The blue whale vanished before the eyes of the two, leaving behind a massive pit that was quickly filled by seawater.
"Splash, splash..."
The waves crashed onto the beach as the sea breeze blew coolly.
But Qin Shou didn’t dare stay and enjoy this mont, because the cries from the blue whale had already attracted the surrounding monsters.
The mournful cry of a horror-level monster was highly enticing.
In this area, any monster with a hint of intellect could figure out the fate of a stranded blue whale.
When it cos to a feast as grand as this, they have no reason to let it slip by.
"Splat!"
Suddenly, several terrifying tentacles shot out from the deep sea, their wicked suction cups spread across the surface like monstrous snakes, making Qin Shou and Lin Xiaoi tremble.
"Not good, it’s a horror-level monster."
Qin Shou furrowed his brow, imdiately rging with his Wind Eagle Armor, grabbed Lin Xiaoi by the collar, and took off running at full speed.
"Boom..."
A faint blue streak flashed by as the enormous tentacles slamd into the coast, making the earth tremble.
Deprived of its target, the terrifying tentacles hesitated for a mont before lunging toward the freshly arrived horror-level Earth Green Bull Python.
"Moo!!"
After a fierce battle, the Earth Green Bull Python was no match for the tentacles and was forcibly dragged into the sea, where it was subrged into silence, its cries fading intermittently.
...
"Phew..."
At the edge of the city ruins, a faint blue figure flashed past, quickly revealing Qin Shou, panting heavily. He casually tossed Lin Xiaoi to the side.
"Ouch..."
Lin Xiaoi clutched her sore bottom and stared at Qin Shou with bitterness. Couldn’t he have been gentler?
Qin Shou paid no attention to Lin Xiaoi’s expression. He collapsed on the ground, wiped away the cold sweat from his forehead, and sighed in relief, thankful for his quick escape.
What in the world was that?
A Deep Sea Giant Demon?
No way, no way...
After catching his breath for a while, Qin Shou called Lin Xiaoi to prepare for the next leg of their journey.
"Huh? Why is your face so dark?" Qin Shou asked curiously, looking at Lin Xiaoi.
"Heh heh, the sun," Lin Xiaoi replied stiffly with a forced smile.
Qin Shou glanced at the sweltering sun overhead, nodded slightly, and then produced a bottle of sunscreen and began fiddling with it.
"Want so?"
"No thanks."
Lin Xiaoi tilted her head to the sky and covered her face, silently cursing her poor luck at eting such a person.
...
A short while later, the two resud their journey.
On their way, they walked and stopped intermittently, relying on Rein Jia’er to scout for danger, keeping their pace slow.
Not only Qin Shou, but everyone else was essentially in the sa predicant.
Two hours later, Qin Shou’s wrist-mounted communicator began flashing.
"Beep, beep..."
Opening the video feed, the screen showed a Saber-toothed Tiger cha frantically escaping, with a horror-level Saber-toothed Tiger full of excitent hot on its heels.
"Roar!!"
The horror-level Saber-toothed Tiger let out an exhilarating roar, as if expressing sothing.
Inside the cockpit, Fang Bao’s face was pale as the alarm sounds blared incessantly.
"Ding! Warning! Warning! The horror-level Saber-toothed Tiger is in its mating season, danger level at 150%..."
"Ding! Warning! Warning! This monster is issuing a courtship request to you—do you accept it?"
As soon as Fang Bao heard this, he lost his composure and cursed angrily.
"Pah! Agree to its request? Hell no! It wants to poke my cha? Dream on!"
Without hesitation, he activated the cha’s self-destruction protocol.
"Ding! Self-destruction protocol initiated, countdown: ten, nine, eight..."
As the countdown began, Fang Bao hurriedly clambered into the escape pod and launched the escape sequence.
"Bang!"
The escape pod ejected from the Tiger-shaped cha’s mouth and vanished into the dense forest ahead in an instant.
"Click..."
After Fang Bao’s departure, the Tiger-shaped cha froze montarily and remained motionless.
Seeing this, the Saber-toothed Tiger growled excitedly and approached the cha, affectionately rubbing its neck against the cold steel body of the Saber-toothed Tiger cha.
"Howl..."
Realizing sothing was amiss, the Saber-toothed Tiger’s eyes flickered with confusion.
In the next mont, the cha erupted with dazzling flas, engulfing the horror-level Saber-toothed Tiger.
"Boom!"
"Howl..."
chanical fragnts scattered, and in the sea of flas, the Saber-toothed Tiger howled mournfully at the sky.
A mont later, the Saber-toothed Tiger extinguished the flas on its body, licking the wounds caused by the cha’s self-destruction. It then stared dazedly at the shattered cha, letting out soft, mournful cries.
The scene abruptly ended, and Qin Shou stroked his chin. Chuckling, he remarked, "Turns out monsters in their mating season are easy to deceive.
But Fang Bao, that guy, is always so outrageously bold. I bet he’s still carrying plenty of spare chas this ti around."
Upon hearing this, Lin Xiaoi silently mourned for Fang Bao.
"Lin Xiaoi, go probe Fang Bao for information. If you succeed, I’ll give you a commission."
Lin Xiaoi’s eyes lit up, and her sympathy vanished instantly.
"Got it."
With that, she sped off toward the direction indicated by Rein Jia’er, tracking where the escape pod had landed.
Watching Lin Xiaoi’s departing figure, Qin Shou laughed to himself contentedly.
Perfect, perfect. When employees are proactive, the company thrives.
...
"Click..."
In a mountain ravine, Fang Bao opened the escape pod, holding his dizzy head while staggering slightly.
Then, as if rembering sothing, he pulled out the Monster Distribution Map and tossed it to the ground, stomping on it furiously.
"What a worthless map—it almost got killed!"
Fang Bao cursed loudly but also felt fortunate that the Saber-toothed Tiger he encountered was in its mating season. Otherwise, facing a normal horror-level monster, he’d never have had enough ti to activate the escape sequence.
Seems like not choosing that Tiger-shaped cha with "extra features" was truly a wise decision.
As he mulled over this, he scanned his surroundings and suddenly noticed movent in the dense forest, triggering his vigilance.
"Who’s there?"
"It’s ."
Lin Xiaoi erged from the vegetation, looking at Fang Bao with a hint of surprise.
"It’s you?"
Fang Bao eyed her warily. "Lin Xiaoi, you’re here... Where’s Qin Shou?"
Lin Xiaoi shook her head helplessly. "I’m not with him. His communicator isn’t working either, so I have no idea where he is right now."
"Is that so?" Fang Bao didn’t sound convinced.
Lin Xiaoi spread her hands and said, "Why would I lie to you?"
Seeing her genuine expression, Fang Bao’s wariness gradually faded.
His impression of Lin Xiaoi still lingered from their ti during the Beast Tide.
In Fang Bao’s mind, Lin Xiaoi and Qin Shou were completely different types of people.
One was endlessly shaless, while the other, though not entirely naive, at least had so decency and wouldn’t resort to bizarre actions.
"By the way, how did you find ?" Fang Bao asked curiously.
Lin Xiaoi replied, "I stumbled upon your escape pod here by chance, so I ca over to check things out."
Fang Bao nodded, "Since we’ve crossed paths, let’s stick together. More people an more protection."
"Aren’t you worried I’ll compete with you for first place?" Lin Xiaoi asked, surprised.
"Tis have changed. With my current strength, I’d say I’m equal to anyone in the Newborn Realm!" Fang Bao declared confidently.
"I see..."
Lin Xiaoi pondered thoughtfully.
...
anwhile, relying on Rein Jia’er’s scouting, Qin Shou accidentally spotted traces of four mbers from the Breeding Beast System.
Surprisingly, Qin Shou had no intention of approaching them or "doing business."
Beast Tars weren’t much wealthier than Beast Ability Masters; Qin Shou didn’t want to waste his ti.
To truly profit, he’d need to target those fat sheep from the chanical Departnt.
As the night settled in, Qin Shou finally discovered traces of the other four mbers from the chanical Departnt.
