The next morning, as soon as he stepped into the first-floor diagnostic hall of the clinic, Lin Jie was startled!
The usually deserted hall was now bustling, filled with twenty or thirty people. All the seats for intravenous drips were occupied, and a few more people had to use office chairs brought in from the office.
Zhu Heping was treating patients, while Zhang Daya weaved through the crowd, busily delivering dicine and administering injections.
Lin Jie went over to Zhu Qiang and helped him insert the needle into the frail arm of an elderly person!
Zhu Qiang wiped the fine sweat from his forehead and said admiringly, "Dr. Lin, you're amazing. You got it in the vein in one go, whereas I stuck quite a few tis without success!"
Lin Jie replied calmly, "Just practice more regularly and pay more attention. Zhu Qiang, why are there so many patients suddenly today? Did sothing happen?"
Zhu Qiang chuckled bitterly, "It's all because of that lavish dinner last night. Many elderly and children overate and got stomach problems."
"There are also those with allergies, colds from catching a chill; and a few had too much to drink, got into drunken fights, injuring others and themselves."
"Since midnight, the number of patients at the clinic began to increase, and we've been busy ever since. Fortunately, it's all minor ailnts, so we've managed to handle it."
Lin Jie nodded and was about to go upstairs to change when a pretty figure dashed in front of him, sweetly greeting, "Good morning, Dr. Lin!"
"Good morning, Zhu Zhenzhen!" Lin Jie responded politely.
Zhu Zhenzhen, in a white coat, holding several packs of saline solution for IV drips, said, "The clinic suddenly got busy, and since I was resting at ho, I ca over to help."
"Thank you! I'll go upstairs to change, and I'll be down shortly!"
Patients gradually left, and new ones continued to arrive.
Lin Jie, like a diligent junior doctor at the clinic, worked with Zhu Heping to diagnose patients and prescribe dication.
Since most patients were elderly and children with hard-to-find veins, and Zhu Qiang and Zhang Daya's injection skills were diocre, Lin Jie also filled in as a nurse, helping with injections.
And Zhu Zhenzhen stayed mostly around Lin Jie, handling tasks like fetching and packing dicine, disinfecting patients' arms, and comforting crying children!
This wave of patients didn't settle down until almost noon.
Zhang Daya handed over a perfectly warm cup of tea, saying, "Dr. Lin, have so water!"
"I heard last night's dinner was arranged on a whim by the Luo Family. They plan to officially hold a grand feast in a few days, inviting everyone in Zhujia Port for a three-day banquet. We'll probably be busy again then."
Zhu Zhenzhen chid in, "That's for sure. Although life is better now, the lobsters, shark fins, and abalone at last night's dinner aren't things ordinary people can have."
She laughed, covering her mouth, "Maybe once a lot of people find out the exact ti of the next invitation, they'll intentionally leave a day or two's worth of stomach space! Perhaps by then, the clinic will be even busier."
Lin Jie drank a few sips of water and said, "Probably not! The elderly and children's stomachs are weak, getting caught unprepared is normal. Having learned from this experience, they'll likely take it easy next ti, and at least take so preventive asures."
"Let's hope so!" Zhang Daya remarked without much hope!
She suddenly tapped her own head, saying, "Ah... In the rush, I forgot to tell you!"
"Shanshan called early, saying she would be busy helping her father with so things for a few days. If there's nothing urgent at the clinic, she won't be coming over for now."
Lin Jie chuckled and said, "Got it, it's not like there are ever really important matters at the clinic!"
Zhu Qiang flattered, "Exactly, with you here, Dr. Lin, even major issues beco trivial."
Seeing that there were still six people on IV drips in the hall and no new patients arriving, Lin Jie said, "Alright, it's not busy right now, and it's lunchti. You all go have lunch!"
As Zhu Zhenzhen was about to speak, Zhang Daya hurriedly said, "Dr. Zhu, Zhenzhen, Zhu Qiang, you all go eat first. Dr. Lin and I will hold the fort here."
Lin Jie rembered he needed to attend Han Wenbin's engagent party in the evening, so he quickly said, "Dr. Zhu, I have sothing to deal with in the evening. After lunch, you can go ho to rest and co back in the evening!"
"No problem, Dr. Lin, feel free to take care of your matters!"
After saying this, Zhu Heping stood up and left. Zhu Zhenzhen glanced at Lin Jie and followed, with Zhu Qiang tagging along eagerly.
Once they left the clinic, Zhang Daya ca close to Lin Jie and said softly, "Dr. Lin, watch out for Zhu Zhenzhen, don't be beguiled by her, she must have ulterior motives for approaching you."
Lin Jie just smiled and jokingly asked, "Why do you say that? I didn't notice her having any special interest in ."
Zhang Daya pinched her earlobe sowhat embarrassedly and said, "Haven't I been to your house? I'm the type who can keep a secret if told to, but if not explicitly told, well... I can't keep it."
"A few days ago, Zhu Zhenzhen looked for and started chatting about the clinic."
"I didn't pay much attention and told her about so of your things, like your luxurious apartnt and the seemingly modest car that's worth over a million."
She glanced at Lin Jie, and seeing no sign of displeasure on his face, she got bolder and angrily exclaid, "Looking back, she was definitely trying to pry information out of during that chat."
"Before, Zhu Zhenzhen would occasionally co to the clinic just to drop off a al, leave imdiately, and not stay a minute longer!"
"Yesterday afternoon, she specially brought us sushi, and this morning she ca over to help! It's fine if she wants to help, but she's not helping her dad; she's hovering around you instead."
With a serious face, Zhang Daya warned, "Dr. Lin, she's got you in her sights. You must be careful not to give in to her."
Lin Jie restrained his laughter and said, "Got it, I'll be vigilant. But don't think so badly of others; maybe she's approaching to learn dical skills."
Zhang Daya smirked, "Dr. Lin, I grew up with Zhu Zhenzhen, and although we weren't close friends, I know her quite well."
"Even though her grades were decent, her..."
Zhang Daya pointed to her heart and said disdainfully, "Her ambitions have always been high, yearning for a high-class life, looking down on people like us. She's a very calculating and ambitious person."
Throughout the afternoon, Zhu Zhenzhen didn't return to the clinic, and Lin Jie had a relatively laid-back ti.
However, just when it was almost ti to close, Zhu Zhenzhen showed up with a backpack alongside Zhu Heping. She smiled and said, "Dr. Lin, I'm heading back to school, mind giving a lift?"
This small request was naturally not sothing Lin Jie would refuse.
Throughout the ride, they simply chatted casually about everyday topics and a few dical issues without touching on anything suggestive.
Lin Jie dropped Zhu Zhenzhen off at Binhai University and then drove straight ho!
Last night, Li Ting had already agreed to et him at the apartnt to go together to Xiaoxiao's engagent party!
