"Why… why is this happening…"

The hot-tempered man stood frozen, staring in shock as he muttered to himself.

He was sure he had fired at the two strange n standing behind Stephanie—So why were the ones who died actually his two fellow agents?

It didn't make sense...

Suddenly—

It hit him. His eyes filled with panic and anger as he glared at the two strange figures behind Stephanie.

"It was you! You must've used so kind of dirty trick on !"

His whole state of mind was falling apart.

Because he knew—if he couldn't explain what just happened, then killing two fellow agents with his own hands would ruin him completely.

And in Hydra, traitors didn't just face punishnt themselves—Even their families could be dragged down with them.

Hydra had no use for rcy or law when it ca to traitors.

No matter how strong his ntal endurance was, he couldn't hold it together anymore. He was clearly on the verge of a breakdown.

Just as he raised his gun again, aiming at the two strange n—Gideon shouted out loud in alarm:

"Stop!!"

Stop? Stop what?

That was his final thought—

Because the very next second, his head was blown apart.

The one who shot him was the sa man he had been pointing his gun at.

From the hot-headed man's point of view, he had been aiming at the two strange newcors again.

But from the perspective of everyone else in the eting room—He had been pointing his gun directly at the agent he'd argued with earlier.

That man had already been suspicious of him. And now suddenly having a gun aid at him—He didn't hesitate.

He pulled the trigger instantly, killing the hot-headed man before he could shoot.

Even Gideon's shout ant nothing to him.

This was life or death—who had ti to listen to orders?

If he didn't shoot, he might be the one lying dead next. In a mont like that, leadership and rules didn't matter.

"You all saw it—he pointed his gun at first."

He quickly explained after firing.

No one blad him.

Any one of them would've done the sa thing in his place.

Only Gideon wore a dark expression as he stared at the Orochimaru and Itachi sub-personalities behind Stephanie.

"That was your trick… wasn't it?"

Hearing that, the others finally began to realize sothing.

Why had the hot-headed man suddenly acted so strange?

Even if he was truly a traitor—Why would he put on such a convincing performance? So full of shock, sadness, and desperation?

It had to be an illusion.

No wonder the hot-headed man looked so heartbroken…

"If you want to stand out, you better be ready to take the hits. If you don't get that, you're just wasting oxygen," the Orochimaru sub-personality said with a chilling smile.

"So it really was you!" Gideon's face darkened with killing intent.

The Orochimaru sub-personality didn't even bother to hide it. His words practically confird he had caused the illusion—and he wasn't afraid to admit it.

"No wonder you had the guts to try and overthrow . Turns out you've been working with people from the superhuman world," Gideon said in a cold voice. "But do you really think just two random supers are enough to let you do whatever you want?"

"Don't be so naive!!"

Suddenly, he grabbed the teacup on the table and smashed it hard onto the ground!

Crash!

At the sa mont, a group of super soldiers with fire-like energy flowing beneath their skin charged into the eting room!

These were the enhanced soldiers created by the Extremis virus developed by Killian.

After the project succeeded, a large batch of simplified Extremis doses had been given to the political faction.

In return, the A.I.M. Group got strong support in business, helping them dominate the market and grow rapidly.

Besides the Extremis soldiers who burst in, several high-ranking officers at the table also launched attacks against the strange duo in their own unique ways.

One of them suddenly grew massive—over three ters tall—his head nearly hitting the ceiling.

Another opened up his arms like a cyborg, revealing twin cannons inside.

A third transford—his upper body turning into that of a snarling werewolf as he charged forward!

Even Stephanie hadn't expected this. She couldn't pretend she wasn't nervous—She had no idea there were so many superhumans hidden within the political faction.

Gideon probably never planned to guard against his daughter, but he had no reason to tell her about this either.

Which ant… she didn't know Hydra nearly as well as she thought.

Especially not the superhuman side of it.

"This one's mine, Itachi-kun…"

At that mont, she heard "Mr. Snake" speak casually to "Mr. Weasel."

From the sound of it, he intended to face the Extremis soldiers and the superhuman executives—All by himself.

Wasn't that too reckless?

Stephanie was worried, but didn't dare say anything.

Still, her concern didn't last long—Because once "Mr. Snake" moved… he really was insane!

"Formation of Ten Thousand Serpent Bind!"

The Orochimaru sub-personality smiled darkly, then opened his mouth wide.

In an instant, countless snakes shot out of his mouth, flooding half the eting room in seconds!

Individually, these snakes weren't very dangerous—To the Extremis soldiers or other supers, they were nothing. One step could squash them.

But there were too many. They kept coming, wave after wave!

The Extremis soldiers attacked with bursts of fire, burning down rows of snakes at a ti.

The other supers also fought back with their own powers, clearing patches of the swarm.

Each ti a snake was killed, it dissolved into smoke—leaving no bodies behind.

So, briefly, their attacks created small openings in the swarm.

But the problem was—If they were killing at a speed of "one," then the Orochimaru sub-personality was summoning snakes at a speed of "ten!"

No matter how hard they fought, they were overwheld.

"Tch, we really shouldn't have let this guy take over. This is disgusting…"

The Itachi sub-personality casually created a fire-style barrier around himself to block the snakes nearby.

Even though the snakes didn't attack him or Stephanie, he still found them revolting.

Stephanie was creeped out too. But when she saw "Mr. Weasel" shielding her from the snakes, she felt a bit relieved—Though she still muttered under her breath:

"Is Mr. Snake actually a snake in disguise…?"
