"Dr. Lin, here's a peace apple for you, wishing you a safe and smooth new year!" Zhu Zhenzhen handed a big red apple to Lin Jie with a cheerful smile.
Lin Jie sized her up, her fluffy long hair made her face look a bit petite, and she wore a barely-there light makeup. Despite wearing just jeans and a light-colored turtleneck sweater, she exuded a strong sense of youthful energy.
This was how a university student should dress and present, Lin Jie thought as he accepted the apple and said, "Thank you, and I wish you all the best in the new year too! It's Christmas Eve today, do you have any plans?"
Before she could reply, Lin Jie hastily added, "I'll be having dinner and watching a movie with my girlfriend, I'm sure it won't be hard for you to find a male classmate to spend the evening with!"
As the daughter of a colleague, soone you see frequently, Lin Jie thought it best to nip any notions she might have in the bud!
Zhu Zhenzhen paused for a mont, then forced a slight smile, "Soone as outstanding as Dr. Lin must have a beautiful girlfriend. Could I see a photo of her?"
Lin Jie, of course, had photos of Li Ting, including so of them together, on his phone. He opened his photo album and handed it to her.
Zhu Zhenzhen flipped through quickly, then placed the phone back on the desk, saying, "You two look really well-matched, it's enviable!"
Having said that, she hurriedly left the room.
About ten minutes later, Zhang Daya ca to the office again, also holding a shiny red apple!
"Dr. Lin, here's a peace apple for you! I thought this symbolism was nice, so I took advantage of my lunch break to buy a good one from the supermarket. This isn't re-gifting!"

Lin Jie just laughed, saying, "Peace apples are sold for their symbolism and looks, not for eating!"
Zhang Daya giggled, moved a bit closer to Lin Jie, her eyes glowing with gossip, and quietly asked, "I saw Zhu Zhenzhen leave the clinic looking unsettled!"
"Dr. Lin, is it that..."
Not wanting her to jump to conclusions, Lin Jie pointed to another apple on the desk, saying, "She ca over to give a peace apple. I accepted it and told her I'd be having dinner with my girlfriend tonight and asked about her plans. That's the truth!"
Zhang Daya made an 'oh' sound, her eyes twinkling with excitent as she eagerly asked, "Li Ting, Miss An, or soone else?"
"Li Ting!" Lin Jie glared at her, retorting.
Zhang Daya giggled, saying, "I figured it was Li Ting. She's pretty, healthy, and a student at Binhai University, perfect match for you."
Lin Jie dismissively waved his hand, saying, "Get back to your post on the first floor, there might be a patient coming to pick up dicine."
"Dr. Lin, a little reminder, Zhu Zhenzhen might not give up so easily you know. These days people can be quite unruly, even marriages don't prevent poaching, let alone a girlfriend without any legal ties."
Having said that, Zhang Daya laughed and ran out.
In the afternoon, a pair of injured young n in their twenties ca to the clinic, having fought one-on-one over the right to date a girl that night!
Judging by their injuries, the battle seed quite brutal!
One had half his left ear torn, a broken nose, and a black eye, while the other had two front teeth knocked out, a three-centiter cut on his face, a fractured little finger, and a dislocated right arm!
Lin Jie treated their wounds and couldn't help but ask, "With injuries like this, can you still go on a date tonight?"
Both of them fell silent!

Feeling bored and disappointed, seeing it was just after eight, he decided to find Lin Miao, just in case she was persuaded to drink by soone.
After driving for more than an hour and changing into so relatively trendy clothes, Lin Jie arrived at Fengshan Road, where Binhai City's bars were gathered, parked in front of a bar called Night Charm.
Though not yet the peak bar ti, at this particular holiday, a line had already ford outside Night Charm Bar, waiting to get in.
Perhaps the bar bouncers had sharp eyes and recognized Lin Jie's car, so he was allowed to enter directly without waiting!
As the heavy tal doors opened before him, strong music beats hit Lin Jie, pounding his heart like a sledgehamr, making his blood boil.
Simultaneously, a wave of heat mixed with alcohol and perfu enveloped him as if stepping into a sizzling realm!
Lin Jie surveyed the bar, filled with people!
Everywhere were gleaming arms and legs; so won wore extrely revealing outfits, looking like they only had a few pieces of fabric barely covering anything!
