Thor never imagined that the person he had spent three whole days searching for—the one who had stolen his hamr—was actually Luo Bai!
Originally, he had a good impression of Luo Bai.
After all, there weren't many people who could make Loki lose face. But every ti his younger brother heard the na "Luo Bai," he would frown and mutter that he was "weird." That alone made Thor quite happy and improved his opinion of Luo Bai.
But now... now... Luo Bai was the one who had taken his hamr!?
In an instant, Thor's expression changed. His usual carefree deanor vanished, replaced by a rare seriousness.
To be honest, Thor was furious.
But at the sa ti, he was even more shocked.
He remained silent for two whole minutes before asking in disbelief, "You... you were able to lift my hamr?"
After all, not just anyone could lift Mjolnir.
Before this, only he and Odin had ever been able to wield it.
When Thor was exiled, Odin had placed an enchantnt on the hamr, ensuring that only soone deed worthy could lift it.
However, back when Luo Bai had taken the hamr, that enchantnt had not yet been placed.
At that ti, theoretically, no one except Thor should have been able to lift it.
Of course, it wasn't completely impossible—Odin himself could lift it, after all.
And when it ca to magical weapons, there was always a way to override their restrictions.
Besides, Luo Bai was practically blessed with divine luck. Who knew what kind of buffs the God of Fortune had granted him to let him lift Thor's hamr?
But Thor didn't know anything about Luo Bai's absurd luck, so he was completely stunned.
The next second, Luo Bai casually replied, "I think... I can still lift it."
Thor: "???"
His eyes widened in disbelief.
"Impossible! Only I can lift this hamr!" Thor said firmly.
But as soon as he said that, doubt crept in.
His hamr had been taken away for quite so ti back then...
That brief mont of hesitation was enough.
"Try again!" Thor said, thrusting Mjolnir into Luo Bai's hands.
Luo Bai didn't say a word—he simply took the hamr.
It was effortless.
As if he were holding an ordinary weapon.
Thor's eyes widened further.
His expression... it was the exact sa look Odin had when he realized that Gungnir—the spear of the All-Father—had recognized Luo Bai as its master.
A mixture of shock, disbelief, and pure bewildernt.
A mont later, Thor muttered, "No!!! This is impossible!!!"
His voice was filled with existential dread, as if the very foundation of his identity had been shaken.
Luo Bai, feeling a bit awkward, quickly handed the hamr back to him.
"Actually, I didn't an to take your hamr back then," Luo Bai explained. "I had just started learning magic at the ti, and my control over teleportation spells was... let's say, not perfect. There was a miscalculation. It was really just an accident."
He was trying to comfort Thor, but the God of Thunder was clearly not consoled.
Thor just kept muttering, "This doesn't make sense. I should be the only one who can lift it..."
To reassure himself, he tossed Mjolnir away and summoned it back, as if double-checking that it was still the real thing.
Seeing that Thor was too preoccupied with his existential crisis, Luo Bai took the opportunity to make his escape.
"Thor, I'm leaving first. Your dad is waiting for ."
But Thor ignored him, still muttering under his breath, "How could Luo Bai lift Mjolnir? No one should be able to. What's going on...?"
Seeing that Thor was completely lost in his own thoughts, Luo Bai turned around and slipped away.
By the ti Thor snapped out of it, Luo Bai was already gone.
"Luo Bai! Co back! Pick it up again! It shouldn't work like this! Why?!" Thor shouted.
But by then, Luo Bai had already arrived at the main hall of Asgard.
Inside the familiar grand hall, Odin still sat upon his throne.
Clad in golden God-King armor, he looked even older than the last ti Luo Bai had seen him.
"All-Father," Luo Bai greeted politely.
Odin nodded, his expression carrying an unusual warmth, and replied, "You're here."
"Is there a reason you asked Thor to bring here?" Luo Bai asked.
Odin did not answer imdiately. Instead, he asked, "Gungnir—have you gotten used to it?"
"I haven't used it much. A weapon as powerful as this is difficult to wield on Earth," Luo Bai responded with a smile.
Odin nodded.
His face showed no emotion, as if he had already accepted the fact that Gungnir was no longer in his possession.
"It is a weapon of great power. It has been by my side for countless years, striking fear into both gods and demons alike. I believe that with your abilities, you will make full use of Gungnir's potential," Odin sighed.
Luo Bai nodded with a smile. "It truly is an extraordinary weapon."
After briefly discussing Gungnir, Odin finally steered the conversation back to the main topic.
"I did not wish to disturb you, but the relationship between Kamar-Taj and Asgard has been silent for a long ti.
The forr Supre Sorcerer, the Ancient One, and I each had our own responsibilities, standing as guardians of our respective realms.
But ever since you took over... things have changed."
Odin's voice carried a weight of significance.
Luo Bai raised an eyebrow. "Changed how?"
Odin frowned slightly, as if unsure how to broach the subject.
After a brief pause, he asked, "Supre Sorcerer, have you ever heard of Ragnarok?"
Ragnarok?
Luo Bai thought for a mont, then nodded. "I've heard of it."
At the ntion of Ragnarok, Odin's expression grew weary.
He let out a heavy sigh and spoke slowly.
"I once drank from the Well of Wisdom, sacrificing one of my eyes in exchange for infinite knowledge and the ability to glimpse into the future. Through this, I foresaw Ragnarok... and I also foresaw that Thor would be the one to end it.
But recently, I have seen sothing else.
You."
"...?" Luo Bai was caught off guard, not quite understanding what Odin ant.
"I don't fully understand it myself," Odin admitted. "But my wisdom tells that you will be the key to Ragnarok."
Luo Bai frowned.
Before he could speak, Odin continued, "Gungnir was forged from the World Tree itself. Perhaps that is why it chose you."
After saying this, Odin pointed at the Eye of Agamotto hanging around Luo Bai's neck. "Have you used it—the Ti Stone—to see your own future?"
"No," Luo Bai answered truthfully.
It was strange.
When he first obtained the Ti Stone, he had tried using it to peer into the future.
But to his surprise, he found almost no traces of himself in any future tiline.
No wonder the Ancient One had once told him she couldn't see his future.
Because, in the Ti Stone's records, he simply did not exist.
"That makes sense."
As Luo Bai was deep in thought, Odin suddenly murmured as if coming to a realization.
"My guess was correct.
You are not of this world—so you are not recorded in its tiline.
Yet you have remained in this world, and the Ancient One even chose you as the Supre Sorcerer.
That alone proves sothing.
Your presence is at the very center of this universe."
Luo Bai's brows furrowed slightly. "The center of the universe? What does that an?"
Odin thought for a mont before answering.
"The fates of all beings in the universe are predetermined. That is why the Ti Stone can reveal the future of nearly everyone.
Except you.
Because you are not bound by fate."
"You have the ability to traverse the multiverse.
In your journeys, you may co across another Tony Stark, another Steve Rogers—countless versions of the people you know.
But there will never be another you.
You alone exist as a singularity.
You alone have the power to shape your own destiny."
"And because of that... you alone hold the power to decide Ragnarok.
You could end it.
Or you could bring it about."
"It all depends on your choices."
Luo Bai's eyes flickered with realization.
Yes. He was a traveler from another world.
He did not originally exist in this universe—so it made sense that he wouldn't be recorded in its tiline.
His fate was not predetermined.
He was forging it himself.
After hearing this, Luo Bai finally understood why Odin had called him here today.
To put it simply...
A ruler of Odin's stature had just discovered that soone now existed who could change the future of Asgard—and possibly the entire universe—at will.
Of course, he would be concerned.
Realizing this, Luo Bai couldn't help but ask, "All-Father, did you summon here today just to warn ?"
Odin shook his head. "No.
You should already know that Ragnarok is approaching. And I... I do not have much ti left.
Soon, Thor will ascend as the new King of Asgard."
"If Ragnarok truly destroys Asgard, it will not be just Asgard that suffers. Earth will also be affected.
You are well aware that the multiverse is filled with beings far more powerful than even gods.
Kamar-Taj and Asgard may not have worked together in the past—but that may need to change."
Luo Bai imdiately understood.
"You hope that I will cooperate with Thor?"
Odin nodded.
"I know that Thor, as he is now, is not strong enough to be your equal.
But he will grow.
And more importantly—if even I can sense your uniqueness, then sooner or later, the true gods of the multiverse will as well."
"Asgard and Kamar-Taj share a common goal.
We are both defending against threats beyond Earth.
We are not enemies.
We are allies."
