Xia Zhao excused himself and stepped aside to make a phone call. As soon as the phone connected, he said, "Grandfather, I'm getting married!" As he listened to the answer from the other side, his excitent slowly decreased. "Grandmother, I did not deceive any poor or innocent girl. You can't call her innocent for sure. Because trust , she isn't such an innocent one."
He patiently listened to his grandparents speaking and sighed, "Why do you think I'm joking? It's not a prank. Have I ever done such a thing before?" He was a little frustrated, "You don't believe ?" He rushed back to Mu Chenyan's side who was staring at his back intensely, "What are you up to?"
"I was calling my grandparents. I promised them that they'd be the first one to know if you said yes one day," he replied.
Mu Chenyan was a bit baffled.
"Oh, they want to et you," he added. "Do you think it's possible? You don't have to et anyone else from my family. Only my grandparents would do. I just want them to see you. Is it okay?"
"How co I never noticed that you beco cautious around ?" asked Mu Chenyan. "I beco a little more unreserved around you and you beco cautious around . Quite strange, no?"
Xia Zhao also paused and contemplated it. It did seem like that was the case. "I just don't want to make you upset," he answered.
"But that doesn't help. I still go berserk without a reason. I really don't reason for losing my temper with you."
"True." He did agree with that completely. "Oh, did you just avoid my question?"
"Huh?"
"If you don't wanna et my grandparents, just say so. There is no need to avoid it by distracting like this."
Mu Chenyan pursed her lips thoughtfully, "It's not exactly that I don't wanna et them. I have always wanted to see what kind of people they are. If they didn't live in 'seclusion', I would have visited them long ago."

She took a deep breath and said, "Fine. Bring it on. If I'm ready for it, I can't take a step back now. I have to et your grandparents. So, let's et them this ti."
"Are you sure?" he asked again for confirmation.
"I'm sure. Don't annoy now by asking over and over again."
"Alright."
He took out his phone to send a ssage to his grandparents. He seed very happy as they walked out of the cetery hand in hand. Mu Chenyan could feel his good mood radiating from him even if he kept a straight face right now as usual.
"I am not having a wedding ceremony," she told him.
Xia Zhao turned to her, "That's sothing Raelle would say. And you had been trying to make her wedding ceremony a grand affair. Do you have to have such double standards?"
"Well, it's fun to arrange things for her. But if I have to go through it myself, then no thanks. I don't feel like doing it. Besides, Raelle is young. Do you even rember how old we are?"
"No matter how old we are, I still don't think we are old enough to not have a wedding ceremony."
"Why are you going against ?" she asked weirdly. "Is it because I said yes to marriage and you think you can change? But mind you, we haven't gotten a certificate yet. Anything can change."
"I'm not going against you. I'm just making my point clear. I don't think we are so old that we can't even have a wedding ceremony. I don't mind getting a marriage certificate. It is enough too. But I still would love to see you in a wedding dress. Let's not make it a grand affair like Raelle's wedding but we can have an intimate ceremony. Can't we?"
Mu Chenyan didn't respond imdiately. She really had so double standards. In so matters like a street race, she didn't think she was old but when it ca to a wedding ceremony, she felt like she was too old for wearing a wedding gown. And it's not like she ever had a dream of wearing a wedding gown and walking down the aisle. But once she thought about the scene of walking down the aisle with Elder Xiang, with Xia Zhao waiting for her at the end, she was suddenly not all that repulsed to the idea of this wedding ceremony. Yes, she could do that. She really could.
"You don't have to answer right now. We have ti. You can think slowly and calmly. Consider everything before replying. We are only getting married once. Why not make it morable? Don't you love the wedding photo of your godparents hanging in the main hall? Won't you wanna have one of your own?" He took a pause and added, "I don't wanna force you or emotionally manipulate you or anything. But I'm pretty sure Uncle Tian would definitely want to walk you down the aisle. Even if he never said it over the years, you know very well how much he had been looking for forward to your wedding."
Mu Chenyan sighed to herself, "If you say it like that, I won't even be able to reject this idea."
"I'm just laying down so facts before you. The rest is up to you. If you really don't want to have the wedding ceremony, I don't mind. It's no big deal to anyway."
