"This world... is quite good!"
Initially, George had so reservations about his new avatar being a cat rather than a human. However, after reviewing Jinjin's mories and understanding the situation in this new world, those concerns vanished.
In this world, magic was so widespread that it ant the magical system here was likely highly developed—perfect for increasing his power.
"But this 'Fairy Tail'... why does it sound so familiar?"
George combed through mories of his past life, feeling as though he'd heard that na before, but he couldn't recall the exact details.
"Maybe it's from sothing I never watched or read."
He had already traveled through the Marvel universe, a world he knew from comics and films, and the second world, Harry Potter, was from books and movies. So, this third world must also be based on so piece of fiction.
The difference was that he'd seen the first two, but not this one. Perhaps he had co across the na "Fairy Tail" at so point, which is why it felt familiar.
In his previous life, George had been born in the '80s, and his childhood mories consisted of black-and-white TV shows. He enjoyed kung fu and wuxia films during his school days and leaned more toward Hollywood blockbusters once he started working.
Given his busy school life and work schedule, it wasn't surprising he had missed many popular works.
Though he regretted not being familiar with this world, which ant he lost the advantage of knowing the storyline, George wasn't too bothered. Whether the situation was favorable or not, giving up was never an option.
Besides, he had the perk of sharing his abilities across avatars, which was already a significant advantage.
"Flarevito!"
George, now in his cat form, waved his paws and uttered the spell. A few seconds later, a leaf in front of him transford into a blade as thin as a cicada's wing.
It was clear this cat body had inherited a wizard's bloodline, vastly increasing its magical power.
With another wave, he used his magnetic ability to control the blade, making it spin rapidly in midair. In an instant, it sliced a tree branch as thick as an arm clean in two.
His magnetic and telekinetic abilities had carried over as well.
Simultaneously, George's primary body in the Marvel universe and his avatar in the Harry Potter world felt their magical energy beco a little more potent. While the cat's magical power wasn't imnse, it provided a noticeable boost.
However, this magic wasn't the crucial part. What truly mattered was the cat's innate magic—"Wings."
Both George's main body and his avatars closed their eyes, activating the Wing Magic for the first ti.
In an instant, a pair of pure white wings appeared on their backs. If a normal person were to see this, they'd likely think an angel had descended to earth.
With a gentle flap of his wings, George's body lifted effortlessly into the air.
Previously, his flight depended on using magnetic fields to manipulate the tal plates in his shoes, making him hover slowly. Now, he could achieve real high-speed flight, suitable for combat.
High-speed aerial mobility ant securing air superiority, a huge boost to his overall combat ability.
"Since I've inherited your body, it's only right that I avenge you first."
After testing his new form, George—now in his cat avatar—soared into the air and began searching for the three dark mages from the illegal guild who had killed Jinjin.
The Dark Mage Guilds were unrecognized, rogue guilds, much like assassin or terrorist organizations. The dark mages mainly took on criminal jobs, such as murder and robbery.
The three dark mages who had killed Jinjin weren't especially skilled. If Jinjin hadn't run out of magical energy during flight and fallen, they might not have managed to kill him.
George didn't have that worry. With his wizard's bloodline, his magic would never be exhausted. He could fly for twenty-four hours straight without needing rest.
Plus, with his magical powers and superhuman abilities, defeating them wouldn't be too difficult—and if it ca to that, he could always escape.
Of course, avenging Jinjin was only one goal. More importantly, George needed money.
In every world, survival without money was nearly impossible. The small fortune Jinjin had saved from selling magical herbs had been looted by the dark mages.
By taking out these dark mages, George could not only reclaim Jinjin's money but also steal whatever wealth the dark mages had.
"Found them!"
Half an hour later, George spotted the three dark mages sitting on a patch of grass in the forest, enjoying roasted fish.
He didn't rush in recklessly but landed a short distance away from them, carefully preparing his next move.
Based on Jinjin's mories, these three mages had distinct abilities: one used Requip Magic to summon magical weapons for close combat; another specialized in fire magic for long-range attacks; and the third was proficient in wind magic, capable of binding opponents with wind—exactly how Jinjin had been caught, preventing him from flying away.
"Flarevito!"
"Serpensortia!"
Using Transfiguration Magic, George transford nearby leaves into blades, needles, and wires—his usual weapons of choice. Then, he cast the snake summoning spell, producing hundreds of venomous snakes ready for action.
He waited patiently until the three dark mages rose, preparing to leave. That's when George launched his sneak attack.
His first target was the wind mage. Controlling an almost imperceptible steel needle, he waited for the perfect mont. When the mage let his guard down, the needle pierced through his ear, burrowing into his brain and scrambling it. The wind mage dropped dead instantly.
Eliminating the wind mage was crucial. Without him, George could fly freely, even if the fight didn't go in his favor.
The sudden death of their comrade imdiately alerted the other two mages. As George attempted to use the steel needle on them, the lee mage quickly summoned two swords and deflected the needle midair.
"Who dares attack us, the mages of Death's Fang?!"
"Looks like mages are definitely in a league of their own," George thought, observing their swift reaction.
At this point, George intentionally flew out from the trees, drawing their attention.
With his current level of magnetic power, he could easily control a steel needle at full force, and even if soone was alert, they wouldn't typically be fast enough to dodge. However, this lee mage was no ordinary person. His strength, speed, and reflexes were all enhanced by magic, allowing him to deflect the needle with his sword at the first sign of danger.
Had the wind mage been on guard from the start, George doubted he could have taken him out so easily.
"It's that golden cat! How are you still alive?"
The lee mage's eyes widened in disbelief. He clearly rembered stabbing this golden cat with his sword. How had it survived?
George didn't respond. Instead, while the two dark mages were still in shock, he controlled five or six razor-sharp blades, sending them spinning toward his enemies.
"Do you really think this weak attack can hurt ?"
The lee mage reacted swiftly, turning his swords into a flurry of afterimages. With precise movents, he deflected every single blade—none of which were as fast or as powerful as the needle he had deflected earlier.
"If you didn't die last ti, I'll just kill you again!"
The fire mage, protected by his comrade, spread his arms wide. A red magic circle ford before him.
"Fire Whirlwind!"
A massive fla erupted from the magic circle, spiraling into a fiery tornado that surged toward George.
