It would be a lie if Shen Yuan said he hadn’t enjoyed the attention he’s been getting ever since he set foot in the Great Hall. The awe-struck look, envious murmurs, and admiring smile are supplents for vain souls like him.

"Would you like to cover my chest now, Bai Tingfeng," Shen Yuan whispered to his husband while maintaining a casual smile for the people greeting them.

Despite the many acquaintances approaching them, Bai Tingfeng stood firmly beside him without showing signs he would leave his side.

"It looks good. Why ruin the style?" Bai Tingfeng’s answer that surprised Shen Yuan.

"So, you are not jealous?" Shen Yuan cocked an eyebrow.

"Or maybe you are happy to show to everyone that you’re covering my nipples." The naughty celestial fox spirit pointed to the tiger embroidery in his buttoned undershirt.

Bai Tingfeng hid a small smile. "I love seeing you satisfied and confident with your chosen clothes. Yes, I feel jealous and possessive, but I don’t want to stop having fun. I’ll just suit myself hovering around you all night to ensure no one dares to lay their dirty paws on you."

Almost imdiately, Shen Yuan’s heart raced. That’s probably one of the most touching words said to him! So mature, Bai Tingfeng!

Bai Tingfeng slyly added, "Later, I want to see that shirt without this coat."

Shen Yuan let out a loud laugh, "You know what? I love it when you’re talking dirty to . Let’s find soplace private?"

Feeling flattered and naughty, Shen Yuan playfully pulled Bai Tingfeng’s arm but suddenly, a familiar obnoxious voice stopped him. "Where do you think you’re going? Aren’t you forgetting to greet your boss?"

Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng stopped in ti and saw Chairman Mao with his husband and Admiral Wu Jin approaching him. All three of them are dashingly dressed for the occasion,

Due to their chaotic friendship and unserious boss-employee relationship, Shen Yuan almost forgot that Chairman Mao was actually a good-looking old man.

His long ashen hair, which fell right on his left shoulder, was tied loosely with a blue ribbon. It gave a subtle gentlemanly touch to his always domineering aura.

As for the clothes, his tuxedo was almost the sa as that of his gentle-looking husband, Director Song of Qilin Academy, a gorgeous black tuxedo that perfectly fras their bodies. This pair of clothes makes it clear to everyone that they are together while showcasing the beautiful difference between an alpha and oga’s body.

Bai Tingfeng respectfully made a small bow to the two seniors. "Chairman Mao, Director Song, it was great to see you here. I always wanted to personally et you to express my gratitude for taking care of my family."

Director Song’s pleasant laughter rang. "I barely helped. There’s no need to thank , Tingfeng. You’re blooming, by the way. Guess life has been great to you."

Bai Tingfeng looked fondly at his Shen Yuan, "What can I say? I got everything I want and need."

Chairman Mao and Admiral Wu Jin involuntarily squird at Bai Tingfeng’s cheesy statent. Nobody is asking how much smitten you are!

"Hey, Wu family’s sacrificial lamb and my darling boss, you’re here teasing my man. Are you sure that everything is set?" Shen Yuan quickly defended his husband.

The two alpha’s smiles went fast. They jokingly pouted their lips, causing Shen Yuan to size them up from head to toe. What the heck?

"Really, Yuan? We are at a party and talking about work stuff?" Admiral Wu Jin.

Like a child, Chairman Mao clung to his husband as though he was asking for support, "Of course! I handled everything very well. I took note of the things you warned , and I can assure you, if the terrorists try to make a move tonight, we will get them."

"Glad to hear that. But still, it is best that nothing happens tonight. We don’t want to splash Wu Jin’s handso grey tux with sewer water. I heard his family hopes he ets his Cinderella at this banquet."

Admiral Wu Jin scrunched his face. "Hey! Not my love life, Yuan."

They all laughed at the Admiral’s face.

"Yuan, Tingfeng, I bet you are already tired after greeting other guests since you ca in. Why don’t we go to our table, shall we?" Director Song thoughtfully offered before the chaotic trio ran wild.

The S-class governnt employees glared fakely at each and in the end, they still obeyed Director Song like good students.

In all major parties, the seats of the four great families are always together, if not near each other.

Tonight’s banquet does not call for all mbers of the four great families to attend— only ones essentially involved in the dungeon and hunter industry.

With such a small number, it makes sense that the arrangent was close and intimate.

Shen Yuan would love to share a table with Chairman Mao, Director Song and Admiral Wu Jin. These three are his people.

But his eyebrows instantly clashed the mont his gaze landed on the most unwelcoming people in the world: the mother-and-son duo of Mo family, Mo Lihua and Mo Zhu.

"Chairman Mao, I thought you knew there’s a bad blood between and these unsavory guests. Why put us together in the sa table?" Shen Yuan whispered behind Chairman Mao.

He tried to be as discreet as possible just speaking through gritted teeth and a cheeky smile.

Little did he know, Bai Tingfeng’s expression turned grave. He still wasn’t over that Mo Lihua tried to hit his husband.

They used to have a cordial relationship but now, Bai Tingfeng is positive he can no longer greet the older guild master with a smile.

"Brother Tingfeng," Mo Zhu’s face automatically lit up like a lightbulb upon seeing Bai Tingfeng. He seed to want to stand up and walk towards Bai Tingfeng but ultimately threw the idea away when he saw Shen Yuan.

He awkwardly sat back while not erasing the lovestruck smile.

’Oh, how I wanted to wipe off that smile with the floor,’ Shen Yuan’s inner demons whispered deep inside.

The celestial fox spirit is not the jealous type, and he doesn’t see Mo Zhu as a threat, but ever since he and his mother ganged up on him in the headquarters, his tolerance to Mo Zhu’s crap plumted.

Oh, he shouldn’t be tolerant in the first place. Mo Zhu is blatantly gunning to be his husband’s mistress in his presence.

What is even crazier is that Mo Lihua, the so-called classy and sophisticated mother of the oga in question, is letting it happen!

"Ehem," Chairman Mao tried to diffuse the awkwardness by clearing his throat.

"Shen Yuan, et Mo Lihua. She was the one who helped arrange this banquet. She set up the venue and took care of the guest list while I took charge of the banquet’s program and security."

The old man’s motive to change the topic was comndable. However, it only made the atmosphere more unbearable.

Even Director Song, his husband, face pald himself. "Oh, darling. You should have kept your mouth shut..."

The Bai-Shen couple stared ridiculously at Chairman Mao. "Seriously, Boss?"

"What is going on?" Oblivious Wu Jin asked.

Of course, nobody is willing to explain what is up. Poor Wu Jin stood haplessly, awkward.

Kreeek!

Shen Yuan noisily pulled himself into a chair and sat with awe-spiring poise. He just went with it despite seeing that the na on the front of it says it was reserved for Admiral Wu Jin.

"This banquet follows a designated seating. That seat you took is not yours." Mo Lihua pointed out sharply, which caused a collective gasp from everyone but Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng.

The celestial fox spirit eyed her calmly and violently all at the sa ti.

He smiled with silent murderousness.

"Oh, that was weird. Maybe my na was mistakenly printed as Wu Jin’s," Shen Yuan exaggeratedly shrugged his shoulders. "I an, look around. I can’t see a single character of my na in this table."

At this ti, everyone finally understands what is going on. Chairman Mao’s forehead showed lines of confusion and suppressed anger. "That can’t be. I double-checked it before I went to you. Your seat was—"

Chairman Mao paused and suspiciously eyed Mo Lihua.

Everyone around the table didn’t need to ask. They tacitly traced the dots that point to Mo Lihua as the architect of the inconvenience. She possesses the motive and ans to execute it, even with her eyes closed. Nobody can argue otherwise.

Well, except his beloved son. "My mom didn’t do it—"

"—No one is saying she did," Shen Yuan quickly cut Mo Zhu off. "But thank you for clarifying it."

"What do you an by that?!"

"Zhu-er, don’t argue with a bullheaded dog. You’ll never win against them." Mo Lihua silenced her son. "We can’t shove class and finesse down people’s throats— even though so badly needed it."

Shen Yuan snorted, "Yeah, power tripping and putting everyone at this table in an uncomfortable situation is a really classy move, sister. Thankfully, I held myself back from calling you a bitch for it."

"Oh!" Wu Jin involuntarily gasped. What the hell is going on?!

"You dare!" Livid and shad, Mo Lihua angrily stood up from her seat. She’s all ready to set Shen Yuan on fire. However, before she could do so, a strong, domineering presence overpowered her.

"I think it will be a good idea if we all take a seat now. Don’t you think so, Guild Master Mo?"
