The minute Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng hit the ground, the chaos broke out like a shaken hornet’s nest, with screams, running feet, and panicked shouts echoing in every direction.
The approximately thirty kidnappers planned to escape hell out of there, much to the mbers of the Bai family’s confusion.
"Ohh!" Yanyan’s little mouth ford a small "O." This is the first ti he had seen bad guys run away without fighting first. It is incomprehensible to him.
He couldn’t help but ask in a loud voice, "Why are you suddenly running away when it was you who picked a fight with us? Only cowards leave the ss they made without saying sorry!"
The kidnappers who heard these questions couldn’t help but gnash their teeth.
Yes, they do want to teach whoever dared to spoil their operation a life-ending lesson. But that doesn’t an they will just attack whoever!
They have orders to never engage with S-class awakeners, especially Shen Yuan!
"Damn you!" A kidnapper with heteromorphic ability to transform his entire body into minerals roared at Yanyan.
The little boy stepped back in shock. He turned to hug his panda. His lips pouting, looking wronged. "B-Bad word! This guy hurled a bad word at !"
Yanyan’s word echoed loudly in the ssy battlefield. Too bad for the heteromorphic awakener; he didn’t know that offending the lone kid in the road is like painting a target behind his back.
"Arghhhh!" The man cried in pain. His entire body, which was reinforced with diamonds, was shaking in pain as Shen Yuan twisted his arm with a cold face.
"Hey... I brought out my kid to show him so real-life experiences. I really appreciate it if you do not harm him in any way," Shen Yuan strengthened his grip with magic, and the man’s diamond arm let out a miserable cracking sound.
"Ahhhhh!"
Shen Yuan smiled coldly. "Otherwise, I will make sure to grind all of you into paste or powder."
"Yes! Yes! I am sorry. I am—" The man’s pleas were abruptly cut short when the oga hurled him like a doll to the other side of the road.
"You okay?" Shen Yuan turned to his son. "Forget about the bad word he told you. I already taught him a lesson he will always rember for as long as he is alive."
Yanyan nodded, his eyes bright. "Don’t worry, Daddy. I didn’t take it to heart." The boy then jumped around like a bunny.
"Anyway, Daddy. You are so cool! Beat them all! Don’t let them get away. They are all bad guys."
Shen Yuan smirked. "Of course. That is the original plan anyway."
"My foxfire beasts!" Shen Yuan called the four remaining foxfire beasts to his side. "Secure the periter. Push them back to so that I could fix them up before their arrest!"
"Ao!" The foxfire beasts let out a malicious bark before they wildly ran around.
Shen Yuan then went to grab more fleeing kidnappers. Since most of their opponents are low-level awakeners, Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng didn’t use 100 percent of their powers.
Bai Tingfeng fought with his long sword still sheathed, while Shen Yuan fought with nothing but fists and kicks.
"Ha! It’s been a while since I went full-on Rambo mode. Can’t any of you make a worthy opponent?!" Of course, Shen Yuan’s signature trash talk made an appearance. He can’t help it, especially since he’s been suppressing his bloodthirst because of his pregnancy.
Pak! Shen Yuan unblinkingly slapped the consciousness of the pathetic swordsman who rushed to skewer him.
"Is there anyone here who is an A-class awakener? Kindly step up and fight !" Shen Yuan maniacally laughed.
Boom!
A male alpha with explosive muscles pathetically landed to his right, all bruised up.
"These people are nothing like the kidnappers that attacked Yanyan. They are small fries that are not even half as threatening as the ones we fought off before." Bai Tingfeng told his husband his observations.
Shen Yuan humd in agreent. "Well, in their defense, they didn’t even have an S-class awakener accompanying them. Rember, it was hard to fight Yanyan’s kidnappers because Haichong was there."
"Do you think they are with the Cardinals?" Bai Tingfeng asked.
"I think they are, but I am not so sure. Why don’t we ask them?" Shen Yuan suggested.
He flew towards a fleeing hooded figure and scooped them up like an eagle picking up its al.
"Ahhhhh! Let go!" The hooded woman cried angrily.
"Hi!" Shen Yuan greeted as if it were just a typical day. "You are the only female beta in this mix, so I will give you so privileges. How about saving everyone trouble by enlightening us? Why are you targeting Edison Wen?"
"Answer , and I’ll lower you back down—slow enough that you survive." Shen Yuan coldly said as the two of them were dangling in the air.
Looking down, Shen Yuan and the woman could clearly see that most of the kidnappers were neutralized. With Bai Tingfeng dancing, brandishing his sheathed sword around the battlefield. Every few minutes, a pair of ard awakeners kisses the ground with bruises.
"You’d better drop all hope that you and your fellow assailants would get away from us. Your group are virtually wiped out. If I were you, I would take the opportunity to save myself from the pain."
Shen Yuan loosened his grip on the woman’s cloak.
"Don’t! Don’t drop !" She pleaded pathetically. "We are nothing but a band of anti-fans who wanted to scare the life out of Edison Wen."
Shen Yuan squinted his foxlike eyes. "Oh? That is impressive. I guess you are a group of passionate haters with a sadistic thirst for inflicting extre harm."
"Yes! Yes! We just hate that man. He is a slimy bastard!" But then she felt the grip on her clothes loosening, "Whoa! Whoa! Why are you letting go? I am going to die if I drop from this height!"
Shen Yuan laughed dryly. "You think I am an idiot?"
"There are like 30 of you in just two vans. Everyone is ard enough to start a war, and yet you want to believe that you are just a sasaeng fan?!" Shen Yuan threw her up like a doll and then flew up to catch her.
"I think you are underestimating . Thus, don’t bla for not being polite to a lady."
Shen Yuan tossed her so high up in the sky that Yanyan, who was watching them from the ground, squinted to see what his dad was up to.
"Papa," He called Bai Tingfeng.
Bai Tingfeng took down the last standing enemies with a flick of his sword.
"What is it?" Bai Tingfeng asked, approaching his son.
"What is Daddy’s plan?" Yanyan pointed at the sky, where Shen Yuan and the enemy are as big as a dot.
The alpha looked up. His forehead creased. He had an idea what Shen Yuan was up to, but he couldn’t explain why he had to fly that high.
"Let’s just watch out for him." Bai Tingfeng said.
The barrier dimd, and the protective talisman turned into dust.
Bai Tingfeng, Yanyan, Yangyang and the foxfire beasts stood watching Shen Yuan do his thing.
Back in Shen Yuan, he was having a battle of nerves with the kidnapper. The higher they went, the rougher he treated her.
Honestly, it was a miracle that her black cloak remained in one piece despite the constant harsh pull.
For this very reason, he had more reason to suspect that this girl and her fellows were not as simple as she claid to be.
"Last chance, shit face." Shen Yuan held his enemy up using just his two fingers.
The cold, strong wind in the sky swayed her, threatening her fall to certain death.
"I-I..." The female beta trailed off.
Shen Yuan gritted his teeth in frustration. "I know what you are doing. Trying to buy ti. But you know what? I really don’t need to stress myself to make you divulge the truth, because I already know the forces working behind you."
"You are with the Cardinals, right?" Shen Yuan stated matter-of-factly instead of asking for confirmation.
The female beta beca dead silent. Shen Yuan smiled knowingly. "See. You don’t need to answer. I already know I am right."
The mana around the two shook, and a dark-green mist slowly seeped out of the sleeves of the woman’s cloak.
"Now, I can finally understand why we should never co close to you," She whispered, malice dripping from her every word.
"Oh, yeah?" Shen Yuan smiled at the enemy’s desperate yet late attempt to shake him off.
"You are so smug, Shen Yuan. And that is the reason why you made such a stupid mistake of taking ." The woman looked back at Shen Yuan. Her eyes seething with fury and murderousness.
"You should have pulled soone else. I am poisonous enough to kill you," She said before she grabbed Shen Yuan’s hand from above her head.
"Aw!" Shen Yuan felt a strong sting on his hand.
No, nothing pricked him, for her skin is the only thing that touches him. However, that is enough for the woman to use her awakened ability.
"I am a mage whose attribute was poison. I might be weak in combat, but I have the poison that is potent enough to kill an S-class awakener!" The woman laughed like a maniac. "If I am going to die, then might as well drag you with !"
