. However, I feel that you might not truly like her!"
Lin Jie was taken aback and said, "Aunt, why do you say that?"
Zhou Xuei spoke softly, "I know you have good dical talent, so you must have a clear understanding of your situation! I believe in true love; if you can't give her lasting happiness, you should learn to let go!"
Before Lin Jie could respond, she continued, "Tingting has complained to before: she didn't receive a gift from you on her birthday, Christmas, or New Year's."
"If you truly like and love her, you'd naturally keep her in your heart at all tis. How could you forget to give her gifts on these important days?"
"This..." Lin Jie was montarily speechless,
He really couldn't explain or refute her words, as he indeed hadn't given Li Ting gifts on those three days.
Li Ting's birthday was in August, when they were only friends. Plus, Lin Jie was quite sensitive about birthdays, so naturally, he didn't think of giving her a birthday gift.
As for Christmas and New Year's, Lin Jie was excited, preparing so romantic plans, but Li Ting unexpectedly had other plans, which frustrated him.
Regarding gifts, over the years, the Lin Family siblings had received clothes, food, and such from neighbors but almost never any dedicated holiday gifts.
