The thing is, Shen Yuan has been eavesdropping in this conference room with his powers. He was curious about these new colleagues of his.

But who would have thought that he would hear so tea? Bai Tingfeng’s forr prospective marriage partner? It was news to him, but thinking of the nature of how the original Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng beca couples, it absolutely makes sense.

"Shen Yuan!" Admiral Wu Jin stood up and flashed a smile towards him. However, it instantly got erased in the mory of their previous eting. The big alpha male subconsciously reached to his waist, where the oga rcilessly pinched him.

"Admiral Wu, looking good today too, I see," Shen Yuan wasn’t petty today to this new acquaintance and greeted him with a smile.

This effortless smile instantly attracted most people inside the conference room. Well, except for the only oga present except Shen Yuan.

"Brother Feng," the red-haired oga uttered in a trance as his stare never left Bai Tingfeng, who just happened to enter the room. Following him was Assistant Su and Gu Jinpeng, whose hands were full of paper bags with the logo of a popular five-star restaurant.

"Huh? BROTHER. FENG?" Shen Yuan whipped his head and looked sharply from the oga and then to his big husband. He said those words with great emphasis that a bump appeared on his jaw due to clenching it.

"Mo Zhu. It’s nice to et you," Bai Tingfeng greeted casually. His tone wasn’t intimate at all, but at least Shen Yuan could sense so familiarity from it.

And he must admit, the re thought of that feels like there’s a nail scratching the walls of his logic.

Almost naturally, Bai Tingfeng then turned to him and introduced the red-hair oga, his eyes as pure as an innocent child when saying his simple words.

"Yuan, this is Mo Zhu. He’s a family friend of ours."

"Oh, okay. I was thinking along the lines. Didn’t expect that I am right," he ironically responded, full of underhanded passive-aggressiveness.

But it was not ant for Bai Tingfeng. It was directed to Mo Zhu, whom he’s been looking at all this ti.

"Nice to et you, Mo Zhu— the family friend. I’m Shen Yuan. Bai Tingfeng’s husband," he smugly smirked and offered his hand for a very friendly handshake.

Mo Zhu confidently stood on his ground and t Shen Yuan’s eyes with an obstinate stare down. He seed calm and collected, but Shen Yuan could see past the glint in his eyes.

This oga is internally clawing his face.

"I’m Bai Tingfeng’s close childhood friend," he responded and took Shen Yuan’s hand. When nobody could see their hands, he channeled his power and conjured small, fierce flas that would burn Shen Yuan’s hands.

But little did he know, the celestial fox spirit saw through this bogus ahead of ti. Shen Yuan utilized a minuscule fraction of Heavenly Foxfire to counter Mo Zhu without anyone noticing it, but of course, he made sure that it would be felt by this mischievous wannabe that he’s not soone to be easily trifled with.

"Ah!" Mo Zhu hurriedly pulled his hand away. It stings! It felt as if his palms touched a flaming, red crucible!

He tearily shook it and inspected it but saw no fire.

"You!" He angrily called out Shen Yuan, only to be t by cold blue eyes.

Proud Mo Zhu was automatically silenced, feeling the overwhelming power from that single stare.

"Yes? Do you need anything, Mo Zhu, the family friend?" Asked Shen Yuan while sporting an amiable smile.

But deep in his head, he is seething and growling, "Dare to be aggressive with to steal my husband? You wouldn’t get away with it unscathed. Not a fat chance."

The celestial fox spirit doesn’t give a fuck if he is a pri minister’s family mber. Hell, he would even kick him in the butt, even if he is the son, as long as he keeps up this annoying act.

He threw a side eye at the crimson-haired oga.

Mo Zhu seed to be quite shaken, so he ultimately shrugged his shoulders at this lightweight opponent and said, as casually as possible. "Oh, Dear. You seed pale. Are you hungry? Fortunately, I decided to grab so light snacks on my way here."

"Gu Jinpeng," he motioned the ex-assassin to give the Pork Stead Buns to Mo Zhu and everyone in the room.

"Gentlen, I know it’s already past noon, and you might have already eaten lunch. But I hope you appreciate this small effort of mine. This is just my way of saying I look forward to working with you," he stated with his charming dimple in sight.

Shen Yuan looked at each one of the people present. There were six. Quite a few from what he had in mind.

Also too young to be, in his opinion, to be the expert that Chairman Mao told him about.

The celestial fox spirit fleetingly examined his colleagues. And realized that each of them—although young, have considerable strength.

He is familiar with Admiral Wu Jin, so he only lightly gazed at him. Mo Zhu earned his spite today, so he didn’t even look at him when uttering his pleasantries.

Everyone except Wu Jin is familiar to him. That is what Shen Yuan thought until his eyes landed on the only beta in the room.

"Oh! I t you during the Awakener Test!" He said, slightly pitched. The man may or may not be wearing the sa black suit and dark-rimd glasses, but he is certain that this is the sa alpha who helped him knock out Zhou Kai!

"You’re The Poltergeist. If I’m not mistaken?"

Admiral Wu Jin, who forgot his grievance with Shen Yuan, laughed.

"Shen Yuan, that’s just the Title given to him by the public. He’s Xia Jinhai, the youngest S-Class Awakener of Country C. People called him the Poltergeist because of his absolute power over telekinesis."

Xia Jinhai politely stood up and smirked a little at Shen Yuan.

"Not anymore. Shen Yuan already took the title of the youngest S-Class Awakener."

Bai Tingfeng silently nodded. His husband is only 24 this year, and as far as he knows, Xia Jinhai is 25 years old— turning 26 this year.

Shen Yuan thoughtfully t the beta’s eyes, and he oddly felt familiar with this person.

"Wait, pardon for asking, but do you happen to know way before we t in the arena?"

Xia Jinhai pushed his eyeglasses through the bridge of his nose. Accidentally or purposefully, this covered his eyes with reflection, forbidding Shen Yuan from seeing what emotion crossed in those little windows of the soul.

"Probably? Barely?" Xia Jinhai mysteriously responded.

"Oh, you guys are from the sa batch in Qilin Academy. You’re classmates even," Admiral Wu Jin answered truthfully.

Xia Jinhai shot an annoyed glance at the alpha. This is the reason why he never liked hanging around this eccentric alpha!

He internally sighed, "And so he said. Anyway, Shen Yuan. Chairman Mao still hasn’t returned from a lunch eting, so sit comfortably here and wait for him."

"Oh, is that so? Okay," Shen Yuan he didn’t want to appear rude in this first eting, so he instantly agreed. But in his head, he’s thinking of ways to troll Chairman Mao once again. The old man’s smug "Well Played" is still fresh in his mind. There’s no way he will let that go.

Shen Yuan then turned to Gu Jinpeng and Assistant Su. "You guys, too, pull yourself a chair and settle yourself nicely and comfortably."

Bai Tingfeng imdiately pulled a swivel chair for Shen Yuan before sitting down. He was utterly oblivious to the fact that his movents were followed by the Mo Zhu, with hurt apparent in his eyes.

Shen Yuan waltzed his way and sat without a fuss. Not even minding to throw a glance at the other oga. This was the mont when he could feel his silky platinum hair flawlessly waving in his every move.

Shen Yuan treated Mo Zhu like air and started getting to know the other three n through a pleasant and outgoing conversation that involved everyone.

Everyone was having a light, stress-free ti at first, that is until Mo Zhu decided to point at Assistant Su and Gu Jinpeng.

"Wait, are they even allowed to be here in the first place? The two of them were not part of this eting, as far as I’m concerned," Mo Zhu suddenly said.

"They ca with , and they are the ones who held your Pork Stead Buns. Is there a problem?" Shen Yuan asked back. The angle of his eyebrow looked critical.

He really isn’t keen on starting sothing now, but if pushed, he wouldn’t mind grabbing soone’s head and cleaning the floor with that person’s thick face.

"There is. People invited by Chairman Mao should be the people seated in this room, and they are not. You are challenging Chairman Mao’s authority by letting them in."

"Mo Zhu, that’s too much. Cut it out," Bai Tingfeng said in a reprimanding tone. Assistant Su is a close companion for him, so he cos into his person’s defense.

"But Brother Feng, I’m correct." Mo Zhu replied in a pinched voice, acting coquettishly cute even if he was not.

And that just flipped the switch.

Shen Yuan completely wiped away his smile and hit the table with a bang, "Ha! This impertinent brat! Would you shut your fucking mouth before I weld them together?!"
