"Yayuka, wait for !" The bell for after-school rang, and Yayuka, as always, picked up her backpack, but then she heard Rinko’s voice and was slightly taken aback.
"Aren’t you supposed to have club activities?" Yayuka looked at Rinko, who seed to have taken on the attitude of soone eager to go ho instead, with slight surprise.
"The rumors about Kaidan have increased so much lately that our club’s activities have actually decreased. Let’s go hang out in the comrcial district! I heard that the place where the Masked Rider fought has beco a check-in spot. It’s a sha that the videos of the combat have been locked down online, they can only be spread in small circles."
While Rinko was reciting the lines she had prepared, she had another thought in her mind—
With so many Kaidan living near Yayuka’s ho, and considering the nightmares Yayuka had ntioned and her increased appetite, Rinko had reason to suspect that her best friend might have been entangled by a Kaidan like Black Monk that steals life force!
So, she planned to stick with Yayuka for the next few days to see if they could encounter that Kaidan.
"Once I find it, I’ll use the power of the Masked Rider to wipe it out!"
Yayuka, listening to Rinko’s reasoning, had another idea in mind—
"It looks like Rinko was scared by the previous combat. Isn’t there a saying in Yan Country about professing love for dragons without actually seeing one? Maybe she doesn’t like Kaidan anymore after seeing a real one, but that’s also a good thing. After all, a club like the Kaidan society is the kind of crowd that’s very likely to encounter Kaidan."
Both girls harbored their own thoughts, yet they carried on as if nothing was amiss, picking up their backpacks and heading to the comrcial district. They snacked, drank bubble tea, and even saw a newly released movie as usual.
"Isn’t it all about Guardians of the Galaxy or X-n these days? Why are there only superheroes in the cinemas?" Yayuka complained as they left the cinema, while Rinko accepted it as a matter of fact:
"There’s nothing we can do about it, popcorn movies make money! But I feel like Kung Fu movies from Yan Country are not bad either; their narrative may be a bit convoluted, but the fight scenes are way better than superhero movies! Fist to flesh, you can’t even see the traces of special effects!"
"Maybe they can’t compete with the Hollywood scale, so they focus on the details?" Rinko made a reliable guess, unaware that there weren’t any special effects at all.
Just as they were contemplating going ho, a sudden explosion attracted their attention.
Screams, running, and two sharp, piercing gunshots imdiately made it clear that sothing had happened, though it was so distance away.
"What’s going on?" Rinko squinted her eyes in the direction where people were running from, and next to Yayuka, a Stand appeared—using the Stand’s Eye Power, she saw clearly the direction where the chaos was taking place—
"It seems like a robbery, let’s hurry!"
"A robbery!" Rinko shook her head, "Then let’s move fast before the police get here and we have to give a statent."
"Generally speaking, we don’t need to if we’re this far away, do we?" Yayuka took a step, surprised, and Rinko spread her hands:
"Who knows, I only saw this stuff on TV... Ow!"
At this point, Rinko’s expression twitched slightly, then she held her stomach:
"Uh, I might have drunk too much iced cola, my stomach hurts a bit. I’ll go to the toilet; if you can’t wait, go ahead without ."
"I’ll just wait here." A glint flashed in Yayuka’s eyes, but Rinko quickly dashed back into the cinema.
"Out Of Sight!"
"What’s wrong?" Feng Xue imdiately erged from Yayuka’s body, while this part of his Consciousness stayed at Yayuka’s house to maintain the effect of "Suspicious Cardboard Box", having arrived in this world, his Consciousness had already connected to the net and split off a part to remotely control the Stand as easily as he used to co down onto other Chinese descendants to beat up Black ATMs.
The only problem was that most of the Inner Strength that made up the Stand was in the box; showing up for a bit was fine, but combat would really stretch its Durability.
"Let’s check out what’s happening over there." Yayuka said, while her mind had already sent the command, and Feng Xue, already operating remotely, did not fight Yayuka for control and his Consciousness imdiately moved, heading towards the shop where the accident had happened.
...
"Phew, good thing Yayuka didn’t suspect anything." Rinko ducked into the movie theater’s bathroom, and breathed a sigh of relief before pulling out the Masked Rider Transformation Device from her bag. As a Masked Rider, how could she turn a blind eye to sin?
The card box attached itself to the belt around her waist, and the straps imdiately sprang out, securing itself in place.
"Transforming ti!"
"Are you ready?"
Even though the sound effects were the sa, Rinko’s mindset was completely different. She struck a pose that she had practiced many tis, drew the Spider Card from the card box, and inserted it into the slot—
"Transform!"
"Encompassing all creation~~"
"Net of heaven and earth!!"
"Masked Rider—"
"Demon Rider!"
It was still the sa base armor, but the decorations, forrly as sugary as a candied hawthorn, had turned into sharp spikes, and the hexagonal ice crystal patterns on the armor had transford into a spider web pattern.
Compared to the Snow Woman Card, Rinko now exuded even more dominance.
Of course, she didn’t actually like this form. She much preferred the Snow Woman over the inevitably sacrificial spider in the Masked Rider series, but there was no helping it; it seed that the card was lent to her by Mr. Evil Rider, and after she acquired the Earth Spider Card, the other had disappeared without a trace.
"Anyway, I need to take care of the robbers quickly!"
A stream of spider silk sprayed from the spider decoration on the back of her right hand, propelling Rinko straight out of the movie theater bathroom window, and, just like Spider-Man, she swiftly moved through the steel jungle with the aid of the silk thread, reaching the area above the store that seed to be the site of the robbery after only a couple of back and forths.
...
"Move faster! The police will be here any minute!"
Inside the gold shop, a thug wielding a handgun was ordering his subordinates. The glass showcases had been violently smashed, and the pure gold jewelry, along with the shards of glass, were being shoveled into burlap sacks. The employees and custors were trembling in the corner, none of them daring to show resistance.
"Boss, we’re done! These little trinkets are quite heavy!"
One of the robbers, wearing a blue mask, called out loud, while the one with the red mask, holding the gun, grabbed his own sack and noted the hefty weight:
"If it’s not heavy, can it still be called gold? Let’s go!"
As he spoke, he led the way out of the store. His underlings, each carrying a bag, filed out behind him. However, just as they were leaving the store, a red and black figure suddenly plumted from the sky, kicking up an unscientific cloud of dust.
Their vision montarily obscured, the thieves, wide awake in their mortal world consciousness, chose to ignore the person who seed to have chosen that exact mont to "end it all" and took the lead in stepping out. But it seed he heard a voice—
"Now’s the chance!"
...
"Masked Rider Demon Rider! I have arrived! Eh?"
As the dust settled, Rinko, who had landed perfectly, struck a heroic pose and lifted her head, about to unleash a "my grandmother once said," but then awkwardly discovered that all the robbers were already lying on the ground, each with a very distinct fist print on their foreheads—just like the emblem of a Pokémon Fighter type.
