Muspelheim.
The entire vast world resembled a giant volcano, with rivers of lava flowing endlessly, barren mountains of jagged rock, and a desolate landscape devoid of water or vegetation. It was a fiery purgatory where nothing natural could thrive.
At the center of this infernal realm, within a towering mountain cave, the walls and ground fissures glowed with molten heat. The oppressive temperature was lethal to most life forms, leaving this domain a desolate wasteland of enduring hatred.
The ruler of Muspelheim, Surtur, was an ancient fire demon. Half a million years ago, he had battled Odin, the All-Father, and been defeated. Stripped of much of his power by Odin, he had grown weak and had lingered in this condition ever since.
Surtur's imnse form, forged of rock and fire, glowed crimson like molten stone. He sat slumped on a massive stone throne, his eyes closed. Beside him rested his colossal black sword, its blade dormant for now.
Though physically diminished, Surtur's hatred burned brighter than ever. Alone in this world, his anger festered, accumulating like a volcano preparing to erupt. When it did, it would herald the prophesied Twilight of the Gods, Ragnarök.
Clack. Clack. Clack.
Footsteps echoed through the vast cave, crisp and deliberate. Surtur opened his fiery eyes, gazing upon a figure clad in golden armor and a flowing green cloak. The visitor held a scepter, and his pale, handso face was etched with cold indifference.
"I know you," Surtur rumbled, his deep, hoarse voice reverberating through the cavern. "You're Odin's son, an Asgardian. Has your father not warned you to stay out of my world?"
Surtur remained seated, his blazing eyes fixed on the intruder. His voice dripped with disdain, his oppressive aura filling the cave with tangible nace.
Facing the fire demon's wrath, Loki's lips curled into a wicked smile, his deanor as calm as ice. "I'm here to free you, Surtur," he said, his tone laced with malice.
"Free ?" Surtur's booming laughter shook the cave, like the roar of an erupting volcano.
"If your goal was to amuse , Asgardian, you've succeeded. But know this: no one can 'free' . For if I am liberated, it will an the end of Asgard. My Twilight Sword and demon army will tear your world asunder. So, before I lose my patience, leave my domain!"
Despite Surtur's towering presence and obvious disdain, Loki remained unfazed. The fire demon's arrogance grated on him, but Loki was a master of self-restraint. He suppressed his irritation and maintained his icy facade.
"Like you," Loki said smoothly, "I despise Asgard. We are kindred spirits. And I've brought you a gift."
Surtur sneered. "I have no use for your parlor tricks, boy."
"Then perhaps... you'll appreciate this."
Loki raised his right hand, his scepter glowing green. A terrifying fla burst into existence, swirling with imnse energy. As the fire flared to life, the entire cave quaked violently. Lava erupted from the fissures, and the mountain groaned under the strain.
Surtur rose from his throne, his colossal form trembling as his fiery eyes fixed on the fla.
"Is this... my power?" he murmured, disbelief evident in his tone. "The power Odin stole from ?"
Loki's sinister smile deepened.
Surtur's body trembled as he felt the stolen energy radiating toward him. For the first ti in half a million years, his body stirred with growing strength. The fire demon's once-diminished form surged with vitality, his towering figure expanding.
"You are no ordinary Asgardian," Surtur growled, his voice low and dangerous. "You must know what this ans for your people."
"I told you," Loki replied, his voice venomous. "I want Asgard destroyed."
"Hahaha!" Surtur's laughter bood once more, this ti filled with triumph. "It seems Odin failed to instill loyalty in you, but I will ensure your vision becos reality."
With that, Loki tossed the Eternal Fla toward Surtur. The blazing fire rged with the demon's body, engulfing him entirely.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion of heat and power erupted, shaking the entire mountain. The energy radiating from Surtur was overwhelming, forcing Loki to summon a protective barrier of shimring blue energy to shield himself from the scorching air.
Under Loki's watchful gaze, Surtur's body expanded rapidly. From a towering two ters, he grew to fifty ters, then one hundred, two hundred, and beyond. His fiery form pierced through the mountain's peak, standing over three hundred ters tall.
Surtur roared, raising the Twilight Sword high above his head.
"Odin! Asgard! Your doom is at hand! I will pierce your hearts with the Twilight Sword, sever your heads, and shatter your golden realm!"
The fire demon's roar shook the very fabric of Muspelheim. Around him, lava pits erupted, and fire demons began erging from the molten rivers. Wings unfurled, weapons glead, and countless demons bowed to their resurrected king.
Floating midair, Loki watched the chaos with a smug grin.
"I hope you enjoy the surprise," Loki murmured, his tone dripping with malice. "My dear father... and brother."
