John Garrett—a sharp-featured man in his early twenties—was more than he appeared.

Outwardly, he was a respected S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, holding considerable authority. But in truth, Garrett was a traitor. A deep-cover operative planted by HYDRA.

Years ago, after being critically wounded during a mission in Sarajevo, Garrett waited for a rescue team that never ca. Abandoned by the agency he once believed in, he swore revenge. That hatred festered, and eventually, he defected—joining HYDRA's Deathlok transformation program.

The procedure had changed him. While he wasn't on par with the likes of Captain Arica, he'd been physically enhanced beyond ordinary human limits. But his transformation wasn't complete. For the next stage, he needed to prove himself.

So, when Whitehall tasked him with retrieving a mysterious scroll, Garrett accepted imdiately.

He had the perfect cover. As both a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and a HYDRA operative, Garrett could tap into intel from both sides. That advantage allowed him to quickly trace the scroll's last known location to an unlikely source: a child in a local orphanage.

He wasn't sure what role the kid played—but that's where the trail led. So that's where Garrett went.

And the mont he stepped onto the property, he heard a voice call out to him.

"So it's here after all," he muttered. "Looks like this mission won't take long."

Confident in his super-soldier enhancents, Garrett didn't bother to act cautiously. He pushed the door open and strode inside.

What he didn't expect was the glowing red eyes that imdiately greeted him.

Seated calmly in the center of the room was a boy—his eyes radiating power. A sharp, inverted V symbol shimred like a sigil, flickering in his pupils.

Garrett's mind froze. In that instant, a red ring appeared in his eyes.

Geass Contract: Established.

"Done," Kurogai said quietly, a faint smirk on his lips.

The Geass Eye was his only real weapon for now, but it was enough. Used strategically, it was practically invincible.

Kurogai had no chance in a physical fight with soone like Garrett. He knew that. But all he needed was a clear view—and now that Garrett stood directly before him, it was already over.

"Answer my questions. When we're done, return to your base and kill the one who sent you. Fight until death."

"Yes, sir. Ask your questions," Garrett replied robotically, giving a crisp military salute.

"Na. Allegiances. Mission details," Kurogai said, keeping his voice steady and cold.

"My na is John Garrett," the man answered flatly. "My public identity is S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Secretly, I serve HYDRA. I was sent by Whitehall to retrieve the scroll."

Kurogai's eyes narrowed. Whitehall.

So this wasn't so petty errand. This went deep.

John Garrett... now the na clicked. In the Marvel universe, Garrett eventually beca known as "The Clairvoyant," the mind behind the Centipede Serum. And Whitehall? He was a twisted scientist who'd dissected Inhumans in search of secrets—an original follower of the Red Skull, and one of HYDRA's most dangerous figures.

Kurogai leaned back, gears turning.

This scroll clearly wasn't ordinary.

If Whitehall wanted it this badly, it might even be connected to the Inhumans or sothing older—sothing darker. That ant it had real value.

Kurogai questioned Garrett further. Every possible detail. Did anyone follow him? How did he locate the scroll? What had he reported? What was the scroll's origin?

And Garrett answered all of it—obediently, without hesitation. That was the terrifying precision of the Geass Eye.

Eventually, Kurogai had a full picture.

According to Garrett, he had pieced things together using intel from both HYDRA and S.H.I.E.L.D.—but it was mostly suspicion. He hadn't reported anything yet. He ca alone, wanting to confirm it firsthand. No backup. No surveillance.

That was good.

As a double agent, Garrett had to be careful. His secrecy had worked in Kurogai's favor—neither S.H.I.E.L.D. nor HYDRA knew what had happened here. That kept Kurogai safely under the radar, exactly where he wanted to be.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was a problem. HYDRA was worse.

Whitehall, in particular, made Kurogai uneasy. A monster hiding behind science.

If Whitehall discovered Kurogai… things would get ugly.

But not yet.

Not today.

"So Garrett's the only one who knows about ," Kurogai murmured. "And he's mine now."

It was perfect. Though there was one small disappointnt—Garrett didn't know the scroll's true purpose either.

Still, that could wait.

Kurogai gave the final order.

"Go. Complete your last mission."

Garrett nodded stiffly. "Yes. After interrogation… eliminate the one who sent . Fight until death."

With that, Garrett turned and left the orphanage, walking out into the night without another word.

He was headed straight for HYDRA's base.

His target: Whitehall.
