Bai Weisheng turned to his son with his mouth gaping and eyes that couldn’t hide his surprise. His one and only son was never the kind of person who would talk, let alone ask about cheesy things like love. He was aware that Bai Tingfeng never had a dating phase before his fixed marriage with Shen Yuan, partially due to work, but most of it was because his grandfather pressured him to focus on training as the lone heir of the Bai Family.

He may never have said it, but Bai Weisheng felt sorry for his son. Even he had a fair share of relationships before he t and fell for his Suyin.

That’s why he was relieved to see that, for once, Tingfeng stepped out of his comfort zone.

Bai Weisheng relaxedly leaned his back on the chair. "Unfortunately for you, there’s isn’t an existing formula to win people’s hearts. People would refer to psychology books for guidance, but in my opinion, that’s hardly enough."

He lightly tapped his big son’s arm, "Natural attraction is a big factor in getting your oga. And based on my experience, couples who started in that foundation last longer because anything that cos after that was genuine."

For Bai Weisheng, it is best if his son learns to navigate that unchartered territory himself because that’s the fun part. That’s where the mories that they will later cherish are born.

"I see..." Bai Tingfeng trailed off. "I should have asked Dad."

"Is it too late for to ground you?" Bai Weisheng deadpanned.

Bai Tingfeng nodded, "Eight years."

The two alphas couldn’t hold back their laughter.

"Fine, if you badly needed tips, then think of solutions based on this proverb: Out of sight, out of mind. Aside from its depressing aning, it teaches the basics of chasing soone. Make do with that advice and man up."

Out of mind, out of sight...

Once he flipped its context in a way that will help him, then it ans that he must make his presence known to Shen Yuan in every way. It was a thod that would make him fluster, but he couldn’t keep acting like the virgin Mary.

Bai Tingfeng straightened his back and said, "I’ve been saying to myself for the past few days. I am conditioning myself to beco better."

"That’s what I am talking about!" Bai Weisheng nodded in satisfaction, but then his eyes beca serious. "This ti, you better make Shen Yuan stay. Don’t let him stray too far now."

"Father..." Bai Tingfeng sensed a covert aning behind his father’s last statent. And rembering the things that happened before, he is sure it is about the looming threat of the Cardinals.

"Thank you for reminding now." A small smile played on Bai Tingfeng’s lips.

"Can I invite you to a combat training father? I wanted to try using that power this ti," he said to his father with determination, "I am willing to face my fears now. For the best, I will release the beast hidden inside ."

Bai Weisheng didn’t show much emotion, but the shine in his eyes beca noticeable. "Is this for Shen Yuan?"

"I won’t deny that he influenced my decision to face this issue, but most of all, this is for my family, Father. I can’t avoid hurting other people if I want to protect my family. That’s why I must ta that uncontrolled power, the one I feared the most."

Just look at Bai Tingfeng’s eyes, and they will see that he is roaring to unshackle himself from the past that haunts him.

While Bai Tingfeng is having a aningful conversation, Shen Yuan gets dizzy with the flurry of unfamiliar faces around him. One mont, he is talking to the husband of a dia tycoon, and then a few breaths later, he is exchanging greetings with a young miss of a renowned hunter family. It takes all his focus to rember their faces and think of an intelligent response throughout their conversation— albeit most of the questions revolve around his feeling of becoming an S-Class awakener.

His hands and feet are raised in surrender to Rong Suyin because his father-in-law is indeed a rare breed of social butterfly. Not a sign of tiredness or ntal strain is seen when he is talking to them.

How enviable.

"Oh my, Yuan! It’s nice to see you back finally! I’ve been aning to invite you to show!" A petite, elegantly dressed female oga greeted him warmly. Contrary to others who are restrained and greet him with a smile, this fine lady is obviously westernized in his actions as he is pulled into a cheek-to-cheek kiss.

"Here’s who I ntioned to you earlier, Annie Song. She’s famous for making elegant couture pieces for ogas. Absolutely one of the best designers there is."

Annie smiled confidently. She isn’t so entitled person who felt offended that Shen Yuan didn’t know her na. "Yeah, that’s why you should be in my show this coming fashion week. I will reserve your walk in the opening or closing— whatever you would like, I will make sure to fulfill that. I’ve always wanted to see you give life to my pieces."

The celestial fox spirit could see why his father-in-law regarded this designer highly. The two of them share the sa passion for arts.

"I will contact you once my schedule for the coming months is settled."

That is pretty much like a yes from Shen Yuan.

Annie let out an excited, shrill scream. "Gee! Thanks!

I look forward to being the first designer to book the first S-Class oga!"

Other guests around their table heard her exclamation, so she beca self-aware. "I an, please don’t be too pressured by my whinings. If it coincides with your other schedules, I would understand if you turn down my show this ti. You know, your work with the Hunter Association and quality ti with your handso husband."

Annie said the latter part of his last statent suggestively.

As cunning and sly as he is, Shen Yuan understands the playful tone’s aning.

"Well, I could see the first one as a potential factor that may eat up my ti since Chairman Mao seed eager to put into work. As you can see," he then aningfully looked at Chairman Mao, who was talking to a waiter for sothing. Rong Suyin and Annie Song nodded in understanding.

The fact that Chairman Mao went to et him himself ant that they might catch on to sothing big, and Shen Yuan’s power was needed.

In the end, Annie Song and Shen Yuan exchanged calling cards. Everyone was satisfied rubbing each other’s elbows.

"Wait, Xiaoyuan. I don’t want to overthink what you said earlier, but I thought that you and Bai Tingfeng were not really okay by chance?"

Rong Suyin suddenly asked in whispers as they rested at Annie Song’s table.

"Huh?" Shen Yuan blinked his eyes, looking confused. "We are fine, Dad."

"No, fights?"

With this question, the celestial fox felt like a bone was stuck in his throat.

He was at a loss for a proper word to explain. Should he say that there was a fight? Or deny it since they already sorted it out in the anti.

Rong Suyin sighed, "I thought so."

Suddenly, Shen Yuan felt nervous and strongly urged to explain, "Well, I wouldn’t say that we didn’t have fights in the previous days. We argued several tis, but now, we are completely okay, Dad. We fixed all misunderstandings by telling each other our expectations, so we are doing okay now."

Rong Suyin seed relieved from what he heard, but when Shen Yuan thought the topic was over, his father-in-law returned with a curved ball.

"Is that all that happened?"

Shen Yuan was startled at first, but then he collected his cool and answered, "Absolutely!"

He wouldn’t advertise that Bai Tingfeng is chasing after him because although he is smug and prideful, he is not the kind who brags and raises his throne.

Let Bai Tingfeng show his determination to make him fall in love. At the sa ti, he will also make Bai Tingfeng crazy for him until that brutish alpha takes the initiative to offer his essence to him in glasses.

Although he had doubts, Rong Suyin didn’t force Shen Yuan to talk. Instead, he held Shen Yuan’s hand in a motherly way.

"I am really happy that you are finally ho now, Xiaoyuan. You may not be my biological son, but I want you to know this is your ho. We are your ho."

The celestial fox spirit felt sothing stirring in his chest—the remnant emotion of the late original Shen Yuan.

"Yes, I am happy and feel at peace now that I am here." He put the emotions into words. However, he couldn’t answer even a letter if he were asked the reason behind these feelings.

Why Shen Yuan left Yanyan is still a mystery for him; he just doesn’t feel the need to focus on unearthing it. But if he was given a chance to have so clues, he is opportunistic to take advantage of that.

"Dad, thank you so much for being warm towards . Honestly, I expected that you and Father hated for leaving Yanyan when he was young, so I..."

"Oh, you silly darling. How could I be angry at you when I know that you left not because of so selfishness? It was whom you begged to protect Yanyan when you were trembling with fear. There’s no way I will hate you."
