Places where powerful treasures are hidden are usually filled with deadly traps and security asures. But that ant nothing to Kurogai, thanks to his possession of the Mangekyō Sharingan—specifically, Obito Uchiha's Kamui.

From the mont he entered the cave, Kurogai's eyes had already transford into the spiraling pattern of Obito's Mangekyō, prid to activate Kamui instantly.

As a result, any danger that presented itself—arrows flying from hidden crevices, tumbling boulders, or ancient chanical defenses—simply passed through Kurogai and Skye as if they were illusions. Kamui phased them through it all.

Skye couldn't help but gasp. She had never seen anything like it. But the mont she realized those deadly traps had no effect, she turned her wide eyes toward Kurogai, admiration flooding her expression. She knew it had to be because of him. Everything that protected her right now ca from him—her Kurogai-nii.

(I'm leaving it as Kurogai-nii, Using 'Brother Kurogai' kinda feels awkward.)

Eventually, they reached the deepest part of the cave.

There, resting atop a smooth, circular stone platform, was a sealed glass container. Inside it swirled a dense mist that hovered and pulsed like a living thing.

Terrigen Mist.

Kurogai narrowed his eyes. "This... looks different than what I rember."

He'd seen depictions of Terrigen Mist before, and sothing about this one was unusual. Out of caution, he began to inspect the container carefully. Carved beside it were ancient glyphs, detailing the nature of the mist sealed within.

He wasn't about to risk Skye's life on an assumption. Not with sothing this important.

Kurogai quickly copied the inscriptions, left the cave with Skye, and vanished into thin air.

A short ti later, he returned, the glyphs now fully translated.

"This is no ordinary Terrigen Mist," he said, his lips curling into a smirk. "This is the only perfect version. Pure. No side effects. Capable of creating the most powerful Inhuman."

He had visited a scholar of ancient languages, forced the translation from him using his Sharingan, and confird everything. This version of the mist had once been developed by the Kree, but they feared it. It could create flawless Inhumans—beings with no weakness.

Terrified of what they had made, the Kree tried to erase it from existence. But one Inhuman stole the sample and sealed it here, leaving a warning behind.

"There's a signal embedded in the mist," Kurogai explained. "Once activated, it could alert the Kree. That's why the Inhuman never used it. He feared it would draw them here."

The Kree were a force to be reckoned with—powerful, brutal, and rciless. But Kurogai? He chuckled coldly.

Let them co.

He hadn't killed an alien before. Maybe it was ti.

"Skye," Kurogai said, turning to her, "that mist is your awakening. No matter what happens during the process, do not panic. I'll be watching."

Once she nodded, Kurogai approached the platform and struck the container.

Crack!

The glass shattered, releasing a wave of thick, glowing mist that quickly filled the entire cave. It shimred unnaturally, reacting instantly to Skye's presence as an Inhuman. The gas surged toward her, rushing into her body through every pore.

Her transformation began imdiately.

Skye's skin hardened into stone, slowly encasing her entire body. Kurogai didn't flinch. He knew what was happening and had already retreated into the Kamui dinsion, leaving only a projection behind to monitor her.

The mist was lethal to humans. Only Inhumans could survive it.

The cave grew silent.

Then, a shift.

Cracks spread across the stone cocoon. Chunks of the shell fell away, revealing Skye—changed.

Her eyes were sharp, glowing faintly. Her posture had shifted. Confidence radiated from her.

"Do you feel it?" Kurogai asked softly. "Can you sense your power?"

Skye looked down at her hands, then stepped toward the cave wall and struck it with her fist.

The ground trembled.

Dust rained from the ceiling as the entire mountain seed to groan under the impact. Skye staggered back in shock.

"That's... ? I did that?"

She looked at her hand in disbelief, overwheld by the power now surging through her.

Kurogai nodded. "That's your strength. Terrifying, isn't it? But don't worry. It's only the beginning. With ti and practice, you'll control it."

Skye's eyes t his, a mix of awe and resolve.

"Thank you... Kurogai-nii."

Kurogai gave her a rare smile.

He knew now—Skye was no longer soone who needed protection. She was becoming soone who could stand beside him, not behind him.

And for Kurogai, that made all the difference.
