The man holding the iron rod looked to be in his early thirties, with ssy hair like uncooked instant noodles and wearing a dirty shirt paired with overalls—a very typical construction worker’s attire.

His iron rod wasn’t sharp at all, and it seed to be a piece of rebar or sothing he picked up casually, obviously an impromptu decision.

"Geez, I almost thought I summoned Joestar with my flag!" Feng Xue, looking at the skinny man, also breathed a sigh of relief. Facing the sudden attack, he was still a bit flustered. After all, most of his strength resided in his phantom items; his actual body was just a tier-three Phantom Assassin, with only his evasion slightly above that of a Super Soldier.

But seeing that the other party didn’t seem to be so super assassin, Feng Xue felt much more at ease. While remaining on guard, he glanced around the environnt with his peripheral vision, looking for any potential weapons he might use.

Although he was prepared for combat, he still asked:

"Why are you attacking ?"

The man didn’t seem interested in talking, only slowly shifting his footsteps, gripping the rebar tighter.

But thanks to his strong observation skills, Feng Xue noticed that the man’s gaze was constantly darting towards the block of ice.

"Could this block of ice with its nonsensical codes be so sort of treasure? Or is it like , and he’s found sothing under the ice—a thing infused with ’Destiny’?"

Feng Xue pondered secretly, but the other party made the first move.

Although he looked scruffy, in Infinite City, physical appearance was often the least trustworthy detail.

Just as Feng Xue still appeared as a slightly unhealthy, skinny otaku, who would have thought that he was the type who could lift an upright piano single-handedly?

The rebar was raised high without a mont’s hesitation, and the whistling sound it made as the man stepped forward made it clear to Feng Xue that he had no intention of blocking it with his flesh and blood.

He activated his assassin’s movent technique at once. Although it was not very effective, Feng Xue still turned on ’Breath Concealnt’ to reduce his presence a bit. At the sa ti, he pushed back with his shoulders, causing his backpack, filled with spoils of battle, to slide off. Without the extra weight, Feng Xue’s speed increased, and he pulled a broken-off bicycle handle from the ground with an outstretched hand.

His body’s motions exploited the pull of gravity to its fullest, and with one motion, he seed to teleport, appearing right in front of the construction worker.

The man, who was not exactly a master of long weapons, did not expect Feng Xue’s sudden charge to be so swift. He tried to retract the rebar to block, but was Feng Xue, propelled by forward montum, not faster?

The bicycle handle swung viciously, connecting with the wrist holding the rebar, and easily tore through the skin and flesh with its rusty jagged end.

The man whose joint was struck yelped in pain, the rebar flying from his grasp, while Feng Xue had already taken another step forward. In an instant, the distance between them beca so close that even close-quarters combat was sowhat challenging.

The man instinctively wanted to retreat, but it was already too late.

Almost by instinct, Feng Xue reached up with his palm and struck with force. A crisp snap of breaking bone erupted, along with a satisfying and clean sensation, and the man before him went limp. Although he did not die imdiately, the twisted depression on his throat indicated he wouldn’t last long.

It wasn’t until then, having reflexively executed a combo, that Feng Xue realized what had happened. He jerked his hand back as if he had accidentally touched a venomous snake, feeling sowhat bewildered.

But Infinite City didn’t give him ti to be bewildered, for as this man breathed his last, an elent within the ’Assassin’ label also ca to life.

A peculiar sensation spread out, and Feng Xue imdiately recognized the na of the elent that was feeding back to him—

[Sharpness]

The feedback from this elent was not as direct as [Transport], as it didn’t enhance even a bit of his physical fitness, but granted Feng Xue a brand-new "sense."

It was hard to describe exactly what this thing was, but it certainly existed within Feng Xue’s body, allowing him to accurately detect others’ hostility and even killing intent toward himself while also aiding him in spotting flaws on his enemies.

It has to be said that the feedback from the elent greatly diminished the ntal pressure of Feng Xue’s first murder, and after missing the peak of that episode, he didn’t feel much of anything at all.

At this mont, faced with the corpse before him, not only did Feng Xue not feel the slightest bit nauseated, but he even had an urge to take out dissection tools and get to work on the spot—an effect of his daily confrontations with the anatomy teacher.

But the ti in the junkyard was ultimately precious, and Feng Xue didn’t act on his impulse, instead casually dragging the body to one side. Though in the end, he didn’t know why the man had attacked, it seed not that important.

However, considering the man’s attitude of attacking without a word, Feng Xue didn’t just toss aside the block of ice. Instead, he picked up the steel rebar the man had used as a weapon and smashed it forcefully against the ice. As the block cracked open, a eight hearts and eight arrows diamond appeared before his eyes.

The only regret was that this diamond also bore nothing but a bunch of gibberish.

"Smashing ice?" Feng Xue casually picked up the gemstone, finally understanding the previous man’s intent and couldn’t help but feel speechless. If he had been a little more patient, perhaps he might have discovered that he didn’t even know the fact that the ice could be smashed.

Shaking his head to dispel these unimportant thoughts from his mind, Feng Xue pushed away all the ice chips, revealing the item that contained the elent [Destiny].

And to his speechless dismay, it was another card—

A card with a large exclamation mark drawn on the back.

"It doesn’t look like a collectible card ga..." Feng Xue mumbled as he picked up the card, his expression instantly becoming extrely animated, running through the entire set process of "surprise, perplexity, speechlessness, and realization" in just a few short seconds.

And the front of the card was also fairly simple. The card’s picture section depicted a cartoon figure standing at a crossroad, while the text section contained a concise description—

"Opportunity: When you co to a fork in the road, draw a ’Destiny’ card."

Besides [Destiny], this card also carried the elents [Opportunity] and [Adventure].

"Well, well, well, it turns out to be Monopoly!"

All the mysteries were finally unraveled at this mont, whether it was the motorcycles scattered everywhere, the powerful tool cards ntioned in the newbie guide, the UFO that had fallen earlier, or the ice block that held the gemstone—all were instantly linked by this keyword, forming a reasonable explanation.

Feng Xue now found nothing strange about the chess world dropping motorcycles; in fact, he was even curious why so few airplanes had fallen—

Could it be that this junkyard wasn’t connected to the Aeroplane Chess world, ow?

(Actually, the airplanes in Aeroplane Chess don’t have a crash setting)
