"But I still wore it," ca Raelle's voice. Both of them looked over and found Raelle standing at the door for who knew how long.
Grandfather Xiang beckoned her over and Raelle went to his side. She sat down on the carpet and put her head on Grandfather Xiang's knees. Grandfather Xiang put his hand on her head lovingly and said, "Yes, my Yenay did wear that princess dress even though she didn't want to. All because she thought it'd make her Yanyan happy."
"I'm just such a sensible person," said Raelle.
Grandfather Xiang laughed at her response, "Of course, you are! And she did a lot more just to make and her Yanyan happy. So, don't think my Yenay is spoiled and pampered. She is anything but unreasonable. She always knew how to not hurt my feelings. She was always a caring little cotton-padded jacket of mine who brought warmth."
Raelle looked up and asked, "I did bring you warmth, Opa?"
"Yes."
"But everyone says I'm cold."
"They know nothing," said Grandfather Xiang. "My granddaughter is such a warm person."
Raelle was actually happy to hear this response from him. Xiang Hulin looked at the happiness in her eyes and then looked at the love in his father's eyes as he lovingly combed his fingers through Raelle's hair so gently. Even he had never gotten this treatnt as a son. But then again, maybe it was because his father believed that sons were supposed to be raised poorly.
"How was your trip?" asked Grandfather Xiang.
"So troubleso," she responded.
Grandfather Xiang laughed at this very expected response and said, "You didn't have fun?"
"Fun? What is that? All I know is that I had to go through so much trouble. I don't wanna do this again."
"Then you'd have to win in an argunt with Fai to escape from such trouble in the future," said Grandfather Xiang.
"He is my nesis! I feel like he ca into my life to go against ."
"Isn't that obvious already?" asked Hyson. "And can you stop complaining about to Opa? He of course knows what kind of a person I am. He won't believe whatever you say about . Right, Opa?"
"Well, I obviously can't just do that. My little prince is also very important to and I have to hear his point of view too."
"See?" started Raelle. "Here he cos to go against again."
"Ellie, aren't you tired? Why don't you take a nap?"
"I don't have a habit of taking a nap."
"Right. I almost forgot that robots don't sleep."
"I'm not a robot!"
"Yes, I forgot for a second. Now, you've ascended to the human realm."
"Ascended to the human realm?" asked Raelle.
"Yeah. Because you fell in love. Only mortals do that."
"Who said that? Immortals can also fall in love."
Hyson laughed out loud, "Ellie, just that fact that you said is saying a lot about your transformation from a robot to a human. Obviously, before you never believed in immortals but now, you are even willing to believe in the love of immortals. What a change!"
Raelle wanted to ignore him right now so she said, "Scram already!"
"Don't want to," replied Hyson.
"You both are full of energy," comnted Grandfather Xiang. "How can you both be so... I don't even know what to say."
"Then don't say anything, Elder Xiang," said Mu Chenyan as she ca to them with a bowl of porridge and put it on the coffee table. She looked at Raelle and said, "You co and eat. Then you'll have more energy to argue with Fai."
"Who wants to argue with him? I don't even want to see his face for at least a week now!"
Hyson pouted and looked so pitiful, "Yanyan, look what she is saying."
"You have selective hearing anyway. So, just ignore whatever she said."
Hyson beca happy again, "That's true. If I took her words seriously, would I be even here right now? I don't think so."
"I don't think so either," said Mu Chenyan. "Am I supposed to eat here?" asked Raelle.
"Yes," replied Mu Chenyan. "There is no need to go to the dining table. You're already sitting on the carpet. Just eat it here. Don't be so particular all the ti."
"Yeah. What's with so much drama?" "Hyson!"
"Yes?"
"Why are you here?"
"Yanyan is bringing snacks too," said Hyson. "Right, Yanyan?"
"Yes, yes. Your mother is bringing it here in a minute," replied Mu Chenyan.
Hyson happily nodded and sat down with Raelle. "Should I help you blow on the hot porridge?"
"I can do that myself," said Raelle.
"I am such a helpful best friend. Why don't you take advantage of this?"
"Isn't it enough that one of them knows how to take advantage of the other?" she retorted.
"When did I take advantage of you?"
"All the ti!"
"You're wrongly accusing now, Ellie! That's not nice. You're pointing a finger at my character which is purer than white jade." He flicked his non-existent tears and looked at Xiang Hulin, "Hi, Uncle! I didn't see you there."
"I guess you don't see anything once Raelle is around."
"That's not true," he said. "But when I'm annoying her, I, of course, can't see anyone or anything around. Can't help it." He looked at Raelle again and said, "And it's about ti I stop that before she dumps the bowl of hot porridge on my head."
"She won't do that," said Xiang Hulin. "My daughter is not like this."
"You know nothing about your daughter," argued Hyson. "She might not do it to others because she is too civilized for that. But I am not just any one. I'm Hyson! She gets to do whatever she wants to . It includes and not limited to pouring things on , beating , scolding and whatnot. I'm such a poor best friend. So miserable!"
Raelle looked up at him and Hyson instantly zipped his lips and locked them and threw the key away. Then he even gave her a big and flattering smile.
