Raelle had no idea what was coming her way as she was too busy having fun with Shui Xian. She took him around the whole estate and showed him each and every place. Raelle didn't think she had taken such a ho tour herself ever before. But she was willing to do it for Shui Xian now.
She even brought him to her favorite place where she spent most of her ti. And it wasn't that difficult to guess what her favorite place was. Yes, it was a library. Once she pushed open the tall and grand double doors, Shui Xian almost gasped at the sight before him. He felt like he was stepping into the scene of Beauty and the Beast. This huge library with rows and rows of bookshelf reminded him of that scene from his childhood when he watchcd Beauty and the Beast sitting with his sister.
Who knew that he'd get to see the real-life scene here?"
There were stairs going to the second floor which was also covered with books. Shui Xian felt his head spinning just looking at these books.
"Have you read all the books here?" Although he felt like his question was redundant, he still wanted an answer right now. "Yeah," replied Raelle making Shui Xian place a hand over his chest.
"How?"
Raelle looked confused by his question, "It wasn't that difficult."
"I should not ask such dumb questions. It shows the gap between our IQs."
Raelle chuckled, "What are talking about? My IQ has nothing to do with this. While you were learning so extracurricular hobbies, making friends, or having fun, I was just sitting here reading books. That's the only difference between the two of us. Since my only interest was in books, I could patiently sit here for days without feeling tired. But you had so many things going on in life, how can you spend that much ti on books like these."
Although he felt like she was trying to comfort him, Shui Xian still agreed with her words because it was exactly as she said just now. He really had so many interests and hobbies in life. But Raelle's genuine interest always lied in these books. So, he shouldn't be so shocked that she managed to read them all.
"Isn't it beautiful?" asked Raelle. "I really loved it here."
Shui Xian slled the sll of books in the air and smiled at her, "It sure is beautiful. I have never seen anything like this before. At least, I haven't seen a ho library like this ever before." He was talking the truth. He only saw so many books in the public library or the university library. Even the people who wanted to build an image of intellectuals only had a couple of bookshelves in their studies. Who could really managed such a grand scene like this apart from Raelle?
Or maybe he should give the credit to Mu Chenyan and Grandfather Xiang who managed to find so many books for Raelle. When he shared it with her, her answer actually surprised her.
"Half of the books here are left by my Grandma," she told him. "The other half are gathered by Opa and Yanyan. But I heard that my Grandma was the one who liked collecting books. So strange and obscure books that had been lost in history. She always wanted those even if she never read them."
"She would have never thought that she'd be leaving all these to her own granddaughter who would know the value of these books and cherish them so much. She must be very happy to see this."
"I also think so," agreed Raelle. She pulled him towards the second floor and took out an old book carefully opening it in front of him. "Look here. They talk about the treasures in this one."
"You believe it?"
"I also think so," agreed Raelle. She pulled him towards the second floor and took out an old book carefully opening it in front of him. "Look here. They talk about the treasures in this one."
"You believe it?"
"I didn't want to but..." "But?"
"But I found a map."
"What?" Shui Xian was shocked when he heard this. "Or should I say that my grandma found the map? Anyway, it was inside one of the books. It looked like an ordinary paper but once you put it in front of the fla, it shows a secret map. I did not expect that at all."
"Did you go treasure hunting?"
"Who has ti for that?"
"Didn't you tell others about it?"
"Nope!" answered Raelle. She didn't feel like sharing so she didn't share. She didn't lie but she chose not to share either. She wasn't obsessed with adventure or treasures. She had everything available so why would she go looking for an unknown treasure in this vast world? She was better off staying in her library and reading a few more books at that ti.
Shui Xian laughed and he actually understood her thoughts too. Then Raelle took him around showing him interesting findings from different books. He had to marvel at his wife's mory as she not only knew which book it was but also where it was placed. It was clear from this just how familiar she was with this place and every single book placed inside here.
....
"Are you mad?" asked Mu Chenyan to Xia Zhao whom she found outside drinking wine during the day. Xia Zhao glanced at her and shook his head, "No, why would I be mad?"
"Because of what I said earlier," ntioned Mu Chenyan. "I thought you'd be mad about that."
"But I am not mad about it. It might have hurt a little but that's okay. I got over it."
"Then why are you drinking here?"
"Why can't I drink?" he questioned. "I asked you if I can help and you said there is nothing for to worry about. Since I have nothing to do, I decided to just drink so wine."
"Alone?"
"I wasn't alone. Fai, Wai, and Weimin were all here with . They just left to make plans to trip Raelle. Since they didn't want to know the details of their plans, I was left here alone."
Mu Chenyan frowned, "What are they up to now?"
"Let them be. It's a wedding ho, so there should be so pranks. Why are you worrying about this so much? How can others know there is a wedding happening if there is no trouble?"
Mu Chenyan narrowed her eyes at him, "You want trouble now?"
"Trouble is not all bad," said Xia Zhao. "Are you free now? If you are, you can have a drink with too."
"It's too early for this," said Mu Chenyan but she still snatched the glass from his hand to drink the wine. "You really know how to choose a good wine."
"That's true. I do know how to choose so good wine." He was smiling as he looked at her drinking the wine from his glass. "By the way, you didn't answer . Are you free now?"
"I have seen all the arrangents for now and have given all the orders too. For now, I'm free. Why are you asking?"
"Then let's go. We should also pick a horse and have so fun. What do you say?"
"Will my humble horses be able to satisfy your noble self?"
Xia Zhao ignored her sarcasm and replied, "I don't know about if I'd be satisfied with the horses but I sure am more than satisfied with the company. If you are coming along, why would I care about other things."
Mu Chenyan put her lips on the rim of the goblet, hiding her upturned lips from him. He was getting better and better at talking while she kept losing this ga. She tried to straighten her expression but it wasn't working. With the way his dark eyes just looked at her, she already couldn't stop smiling. It was such a strange experience for her. But she enjoyed every minute of it otherwise she wouldn't have agreed to get a marriage certificate with him. "Let's go. I'll find you a good horse," said Mu Chenyan. "Later on, don't complain about it."
"I don't complain," replied Xia Zhao. "When have I ever done that?"
Mu Chenyan held his arm and took him towards the stables saying, "Co with . I need to introduce you to others to let them know that you are my husband. No one should ignore my husband like this. How can they let my husband sit here to drink wine alone?"
Xia Zhao smiled at her and held her back, "Okay, there is no need for that. Go and stay with Yue Yue. You don't have to co to comfort . I am not mad at you."
"What about horse riding?"
"We can do it another ti," he replied. "I was just teasing you. Don't take it so seriously."
Mu Chenyan pursed her lips and said, "Earlier, I didn't an that our love would fade away. I definitely didn't an that I don't trust in your feelings for ."
"I know. I know it all," said Xia Zhao and rubbed her head. "How could I not know what you really an? I am just drinking wine because I have nothing to do right now. Go and get busy with your things."
