Ego, also known as Ego the Living Planet, was once a mber of the Elders of the Universe.
He had lived even longer than Odin and was virtually omnipotent on his own planet.
One of his most basic abilities was the power to alter his appearance and materialize energy at will.
He could manipulate all aspects of the planet, controlling its elents as if they were extensions of himself.
Additionally, he could create thousands of duplicates, each possessing the sa abilities as him—though their defensive capabilities were significantly weaker.
Despite calling himself a god and wielding the power of one, few people knew the truth about his origins.
And his true form... was shocking.
Although he typically appeared in human form, Ego's real body was that of a massive, sentient planet.
His survival depended on absorbing energy.
Simply put, he devoured the energy of weaker planets and cosmic forces to sustain himself.
With such a power, his thod of survival beca crystal clear.
Ego thrived by consuming energy—and today, he had set his sights on Luo Bai.
Just as Fairy Power sensed Ego's imnse energy, Ego must have also sensed the extraordinary power within Luo Bai.
This was nothing more than a trap—a carefully crafted bait to lure Luo Bai in.
However...
Ego's plan was far too ambitious.
Did he actually think he could consu Fairy Power?
Luo Bai crossed his arms and smirked.
"Honestly, I'm really curious about what's going on in your head. You're trying to drain my energy?"
Ego heard his words clearly.
However, at this mont, he didn't seem to notice anything unusual.
Instead, he sneered and replied, "You're just a re human, yet you speak so arrogantly. Do you even know who I am?"
Luo Bai shook his head, feigning curiosity. "I have no idea. Why don't you tell ?"
Ego puffed out his chest and declared, "I am a god—Ego!"
As his words fell, a brilliant blue energy gathered before Luo Bai's eyes.
A mont later, an elderly man materialized before him.
In his human form, Ego looked to be in his sixties—his hair was stark white, but his presence was brimming with vitality.
Luo Bai imdiately understood that the old man in front of him was nothing more than a duplicate created by Ego.
At this mont, Ego stood with his head held high, his hands clasped behind his back.
His gaze upon Luo Bai was like that of a deity examining a re mortal.
Seeing this, Luo Bai chuckled.
"Ah... so you're the so-called 'God' Ego."
Hearing himself addressed as "God," Ego's smug grin widened.
He raised his chin slightly and looked down at Luo Bai.
"I must admit, I never expected to sense such imnse power from a human."
Ego had yet to realize the true nature of Luo Bai's power.
Luo Bai raised an eyebrow and teased, "Why don't you take a guess as to why I have such powerful energy?"
Luo Bai had already given a hint, but Ego seed completely uninterested.
"I don't care about such trivial things," Ego said. "What I care about is the power inside you."
He continued, his tone filled with satisfaction.
"To be honest, I'm quite pleased right now.
I just found my son—Peter.
He has perfectly inherited my divine power.
Once I fuse with him and absorb your power, I will finally be able to conquer the entire universe!"
"I don't care where your power cos from.
To , you are nothing more than a gift—an unexpected surprise from the universe!"
Ego's smug laughter filled the air.
At that mont, Luo Bai finally rembered.
Ego... also had another identity.
He was Peter Quill's father.
Maybe because he had lived for so long, Ego always had a tendency to stir up trouble.
Conquering the universe had been his dream for eons.
However, he knew that simply absorbing cosmic energy wasn't enough to achieve his goal.
So he sought alternative thods to increase his strength.
And that thod was simple—reproduction.
Ego believed that if he produced offspring with divine genes, he could amplify his power through them.
Thus, millennia ago, he began spreading his "seeds" across the universe.
Including Earth.
Ego had so many children that he probably couldn't even rember them all.
To him, their lives ant nothing.
He didn't care whether they lived or died.
All he cared about was finding one child who could inherit his godly genes.
If a child failed, he would kill them without hesitation.
And out of all of Ego's offspring, Star-Lord was the only one who had inherited his divine genes.
Upon realizing this, Ego sent a duplicate to track down Peter Quill.
His goal?
To persuade Star-Lord into joining him and ruling the universe together.
But now...
Ego had just said he found Peter?
Could it be true?
Luo Bai's eyes flickered as he asked, "Are you saying Peter is here on this planet right now?"
Peter Jason Quill—Star-Lord's real na.
His title was nothing more than a nickna.
Hearing Luo Bai ntion Peter, Ego frowned.
"You know my son?"
Luo Bai shrugged. "Not personally. I've just heard of him—he's a mber of the Guardians of the Galaxy."
Before Ego could respond, Luo Bai asked again, "So, Peter is here on your planet?"
"He's on the other side of the planet," Ego replied calmly.
"My other duplicate is speaking with him as we speak."
Hearing this, Luo Bai finally pieced things together.
So the plot was still on track.
He had arrived just in ti.
Otherwise, once Star-Lord blew up Ego, he wouldn't have anything left to consu.
Thinking of this, Luo Bai asked curiously, "Tell sothing, have you revealed your true ambitions to your son?"
"Do you really believe he'll agree to conquer the universe with you?"
Ego shrugged indifferently.
"He has no choice.
If he refuses, he'll beco my eternal power source.
I will slowly drain his energy—just like I'll do to you!"
As Ego spoke, he raised his hand.
The mont his words fell, blue divine energy surged forward from all directions, rushing toward Luo Bai.
It was clear that Ego intended to imprison Luo Bai on his planet.
From there, he would gradually drain Luo Bai's energy—treating him as nothing more than a living battery.
Since Ego was so ambitious...
Luo Bai figured he might as well play along.
He let Ego's divine power wrap around him.
According to Ego's plan, this would completely trap Luo Bai—sealing him in place as his energy was slowly drained.
But of course...
Things wouldn't go as Ego expected.
But what Ego didn't expect was...
The mont his powerful divine power touched Luo Bai... it disappeared?!
What??
Where did it go?!
Ego was stunned, staring at Luo Bai, who stood there, completely unaffected.
A look of confusion was clearly visible on Ego's face.
Sensing that sothing was wrong, he released his divine power once again.
This ti, an even stronger and more overwhelming surge of divine energy roared toward Luo Bai like a ferocious beast.
He was certain there would be no problems this ti.
But the next second—
The mont Ego's divine power touched Luo Bai, it vanished again...
"?????"
At this mont, Ego finally realized sothing was very wrong.
"What's going on? Why is my divine power having absolutely no effect on you?" Ego muttered, his confusion growing.
Seeing Ego's bewildered expression, Luo Bai chuckled and teased, "Maybe the power you released wasn't enough? Why don't you try again?"
"?????"
Ego was stunned again.
What the hell?!
Not enough power?!
Does this guy even understand what he's saying?
This is the power of a god!!!
And right now, they were on his planet!
If he had unleashed this power on Earth, it would have been enough to destroy the entire planet!
And this human just said... it wasn't enough?!
"How can a re human like you resist the power of a god?" Ego asked in disbelief.
The next second, Luo Bai replied casually, "Didn't you say you were a god? Then you should've heard of fairy power, right?"
"Fairy power?" Ego's eyes widened.
Of course, he had heard of it.
But fairy power was nothing more than a legend. Even Ego himself had never witnessed it with his own eyes.
"Fairy power... but isn't it supposed to be sealed away?" Ego muttered.
"Sounds like your information is outdated. Maybe it's ti for an update," Luo Bai smirked. "The seal on fairy power was broken a long ti ago, and guess what? It just so happens that I inherited it. So tell , do you really think your divine power can stand against fairy power?"
Ego froze.
Suddenly, everything made sense.
He had been wondering how Luo Bai, a re human, could roam the universe, absorbing energy and devouring planets.
So it was all because of fairy power?!
Ego didn't want to believe it, but he couldn't ignore what had just happened.
If Luo Bai really possessed fairy power... then he was in deep trouble.
And to make things worse, this was a critical mont for him. He was still in the middle of convincing his son, Peter Quill, to join him.
If Luo Bai truly had fairy power... wouldn't that an his entire plan was dood?
Thinking of this, Ego imdiately gathered his remaining strength and attempted to force Luo Bai off his planet.
But now that Luo Bai was here—
How could he leave so easily?
"God Ego, you're being a little too rude," Luo Bai smirked. "Do I look like soone you can summon and dismiss at will?"
