For a mont, Haruto's gaze t with that of one particular little loli.

The girl quickly ducked her head.

Clearly panicked.

From this alone, it was easy to infer what kind of impression the adult humans of this world had left on them.

Haruto couldn't help but furrow his brow.

This world was deeply irrational, wasn't it?

As the chairman of the SCP Foundation—and the potential dictator of his main world—After managing the main world and witnessing countless parallel realities—

Haruto had developed a fairly deep understanding of human nature.

Humans are xenophobic. They fear power they themselves do not possess, and they harbor an exceptionally dark side. These were facts Haruto was well aware of. But—humanity also has a courageous side, a side of light.

The song of humanity is a song of courage.

This, the Foundation's many staff mbers had proven with their actions. Though the Cursed Children possessed great power, and the risk of transformation did exist—At the sa ti, they were easy to manage, the risk wasn't high, and… they were adorable.

In this world, human society's hatred toward the Cursed Children was wildly disproportionate. Moreover, humans are naturally more tolerant toward younglings and cute things.

As Haruto pondered this—

Satomi Rentaro's voice pulled him back to the mont.

"Nice to et you. My na's Satomi Rentaro. Thank you for saving Miss Kisara."

Haruto withdrew his gaze and looked at the boy who bowed before him.

He patted Satomi Rentaro on the shoulder.

Sigh… poor kid. You've got a long road ahead of you.

Satomi Rentaro was utterly baffled.

Why did it feel like he was just being pitied for his fate?

Still, since this man had saved his dear friend, Satomi Rentaro chose to politely overlook the odd mont.

"Though we're already within the protected zone of the Monolith, we should still head into Tokyo as soon as possible," he said solemnly.

Tendo Kisara nodded in agreent.

Haruto glanced once more toward the sewer, where one or two little lolis peeked timidly out.

"You two go on ahead. I'll check on the children."

As he said this, Haruto leapt directly into the sewer below.

This made Tendo Kisara and Satomi Rentaro both widen their eyes in shock.

That sewer was at least ten ters deep. If a normal person jumped down, they'd at the very least break a bone—or worse, die on the spot.

The two of them hurried over to the edge and looked down.

And there they saw—

Haruto had landed smoothly and was walking casually, like nothing had happened.

"Miss Kisara, this guy…"

Satomi Rentaro really wanted to ask where she found this monster.

However, Tendo herself wanted to ask the sa thing. Still, rembering how Haruto had effortlessly killed a Stage Three Gastrea earlier…

This hardly seed all that shocking in comparison.

After a brief mont of silence, the two of them descended using a ladder fixed to the wall.

anwhile, the group of little lolis who had seen Haruto jump down—Scattered like startled birds and fled in all directions.

They hid within the shadows of the sewer.

From the darkness, pairs of crimson eyes shone brightly.

Haruto took a few steps toward them, then stopped. Then, with a gesture, he reached into the air. From his Kamui space, he retrieved so food.

Opening a few cans of at, he placed them on the ground ahead of him.

Then stepped back a couple of paces.

The scene was like baiting stray cats with treats.

From the darkness, those red eyes flickered.

"Food… and it slls like at… it slls so good…"

"What do we do? Should we go for it? Ahh, whatever!"

"Hey! Get back here! You'll get beaten!"

Whispers erged from the shadows.

But one little loli couldn't resist the temptation and darted out.

She was incredibly fast—probably clocked a 100-ter dash in under eight seconds.

Snatching up two cans of at, she ran back into hiding.

More rustling and hushed discussions followed in the dark.

What surprised Haruto—

Was that these lolis didn't imdiately dig into the cans.

Even though they were drooling—

They didn't run back out for more either.

Instead, led by one little loli, they all ca out together.

The leading loli had long golden hair and the crimson eyes unique to Cursed Children. Her clothes were torn and ragged, and for so reason, her head was wrapped with a piece of cloth.

Holding the two cans, she walked back over to Haruto.

"Um… this is your food. We shouldn't have taken it. I'm sorry."

She returned the precious cans.

Even though her eyes were practically glued to them.

"It's fine," Haruto replied. "These are for you. So eat them. I brought plenty more, so no need to hold back. Oh, and here—so spoons, too."

As he spoke, Haruto took out even more at cans and a handful of spoons.

Hearing that, the little lolis all revealed looks of disbelief.

They had never heard of anyone willingly giving food to a Cursed Child. Let alone sothing as precious as at.

They couldn't even suspect it was poisoned—

Because even if it was poison, no one would waste at on them.

To most humans, their lives were worth less than a can of at.

"Is… is it really okay? Such precious food, for us Cursed Children…"

The golden-haired loli asked while gulping down saliva.

Haruto reached out his hand.

She flinched and almost ran. But she forced herself to stay still—only tightly closing her eyes.

No punch ca. No pain.

Haruto gently patted her head.

"Go ahead and eat. It's alright."

Feeling that gentle head pat—

The golden-haired loli almost burst into tears.

With Haruto's reassurance, the other little lolis also ca forward, accepted the spoons, and began to eat.

All of them devoured the food like starving animals.

They had little choice.

They could barely get any food at all.

The Tokyo district didn't provide them with regular rations. At best, they'd throw out moldy scraps once in a while.

Let alone at.

Just then, Tendo and Rentaro finally reached the bottom.

They were stunned by the sight before them.

"Wait… did you have all this food on you? Whoa, it's at cans—can I have one?" Kisara asked, her voice full of surprise, and… a bit of drool.

She couldn't help it—she was broke.

It had been months, maybe even a whole year since she'd last had at.

Haruto rolled his eyes.

"You seriously gonna fight these kids for food?"

At his words, Kisara glanced at the surrounding lolis.

And gave up.

As tempting as it was, she wasn't that depraved.

But then—

The golden-haired loli offered her still-unopened can to Kisara.

"Big sis, you can have mine. I'm not hungry."

She held out the at can, forcing a smile.

Kisara fell silent.

Even her appetite vanished.

She gently pushed the can back and, imitating Haruto, softly patted the golden-haired loli's head.

Satomi Rentaro quietly watched from the side, his eyes shining.

His gaze toward Haruto beca even more respectful.

After all, in this society, people who didn't discriminate against the Cursed Children were already rarer than phoenix feathers.

Let alone soone who would give out precious food to them.

So… there really are still good people in this world, Rentaro thought.

Sensing Satomi Rentaro's gaze, Haruto glanced at him.

Though the guy hadn't said anything, Haruto could roughly guess what he was thinking.

But he silently shook his head.

He was nothing like the "good person" Rentaro imagined.

"By the way, I still don't know your na," Kisara asked.

She was now even more determined to recruit Haruto into her company. Not only was he a treasure trove of potential—his personality was a perfect fit too.

If she let him slip away now, she'd regret it for life.

"Takamine Haruto," he replied casually.

Before long, the group of little lolis had all finished their cans. Their gazes toward Haruto no longer held any fear or suspicion.

One after another, they even tried to cuddle up to him.

Not because they were naïve.

Quite the opposite—these girls were far more mature than their age suggested.

And precisely because of that, they knew—

Haruto was soone who truly treated them kindly.
