Shen Yuan took his ti to recover from the grueso scenes he had witnessed in the Diyu.
In his husband and son’s warm embrace, he took his much-needed nap. The fatigue and strain from the drug that entered his system pushed him into deep slumber the mont he relaxed. That is why, forget about the sex, all he can do for the day is sleep.
"Shhh..." Bai Tingfeng shushed Yanyan as he rose from the bed. He is trying his best to be discreet so as not to disturb his husband’s rest. He swiftly picked up his son and made his way out of the room without a sound.
"Papa. Why is Daddy so tired? This is the first ti I’ve seen Daddy so tired, he just dropped on the bed, snoring," Yanyan voiced out his childish musings.
The side of Bai Tingfeng’s lips raised, "Don’t let your Daddy hear what you said. Your Daddy does not like it when his snoring gets pointed out."
Yanyan straightened his posture, smartening up. "I will stop speaking about it." He zipped his lips. "But did sothing happen, Papa?"
Bai Tingfeng smiled at his persistent son. He led his son into the living room, where Yangyang—the mutated giant panda—lay motionless, sprawled out like a black-and-white rug while Nanny Lin was busy vacuuming the couch.
"Let’s just say that he had a rough and busy night last night. He had not slept for more than a day, so let’s give him ti to rest." Bai Tingfeng vaguely explained to his son.
Yanyan nodded his head, pouting. He then ran towards his lazing panda and buried his face on its tummy.
Hmp! His Papa did not want to tell him, but he knew the reason behind his Daddy’s tiredness. Xiaolun’s family opened their TV during breakfast, and he saw a report of last night’s accident.
It was only brief since Xiaolun’s Daddy smartly changed the channel, but he saw his Daddy’s magic and his Papa’s aura in the chaotic video clip captured from last night’s battle.
’Surely, the bad guys attacked, and Daddy had no choice but to fight them. I hate those bad guys! Once I grow bigger, I will teach them a hard lesson!’ Yanyan thought, pouting.
Yanyan hates fighting, and he also hates getting hurt. However, if danger keeps coming their way like this, it is inevitable for him to toughen up.
Unfortunately, he is just a runt who is about to enter kindergarten now. But if he were a little older, he would step up to help his parents without hesitation.
For now, Yanyan can only work to grow up strong and healthy. But he swore to himself that he would beat the butts of all the bad guys who gave his Daddy a hard ti.
Yanyan went up to his father and then turned to his mutated giant panda. "Papa, I will go out for a mont. Yangyang. Stand up! Let’s go for a workout!" The little boy borrowed the word his parents used when exercising. But his version of "workout" was nothing but running around the artificial lake and rolling around the garden.
The poor panda, who has just taken a nap, innocently blinked its eyes. "Ao?" It was not ready for any physical exertion. It is in procrastination mode.
Unlucky for it, the little boy was persistent. The panda just found itself rolling to Yanyan’s insistent pushes.
Never underestimate the power of a willful child.
"What on earth?" Bai Tingfeng watched his child go out. For so reason, he can see the shadow of his husband in that little back. For the first ti, although it was not blatant, he felt indignation from his cheery little boy.
He can’t cease recalling the mont he told Shen Yuan to do nothing when Haichong took Yanyan.
"The young master must be motivated to exercise because of his friend, Xiaolun. He ntioned that Xiaolun has started his mini survival training," Nanny Lin guessed.
Bai Tingfeng’s expression turned thoughtful. He wasn’t too surprised—he had already heard about the boys’ late-night swim.
The Wu family’s powers are always related to water, and thus, they always see to it that their young ones are introduced to the basics of swimming as early as five years old.
The Wu family’s thods are not that intense for a child. It is literally a mix of playing and sports, so he would not mind if Yanyan picked up sothing from that.
However, the silent determination and stubbornness tell Bai Tingfeng a different story. He could sense that the reason runs deeper than a child’s desire to play and a friend’s influence.
"His ti will co. There is no need to rush things," Bai Tingfeng said, smiling softly. "Nanny Lin, if you do not mind, can you keep an eye on Yanyan while he plays with his panda? I will just make a quick phone call."
Nanny Lin agreed. She quickly put away the vacuum and imdiately went after Yanyan, who was now rolling with his panda, Yangyang. "Young Master! You must not tumble in that part of the garden! The gardener had just placed so compost there!"
Bai Tingfeng cannot help but laugh at his silly son. Well, he is a kid. Let him touch dirt occasionally.
The alpha proceeded to do his thing. He pulled up Chairman Mao’s number from his phone and started calling the man.
"Hello? Chairman Mao?" Bai Tingfeng spoke up, his voice carrying its usual blend of politeness and professionalism.
Chairman Mao responded from the other line with his typical laid-back attitude. "Tingfeng, you are hurting our relationship if you continue talking like we are in a business summit. We are close, right? We literally just fought together against the Cardinals hours ago. Cut the politeness and be like your husband. Disrespect a little."
Bai Tingfeng pursed his lips, holding back the laughter. This is the sa guy who is capable of conjuring a storm. Who would’ve thought that such a mighty guy had a soft spot for being disrespected?
"Ehem," Bai Tingfeng cleared his throat. "Then I will speak a little comfortably. Shen Yuan will not make it to the press conference. The fatigue ca crashing down on him when we ca back. He is deep asleep now. I don’t think he will wake up before the press conference."
Chairman Mao cursed, "Damn it! Is it too late to ask you and your husband to be a little polite?"
Bai Tingfeng shook his head even though the senior alpha could not see him.
Chairman Mao sighed, "Well, on second thought, it is understandable that he collapsed. Yesterday was a hectic day for your family. It was Yanyan’s entrance exam, and all the accidents that happened later that night were far from relaxing. Surely, that will take a toll on ogas even if they are S-class awakeners."
Chairman Mao then rembered, "Oh, right. I didn’t get a chance to ask earlier due to all the urgent work, but is Shen Yuan doing okay? The drug did not leave serious aftereffects, I hope?"
"No. There are no aftereffects. He was just sleepy."
"Ha!" Chairman Mao laughed maniacally. "Do not tell he is pregnant now. I an, it has not been a day since—" He paused to censor his word. But regardless, the aning was properly conveyed, so he just laughed. "Hahahaha!"
Bai Tingfeng’s ears burn a little. "If we are fortunate, then all we can do is thank the heavens."
"Hmmmm, acting all reserved, but when it cos to pregnancy jokes, your face lights up like a light bulb." Chairman Mao jested. But his tone turned serious, "Well, on a more serious note, Shen Yuan can pass up the press conference because Shen Yuan’s presence there will only be used as a PR stunt by Pri Minister Mo. Spare yourself the trouble. Tell that to Shen Yuan."
Chairman Mao continued, "However, I encourage him to be present at the eting later. We finally got a copy of the CCTV footage in the Great Hall, and we can now narrow down the people who possibly drugged him. I might need Shen Yuan’s expertise in interrogation when the ti cos."
Bai Tingfeng leaked a small amount of his aura when he heard that. It was a white mist dancing on his shoulders. "Good. I am looking forward to eting the person who has the guts to plot against my husband."
"We may have lost so important prisoners, but I feel like we are closer to the truth. It will not be long before we finally get rid of those Cardinals." Chairman Mao said profoundly.
Bai Tingfeng wholeheartedly agreed. "Chairman Mao, you can count on my help until that day cos."
"Geehee," Chairman Mao’s smug smirk could be heard from the phone. "So, this ans I have another reliable S-class awakener at my beck and call, right? You cannot take back what you said to . This call is recorded."— even though it is not.
Bai Tingfeng shrugged his shoulders. "I ant what I said. It is for the sake of my family’s security anyway."
Bai Tingfeng laughed. This ti, genuinely delighted. "You know what? I pray that all your children will take after their alpha father. You are very easy to take advantage of— I an, you are a reliable and agreeable young man—"
"Nice talking to you, Chairman Mao. Goodbye," For the first ti, Bai Tingfeng spared Chairman Mao his politeness.
