"An Outer God from a different dinsion?"
"An Outer God?"
Lothar was well acquainted with the concept of the multiverse.
However, according to Woz’s data, the dinsions where these demonic entities dwell resembled more of a subspace tethered to this universe, rather than realms of an entirely different cosmos.
This realization cald Lothar’s sudden excitent. Hela, who had been silently observing the entire exchange, raised a surprised brow. She couldn’t quite understand what in that data had so thoroughly ignited Lothar’s fervor just monts ago.
"But why would an Outer God target Midgard now?"
Among the Nine Realms, only Jotunheim remained in defiance, every other realm had fallen under Asgard’s rule. As the rightful heir to the throne of Asgard, Hela would never tolerate the encroachnt of any Outer God upon Asgardian soil.
Confused but resolute, Hela swept her long black hair back into battle form. With a flourish of her arms, two gleaming spears materialized in her hands.
Outer Gods were invaders. And invaders were ant to be slain. That was the only path.
"Woz, can you detect the Flerken’s signal from here?"
Lothar had no intention of echoing Hela’s possessive outlook.
"I’m sorry, Prince Lothar. I still can’t track the collar’s signal," Woz replied.
Even Woz found this strange. The locator on the Flerken’s collar wasn’t damaged, its panel showed all systems functioning normally. So why couldn’t they locate it?
Logically, even if the signal were being jamd, the system should have at least issued a warning.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Just as Lothar was trying to figure out where to begin the search, three deep drumbeats resounded in his ears.
His heartbeat, steady a mont ago, suddenly surged, pounding violently within his chest. A rush of adrenaline surged through him like a tidal wave!
Rhythmic music followed closely on the heels of the drumming, and the triumphant blare of a horn heralded a rapturous celebration.
What is this?!
Clutching his chest as a sharp pain wracked his body, Lothar’s eyes widened in disbelief.
The power behind this magic wasn’t overwhelming. And yet—why?
His own energy was steadily falling silent beneath the sway of the music. His limbs weakened, and yet, an uncontrollable urge to dance overtook his mind.
It was as though a whisper tickled his ear, as if a silhouette, its features obscured, was dancing with beguiling grace before him.
"Prince Lothar, it’s magic!"
A burst of ultrasonic analysis decoded the spellwork embedded in the music almost instantly. From his waist pouch, Woz swiftly pulled out two large speakers and slamd them into the snow.
An opposing wave of sound, completely antithetical to that of the subdinsional sound magic, blasted outward, instantly shattering the illusion clouding both Hela and Lothar’s vision.
"We got it!"
Like Woz, The Other, a half-chanical lifeform, possessed a natural immunity to sonic magic.
Outer Gods, is it?
Lothar glanced back coldly at Woz, who waved with a cheeky grin. In response, he summoned a barrier of energy around his ears, enough to mute even magical harmonics.
Whoosh!
Radiant golden light enveloped Lothar as he rocketed into the sky, streaking toward the source of the magical resonance and crashing down in a blazing pillar of brilliance!
"Co out and face !"
BOOM!!!
Lothar’s brash aura cracked through the solemn chanting of the Midgardian villagers.
Upon the ancient and mystic altar, the hooded worshippers, arrayed around a bronze cauldron, glanced at one another. With eerie synchronicity, they pulled back their black hoods, revealing pale, lifeless faces.
"owwwww!!!!"
From inside the cauldron, tied tightly to a gleaming silver cross, a bright-orange cat let out a pained wail. The mont it saw Lothar, its eyes lit up in desperate hope. The cry it released pierced the air, a mingling of heartache and exhaustion from days spent hiding and fleeing.
"ow!! ow~!"
"The Flerken?"
"I see... So the signal was masked by magic from another dinsion?"
Noticing the collar still fastened around the Flerken’s neck, Lothar quickly understood.
That explained why the tracking device hadn’t been damaged or jamd, yet still failed to locate the creature.
"No one will interfere with our ritual. No one will stop the coming of our great god!"
"Peach!"
"Shore!"
"Gold!"
"Dragon!"
The lead priest raised both hands, surging with arcane power. Complex, ancient seals flashed from his fingertips, and four crimson magical arrays materialized before Lothar, spinning ominously.
From each array, figures erged—clad in red, blue, gold, and violet—charging from the east, west, south, and north, aiming directly for Lothar!
The altar’s music still echoed through the mountain air.
Within the cauldron, the orange Flerken glared at the bubbling sacrificial liquid rising ever closer. Its tail curled instinctively, and what should’ve been a cute, round face contorted into a ferocious snarl!
The Flerken’s latent power flared once more, only to be imdiately snuffed out by the spellbinding runes carved into the cross.
A sonic spell that can bypass an energy barrier?
Even with a shield blocking external sound, Lothar could still make out fragnts of the lody. His brows furrowed.
Still, this much... won’t matter.
Prepared now, his body no longer faltered as it had before.
"Lothar! Stop! Do you intend to destroy this world?!"
Hela stord onto the scene, fury in her voice. She had arrived just in ti to see Lothar gathering a trendous wave of energy.
Midgard was Asgardian territory now.
Her territory.
"Silence."
Lothar’s gaze remained cold. He raised his right hand and slamd it into the ground!
A wave of raw power erupted outward, centering on Lothar. The earth trembled violently. The stone pillars supporting the altar shattered like brittle bones. The ancient bronze cauldron, carved with mystical patterns, exploded into shards!
"ow!!"
Freed from the shattered silver cross, the Flerken twisted midair. Using the falling debris as platforms, it leapt with feline grace, landing squarely on Lothar’s shoulder in a flash of orange.
"Who dares?!"
"Who dares interfere with my descent?!"
From the shattered altar, in the heart of the void, a single snow-white arm burst into existence—stretching across the deep blue sky like a divine lance.
Blizzards howled, blanketing the heavens.
The imnse power swirling in the air caused Lothar’s golden aura to blaze even brighter!
He considered for a mont, this so-called Outer God might just be a worthy fight.
"Outer God..."
"Get back!"
"Back to the abyss you crawled from!"
But just then, a youthful voice rang out.
Under the watchful eyes of both Lothar and Hela, a strikingly handso young man erged from a glowing crimson array, forming seals with his fingers as he rose gracefully from the center.
Scarlet light erupted across the sky like heavenly blades, cleaving through the void and severing the Outer God’s arm in a single flash!
The deafening roar that followed, whether from agony or wrath, was swallowed by the blizzard and scattered to the winds.
