After tossing Jeston into that Twin World, Feng Xue resolutely returned to Babylon Tower. It took him several months to even beco a Kaidan, in part due to the frequent shutdowns for maintenance during the beta testing period. But considering Jeston’s intelligence, it would already be quite an achievent if he could co up with a Kaidan in two or three years.
However, Feng Xue wasn’t in a hurry about this. In two or three years, even if Jeston hadn’t beco a Kaidan by then, there would be other players gradually turning into Kaidan. He could just find one he didn’t like, kill them to see the result, and it wouldn’t interfere with him doing other things at all.
Besides, there wasn’t too much to dig into in the ga world itself, because in the end, to the players, no matter how many gimmicks you co up with, they’re rely a set of preset "codes." They are the machinations of the ga designers, and even if Kaidan related to it did erge, they’d be pointing towards the "whole life designers" rather than the "whole life characters" created by the designers.
Don’t look now, but his "Skill Tutor who Plays with Coffin Boards" Kaidan had appeared, but there might be a Kaidan about a designer who designs NPCs, right behind it.
And that Kaidan might very well be pointing to the Kaidan of the ga world itself.
Developing a functional one might still be good, but if you want to create Kaidan like "Everyone in Yan Country knows Martial Arts," "All Things Have Spirit," and "Mystical Lord" with online intensity, you’d still need to find that kind of proper world.
"But you can’t rush these things, it’s not like I can open a door every ti I drink a bottle of Lucky Milk, right? If that were the case, I’d make a fortune just selling milk."
Though Feng Xue said this, he still bought a box of milk from the vending machine in front of the Babylon Tower and casually combined it into Lucky Milk.
"Hey, you’ve got quite a knack for this!"
Just as Feng Xue was about to go back to his room to drink milk (the main gate was already connected to the Martial Arts Ga World, fixed in the open position), a voice ca from behind. Feng Xue turned around, only to see the purple-eyed, bronzed-skin Cain standing not far away.
"Manufacturing skills shouldn’t be rare in this tower, right? But this thing works pretty well, wanna give it a try?"
In the face of this "Ancient God" who walked without sound and could even bypass his perception, Feng Xue still put on a display of respect for the old-tir. Even though combat wasn’t allowed in Babylon Tower, it was better not to offend soone who could completely ignore perception.
Although Feng Xue spoke kindly, sincerely offering the milk, Cain sighed and said:
"No use, I’m burdened with a curse. All food, whether crop or livestock product, turns to dirt upon my touch, unable to be consud—even True Objects cannot fight against this supre setting."
"Ah... right," Feng Xue recalled that Cain, indeed, was punished in legend to not partake of any food from the earth, which is also why later adaptations often turned Cain into a vampire: if you can’t eat, then drink blood, as far as Western logic goes.
Feng Xue could only express helplessness about Cain’s plight and felt pity that he had never visited the Yan Country series of worlds. Otherwise, he might have already started refining Sun Essence and Moon Essence.
A Human Ancestor tag, eh!
Even if he wasn’t an Eastern Human Ancestor, the Kaidan itself had a trait of setting being more powerful than heaven. Wouldn’t this guy skyrocket just by entering a Primordial World or a world with a rit System or Wish Power System?
But this thought was fleeting. In the end, Feng Xue still didn’t have the qualifications to dip his toes into the kind of label that practically only innate Kaidan were eligible for.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t obtain it, but that thing required far too much ti to develop.
For instance, if Feng Xue wanted a Human Ancestor tag right now, the best way would actually be to find a world and exterminate all of humanity (of course, it would be even better if he could find a world without humans), leaving only a few won behind, or directly bringing won over from other worlds, getting pregnant in Infinite City, then going to that world to give birth, thus reproducing a new Human Clan (the main issue is that he can’t give birth in Infinite City nor can he conceive in the Real World).
Afterward, just experience about a dozen generations of human reproduction. Once humanity has grown to a sufficient number to bring Kaidan into cohesion, he would naturally beco the Human Ancestor.
However, this kind of action, not to ntion whether it would harm the heavens or go against one’s own principles, primarily requires a tispan of hundreds of years. At least for now, no one born from Infinite City has that kind of capital.
Of course, it’s not impossible to take shortcuts, such as finding an undeveloped Primitive Country, brainwashing them, and creating myths. Although the Identity forged through brainwashing is of very low quality, as long as one waits for these people’s offspring to grow up in such a culture, it would only take twenty to thirty years to form a specific tag.
It’s just that because of the small population, the quality would be quite poor.
After exchanging a few casual words with Cain and bringing up the legends about absorbing Sun Essence and Moon Essence (radiation?), Feng Xue turned and headed ho.
Gulping down the entire bottle of milk, Feng Xue once again acquired the skills of Demolition Iron Man and Fortune Cat’s Active Thrill.
"If the door opens again this ti, that ans this milk really does have such a miraculous function."
Thinking so, Feng Xue first checked her Equipnt, then took out a Jade Token that looked to have an Eastern temperant from a box specifically used to store True Objects collected from various dumps.
This Jade Token was polished from excellent mutton-fat white jade, about the size of a palm, with ancient characters engraved on it that were indecipherable even without the power of Mystical Lord— the words "Mystical Heart."
"Looking at the style of this Token, it’s either a Martial Arts or an Immortal world, and it’s the kind that has family clans and elite houses; otherwise, they wouldn’t cut such fine jade into this shape just to make a Token."
With that thought, Feng Xue resolved to conjure up an Immortal-style Kaidan this ti, and imdiately started opening the doors throughout the villa.
The bedroom, bathroom, attic, study...
As she opened the door leading to the kitchen, Feng Xue’s vision blurred for a mont, and the open-concept kitchen, filled with all kinds of ultra-modern technology, transford into a cramped corridor laden with kitchen fus as the glass door slid open.
"Hisss... Is this so kind of tube building’s shared kitchen or what?"
Almost instantly upon seeing the cluttered corridor full of miscellaneous items, Feng Xue realized what kind of place this was, having grown up as a human child in a tube building, where several families shared a single gas stove and toilet.
"Based on the conclusion, it seems to be a modern society. Hmm, maybe this Token belongs to this world a few hundred years ago? Or perhaps... it’s a forgotten relic?"
Muttering to herself, Feng Xue didn’t dawdle there. After all, although not everyone in a tube building is poor, judging by the style of the items in the corridor, they probably weren’t very well-off, plus the squalid cooking area full of signs of a bygone era, and one shouldn’t even dream of computers or the internet.
To gather information, it would be better to look for a more prosperous community.
(You guys will definitely never guess what the hell I’ve got cooking this ti...)
