"Explain? What do I need to explain?"

Facing Juggernaut's murderous glare, Raymond didn't flinch at all. He simply shook his head and smiled, saying, "Do you really think only your side needs to check soone's background before recruiting them, but I don't need to check a group's background before joining?"

What Raymond said did make sense.

There's no rule saying you can't do a background check before joining a group.

But clearly, that wasn't the answer Juggernaut wanted.

Soone who could slip past the Hellfire Club's intelligence network couldn't possibly be so rookie who had just awakened powers.

There were only a few mutant groups in the world capable of such things.

So to Juggernaut, Raymond clearly looked like soone sent by an "old enemy" to ss with them!

"You're asking for death!!"

Juggernaut growled low, his voice full of fury.

His face was twisted with rage, and his eyes glowed blood-red!

Then, a red glow—sa as his eyes—surrounded his whole body, giving off a dark and dangerous aura.

He took a single step—and the ground beneath him cracked into a deep crater!

In a way, this showed he couldn't fully control his power. But it also proved how terrifying that power was.

"Cain!"

"Black King, calm down!"

Psylocke and Carl both shouted when they saw Juggernaut suddenly attacking without warning.

But they were too late. Juggernaut had already launched himself like a human cannonball, crashing straight toward Raymond!

Charging was Juggernaut's most fearso attack!

As long as he had so distance, he could even smash through a mountain.

Seeing that he didn't hold back at all and even used his strongest move right away, Carl and the others didn't think it was the right choice—but they had already started mourning for Raymond in their hearts.

Juggernaut's ability might seem simple. His fights weren't flashy. But no one ever doubted his power—because he really was that strong.

Anyone who did doubt him had already been smashed.

And his power wasn't just physical strength and defense.

The red energy around him protected him from all negative effects and energy attacks. It also gave him the ability to hit any kind of being—even those on different planes of existence.

Even Shadow King types, who feared no physical attacks, would have to run if they faced him.

Raymond might be mysterious, and even Carl—who had suffered a loss against him—still didn't know what his ability really was.

But even Carl didn't think Raymond could stand up to Juggernaut.

You've got to be kidding—this is Juggernaut we're talking about!

But what happened next completely blew everyone's minds...

Seeing that Juggernaut was charging in recklessly without hesitation, Raymond instantly switched to the Tao Pai Pai personality—

"Hahahaha! Finally, it's my turn… who needs to die?"

'Raymond' suddenly stood with his hands on his hips, laughing like a lunatic.

But he hadn't even finished laughing when Juggernaut, like a human missile, was already right in front of him—just about to crash into him.

"Huh? What the heck is that?"

He didn't even get a clear look at the massive thing charging at him. On instinct, he casually threw out a punch.

BOOM!!

With a deafening crash, Juggernaut flew back the sa way he ca—soaring over a hundred ters before finally crashing to a stop, rolling several tis across the ground.

"Hiss... that was solid!"

'Raymond' shook his fist and glanced at the "big lump" he just sent flying, clearly surprised.

Because after throwing that punch, he actually felt a bit of soreness in his hand.

That was rare for him—he didn't even feel that when punching through solid steel.

But he didn't dwell on it long. His attention soon shifted to Psylocke and Carl, who were still standing nearby.

"Did you co here for my autograph?" 'Raymond' tilted his head slightly.

The mont he locked eyes with them, both Psylocke and Carl felt like cornered mice being stared down by a cat. Their bodies stiffened, and they shook their heads in unison.

"So... you ca to hire to kill soone?" he asked again.

They quickly shook their heads again, just as synchronized.

"Oh."

'Raymond' looked away and turned his eyes back toward where Juggernaut had flown off to.

"Should I kill him?" he muttered to himself.

"No? Then why am I even here? I only kill people!"

"Hmph! Don't talk to Lord Tao Pai Pai in that commanding tone! I don't care if you're—wait, no, no! I was wrong! You're the boss! Let play a little longer..."

Watching 'Raymond' stand there arguing with himself like a maniac, Psylocke and Carl both had the sa thought pop into their minds—Is he... having an episode?

They had both seen Raymond's file before. They knew he had been secretly sent to that Clockwork Psychiatric Hospital in New York by S.H.I.E.L.D. due to suspected schizophrenia.

Based on that intel, they had guessed that Raymond probably awakened his mutant ability during that ti—Which did match the pattern for many other mutants.

But they had assud that the fact he was released from the hospital ant he was cured.

Now, looking at him...

He didn't seem cured at all—he looked like he was deep in the middle of an episode!

ntal illness by itself isn't terrifying.

But a ntally ill person with overwhelming power? That's terrifying.

Didn't they just see him send Juggernaut flying with one punch?

Sure, Juggernaut wouldn't be seriously hurt by that kind of attack—but just because he could take it didn't an they could!

That casual punch just now?

If it had landed on either of them, they'd be in serious trouble.

Carl might've fared better—his powers made him pretty tanky.

But Psylocke wasn't so lucky. Defense was definitely not her strong suit.

Normally, powerful mutants or superhumans wouldn't dare lay a hand on soone like her, since they knew about her background and the consequences.

But could you really expect a lunatic to care about stuff like that?

At this mont, Psylocke felt an overwhelming sense of danger.

She was just about ready to log onto the club's internal forum and post:

"What do you do when you run into a crazy guy who's terrifyingly strong? Urgent, need help ASAP!!!"
