"It's you… the bi-colored eyed kid!"
Nick Fury's expression shifted as soon as Kurogai stepped out from the orphanage. The scene before him was bizarre—unnerving, even.
From the blood-stained courtyard, it was obvious a fierce battle had taken place. Hydra's presence was confird by the uniforms of the fallen, yet the situation didn't align with the intel.
Kurogai stood calmly, unhard, at the center of two neat rows of ard Hydra soldiers—as if they were guarding him.
The image was jarring. Completely out of sync with expectations.
"Kid, don't be nervous," Nick Fury said, cautiously stepping forward. "We're from the Strategic Holand Intervention, Enforcent and Logistics Division. We're not your enemy. You can trust us."
Despite his confusion, Fury's instincts told him to deescalate. Whatever happened here, this boy was central to it.
"Strategic Holand… man, have you really never considered changing the na? S.H.I.E.L.D. sounds so much better," Kurogai muttered, rolling his eyes.
Fury blinked.
"..."
Even now, in a scene that looked ripped from a nightmare, this kid had jokes.
"Kid, what happened here?" Fury pressed, ignoring the comnt. "Talk to ."
Kurogai t his gaze calmly.
"It's simple," he said. "Hydra ca looking for trouble. I wiped them out."
"That's impossible!" Fury's pupils narrowed sharply. The boy had to be bluffing.
But the pieces started falling into place. Hydra soldiers filled the courtyard—dead. Yet Kurogai stood there, untouched, flanked by Hydra troops who weren't attacking but guarding him.
Then it hit him.
ntal control. He'd seen it before—mutants capable of twisting the minds of others into puppets. If this kid had that kind of power...
Fury swallowed. The implications were terrifying.
He rembered old files—powerful telepaths who could bend entire governnts without firing a bullet. The kind of threat that didn't need armies—because they were the army.
His instincts scread caution.
"You're a mutant… aren't you?"
Fury's tone was quieter now, edged with tension.
"Mutant?" Kurogai chuckled. "Who knows?"
He didn't confirm or deny.
That made it worse.
At that mont, Natasha stepped forward.
"Asta… do you rember ?" she said softly. "We're not here to hurt you. You can trust us."
Kurogai's lips curved into a faint smirk.
"Of course I rember you. Mrs. Steve, right? I missed you."
Natasha's brow twitched.
He was mocking her—and confirming, without a doubt, that he'd known her real identity from the start.
"I'm leaving now," Kurogai said. "If you think you can stop , you're welco to try."
With that, he turned and headed for the back door. The Hydra soldiers fell in behind him like a protective barrier, shields raised—not attacking, but clearly prepared to if necessary.
"Sir, should we stop him?" a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent asked urgently, waiting on Fury's order.
Fury stood frozen for a second, then barked:
"No. If we make a move, we might all end up dead. Let them go!"
The agent hesitated, startled—but obeyed.
What none of them realized was that Nick Fury was no longer in control of himself.
A faint red halo shimred behind his irises. The unmistakable mark of Geass.
Kurogai had already taken precautions to ensure a clean exit. Fury's mind was now... compromised.
---
A mont later, Kurogai vanished into the crowd outside the orphanage—blending into the city, his first chapter in this new world closing quietly.
Gone.
---
"Where is he?!" Fury suddenly snapped, jerking as if waking from a dream. "Where's the kid?"
He looked around, disoriented. The agents stared at him in confusion.
"Sir… you told us to let him go," the sa agent said hesitantly.
"I what?!" Fury's face paled. His hand went to his head. He hadn't given that order.
He'd been... controlled.
Realization sank in like a stone. That kid had gotten into his head. Without him noticing.
"This power... it's on a whole different level," Fury muttered, disturbed to his core.
That was when another shout rang out:
"Director! Look over there!"
Natasha and Fury turned.
At the orphanage's rear, the controlled Hydra soldiers—those who had ford Kurogai's guard—now stood silently.
Then, without hesitation, each soldier raised their pistol to their own temple.
One by one, they pulled the trigger.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bodies collapsed in succession, falling into the bloodstained courtyard.
They had followed Kurogai's final order:
Protect him. Until death.
And now that their mission was complete… death was all that remained.
