"Finally, this belt was enshrined by the survivors, they erected a monunt and a nook for it, and the ghost that killed the Knight never appeared near the village again, although occasionally, tales of it appearing elsewhere could still be heard. But that was another story..."
As a story specifically targeting the Masked Rider concluded, the candle fla in front of the Kaidan suddenly flickered violently, and one by one, the tags began to disintegrate, causing the fla to beco weak.
Finally, amid a crackling sound, the Kaidan Fire, which had only a few tags left corresponding to the storyless tale, slowly detached from the candlestick and landed on the storyteller Wu.
His body twisted, a pair of bone horns pierced through his forehead, his previously well-proportioned body began to swell, his abdon bulged, tusks protruded, looking exactly like the Evil Ghost from the story.
As he placed the extinguished candlestick back on the tatami, an Evil Ghost pattern seed to be slowly drawn by an invisible hand, appearing on the Night Parade of Hundred Demons wall to the north.
"I see, essentially using the Kaidan Fire from other stories to fuse into a new Kaidan, although it is still related to the Ancestor Kaidan, the Power can be slowly added, and it will beco a hierarchy on the Night Parade of Hundred Demons. Even if the original is dead, as long as soone retells the story, the Kaidan can be inherited. The strange figure of the Kaidan is to fit with those tags from the Kaidan Fire, right?"
Feng Xue observed story after story, but never took action, because these Kaidan, although targeting the Masked Rider, were not yet at a level where he needed to take risks.
As the Evil Ghost pattern fully manifested, the new Wu lit the candlestick in front of him, and among the Flas on the candlestick, there were rather excellent tags like [Greed], [Plunder], [Evil], [Hero].
And that Wu was clearly very satisfied with the tags on this Fla, wearing a confident smile, he found a suitable story in his mory—
"Masked Rider·Flying Knight was one of countless Masked Riders, neither one of those distinctive legendary Knights nor with a cool appearance; he was just a middle-aged man who accidentally acquired the Power of a Masked Rider.
"How powerful the Masked Riders were, with physical qualities far beyond ordinary people, various Superpowers, they could defeat Kaidan and beco heroes to humans.
"Initially, Flying Knight was very enthusiastic about this Knight Ga, but as ti passed, he found that defeating Kaidan brought him no benefit. Those he saved wouldn’t reward him, and the ti spent defeating Kaidan caused his boss’s reproach.
"So, he fell. He began using the Masked Rider’s Power for wrongful ans. From that mont, he ceased being a Masked Rider and was instead known as a ’Alien Species.’
"But Flying Knight did not care about this. He used his Power to gain wealth and live a better life. However, his actions also caught the attention of other Masked Riders.
"Finally..."
Listening to Wu, who possessed a classic broadcaster voice, narrating a story about an "Alien Species Knight" like a midnight story session, Feng Xue basically guessed the story’s trajectory. Compared to the previous ones, this Kaidan, with a clear characteristic of "mutation from Masked Rider," was evidently more aggressive and targeted.
So, he decided not to wait.
[Hard to Understand] Power activated again.
Simultaneously with the Power’s activation, the words of Wu, who was telling the story, suddenly faltered. Yet this abrupt surprise did not make him stall completely.
For today, they prepared extensively in response to the possible tags appearing in the sub-venue, morizing hundreds of scripts.
Even at this mont, although he suddenly could not understand the story’s aning, relying on rote morization, he maintained a normal pace of speech.
However, the previously imrsive broadcaster voice beca sowhat emotionless, sounding awkward like an AI reading.
As the sowhat dry tone spread, the Hundred Tales officials quietly watching the venue imdiately noticed sothing was wrong. After a brief commotion, many glances were cast toward Feng Xue.
But Feng Xue’s first [Hard to Understand] was applied to himself, so these Kaidan could not comprehend when he activated the Power or how he did it.
Without evidence, they couldn’t assess a clear act of betrayal, and had to be constrained by the apparition’s Power. Even if they were ninety-eight percent sure this sudden anomaly was related to Feng Xue, and even harbored the thought of not letting any offender go, still no one acted.
Even the young man with giant horns who brought him in couldn’t make a move.
Because the Decision Cane’s ability was "mbers not higher than the level cannot take hostile actions," so those of the sa rank couldn’t either.
Thus, in the entire venue, only the rumored leader at the pinnacle of the Hundred Tales had the ability to break through the apparition’s shackles and attack Feng Xue.
However, that mysterious leader did not seem to be present, or perhaps... had no intention of taking action.
"Is it because of concern about other characteristics of the apparition? Or to guard against other hostile forces?"
Feng Xue speculated in his mind, but didn’t mind those murderous glances, simply maintained the [Hard to Understand] Power calmly, and diverted his attention to browsing various live streams.
While he focused on the issue of Eastern Yan Country people’s evacuation, three Kaidan erged from the Hundred Tales officials who were previously spectating.
One was covered in black fur, revealing only a weird eye, while another appeared as a monk without limbs, could only move with two large earlobes, and the last seed like a hunched, gaunt old man, with a withered chest heaving intensely, emitting a piercing heartbeat.
The black-furred demon extended a hand over the Monk’s forehead, and the other hand placed on the gaunt old man’s chest.
In the next mont, the dry recitation once again brimd with emotion, and the previously incomprehensible story suddenly beca crystal clear.
In his astonishnt, Feng Xue imdiately withdrew [Hard to Understand], then used the Hermit Power to hide this Power. As his gaze swept across the Night Parade of Hundred Demons, he quickly found the nas of the three Kaidan—
Enlightennt, Heart, Awakening.
Demons ford from abandoned children born with strong intelligence yet congenital disabilities in the mountains.
Demons capable of manipulating minds, imposing their will on others.
Demons able to see through thoughts and reveal them.
"It looks like the Hundred Tales did a lot of preparation for this ritual, even bringing out such obscure forces forcibly making people understand the story. It seems a bit tricky to work subtly!"
Seeing the story about the Alien Species Knight who could seize the Masked Rider’s Power and create more of its kind reaching mid-point, Feng Xue finally made a decision.
Although no change was visible on the surface, high above the sky, a teor streaked across the night.
