Not only did Alex locate the captured X-n—
he also noticed strange tallic collars locked around each of their necks.
He didn't know the exact model, but he could guess:
Suppression collars.
Tech specifically designed to restrain mutant abilities.
Given that Kang had conquered countless tilines and universes, it was hardly surprising that he possessed counter-mutant technologies.
All five X-n looked miserable—
dirty, wounded, exhausted—
but alive.
That was enough for Alex to finally exhale in relief.
Now that he'd confird their safety…
It was ti to settle the score with Kang.
---
Alex's eyes shifted from his friends' holding cells to the man responsible—
the one sitting on a throne of stolen ti and stolen worlds:
Conqueror Kang.
Inside his command chamber, Kang was unleashing volcanic fury upon MODOK.
"USELESS!"
"MODOK, I thought you might have improved by now—yet you are STILL trash!"
"I sent you to retrieve three people. Three!"
"And I equipped you with an entire fleet!"
"But what happened, hmm?!"
Kang snapped his arm through the air—
WHAM!
MODOK was lifted as if struck by an invisible hamr,
slamd into a wall hard enough to crack it.
And the pressure didn't stop.
The air rippled as an invisible force crushed down on MODOK's war-suit, warping the tal with loud crackling noises.
Alex raised an eyebrow.
Telekinesis.
But then he noticed the truth—
Kang's wrist device pulsed with blue-green light each ti he used that power.
It wasn't a mutation.
It was future tech—likely centuries ahead of anything Earth had seen.
---
"Th-that man… Alex… he's really strong!"
"He destroyed our entire fleet!"
"With ONE gesture… I swear—!"
MODOK scread, desperate to justify himself.
Kang's irritation vanished—
replaced by icy disbelief.
"One gesture?"
"You dare spout such childish nonsense to cover your failure?"
He flicked his hand downward—
THUD!
MODOK hit the floor like a sack of scrap tal.
---
Before Kang could continue his interrogation, alarms blared through the chamber.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Followed by—
shrieking energy bolts, explosions, and flashes of light outside.
"Soone is invading the citadel!"
Kang turned sharply toward the tactical display.
His brow furrowed.
Who would dare?
The entire Quantum Realm was under his absolute control.
Could it be Jentorra's rebels?
Impossible.
He had crushed them countless tis; they survived only by hiding in the cracks of a broken world.
They did not have this kind of firepower.
So then—
Who?
With a flick of his hand, holographic displays unfolded in the air.
And Kang saw—
A lone man.
A single figure walking calmly through the storm of blaster fire.
Hundreds of armored drones fired relentlessly,
their shots forming a wall of energy so dense it obscured the corridor behind him.
And the man simply walked forward—
completely unhard.
---
"Who… is he?"
For the first ti in a very, very long while,
Kang felt genuine shock.
Even for a conqueror of infinite worlds, this sight was unsettling.
MODOK, trembling on the floor, looked up at the projection—
and shrieked:
"IT'S HIM! IT'S ALEX!"
"He's here! HE CA ALL THE WAY HERE!"
"What?!"
Kang's voice jumped an octave.
"This is the one who defeated you?
The sa one who destroyed an entire fleet?"
Earlier he thought MODOK was exaggerating…
but now?
Now he saw it with his own eyes.
---
"Interesting."
A dark grin crawled across Kang's face.
"For years no one strong enough to amuse has appeared."
"I had begun to think this Realm was too small to offer challenges."
"But YOU…"
"My, my… you might be worth conquering."
With arrogance befitting his title, Kang rose from his throne—
ready to et this "Alex" head-on.
But—
He didn't get the chance.
---
BOOM!
A sonic crack echoed—
Alex vanished from the projection.
And in the sa instant—
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!
All the chanized soldiers in that hallway—
exploded at once.
Not toppled.
Not shattered.
Obliterated.
Like toys smashed by a god in a mont of boredom.
---
"What… just happened…?"
Kang's pupils contracted violently.
"One second…
he destroyed… dozens of combat drones… in ONE second?"
"How is that even—?!"
Kang had encountered countless superhumans across countless tilines.
But this—
this was beyond anything he'd seen.
In one instant, the conqueror's arrogance shattered—
replaced by sothing he rarely experienced:
fear.
---
BOOM!!
The wall of the command chamber exploded outward.
Debris rained across the floor.
And Alex stepped through the smoking gap—
standing casually before both Kang and MODOK.
Both n froze.
MODOK's face contorted in horror.
"A-Alex…?!
How did you find this place?!"
To him—
Alex wasn't a hero.
He was a nightmare.
A monster wearing a human face.
A being even more terrifying than Kang.
