By the Lake of the Manor

The autumn wind rustled through the skeletal branches of the trees near the lake, carrying the crisp scent of fallen leaves. The water shimred under the sun's golden light, while scattered yellow leaves drifted lazily on its surface, rippling with the gentle breeze.

In a beautifully crafted gazebo, Finn and Wanda sat side by side, each holding a fishing rod. They had bought so bait earlier, prepared to enjoy a peaceful afternoon.

"So say fishing tests a person's concentration," Finn mused aloud. "And I suppose they have a point..."

Yet, after sitting still for a while, he found himself growing restless. He could sit for hours if he was occupied, but simply staring at the water quickly made him bored. Eventually, he gave in to the urge and pulled out his phone, scrolling through it absentmindedly.

"You have no concentration," Wanda remarked, rolling her eyes at him. "Seriously, you're hopeless."

"That's different," Finn smirked, shifting his gaze toward her. "I only act like this around you. Do you see doing this with anyone else?"

His teasing tone was enough to make Wanda scoff, but she ignored him, focusing on her fishing line.

After glancing around and confirming no one was nearby, Finn leaned slightly closer, his deep, star-like eyes locking onto hers. His voice dropped, rich and low.

"Witch, let's stab later, okay?"

Wanda blinked, confused. "Huh? What are you talking about?"

She t his gaze—those sharp, jewel-like eyes filled with sothing unreadable. Instinctively, she shifted away, suddenly wary.

Her mind, however, took an imdiate detour. Could he possibly an... that?

Her cheeks flushed at the thought. She had read about certain... risqué encounters in public spaces. And she hadn't forgotten how Finn had casually brought up so bizarre European stories on their last trip.

Wanda felt her face burn hotter.

"Hey, Witch, what's going on in that little head of yours?" Finn tapped her lightly on the forehead, amused by her expression.

She huffed, still flustered. "Then what exactly are you talking about?"

"I learned a new spell from the Darkhold and wanted to test it out."

Finn spoke nonchalantly, but his words made Wanda stiffen.

Her fingers instinctively reached out, grasping his wrist as she focused on sensing his soul. Her brows furrowed.

"Finn," she said, her voice low with concern, "we agreed—you wouldn't study the Darkhold anymore."

"I'm fine," Finn reassured her, unconcerned. "I learned these spells a while ago. And since nothing's happened, it ans Chthon can't take over."

Wanda didn't look convinced.

"You can't keep reading that book," she insisted, her grip tightening slightly. She trusted Stephen Strange—he was Kamar-Taj trained, and when it ca to magic, his warnings weren't to be ignored.

"Alright, alright," Finn chuckled. "I promise to behave. But for now, put away the fishing rod. Let's have so fun."

Setting his rod aside, he prepared to test the Darkhold's spell.

Wanda sighed but didn't stop him. She glanced around and spotted a few people in the distance, her wariness returning.

"Be careful," she warned. "Don't cause a scene."

"Trust ."

Dark mist began swirling around Finn's hands as arcane runes coiled around his fingers.

The air rippled, heat waves distorting the surroundings. The lake trembled, its surface shifting as water swelled unnaturally, rising in gentle but deliberate waves.

Then, the disturbance intensified.

The autumn air chilled, mist forming around them as a powerful force surged within Finn's grasp.

Wanda's lips parted slightly in shock.

She could feel it—feel the way he was manipulating the water molecules in the air, bending them with ease.

Her breath hitched.

"This... this is elental control..."

It wasn't just basic spellcasting—Finn was controlling raw natural forces.

Her gaze flickered with realization.

"How... How did he learn this so fast?"

It had only been a few days since she last checked. Was he really absorbing the entire Darkhold's knowledge this quickly?

For the first ti, Wanda regretted not pushing him harder to seek proper training at Kamar-Taj. Finn wasn't just experinting—he had nearly mastered the book's contents in an alarmingly short ti.

His current spell?

It was from the last Chapter of the Darkhold.

And he had learned it already.

Before she could say anything, Finn suddenly pushed his hands forward.

The lake erupted.

A massive water column shot toward the sky, piercing through the clouds above with a deafening roar.

BOOM!

The sheer force sent shockwaves through the area, rippling across the land.

Nearby onlookers turned their heads, startled by the massive surge.

Eddie Brock, standing under a large tree, stared in disbelief.

"The hell..."

He recognized the figures in the gazebo instantly.

"Wait a minute... aren't those the two from the hallway earlier?"

A low, raspy voice echoed in Eddie's mind.

"Eddie... those two are magicians. Maybe they can send us back ho."

Eddie sighed. "Venom, you seriously think telling them we're from another universe is a good idea? They'll just lock us up in a psych ward."

"Then let's eat them. If we consu them, we might gain their knowledge."

Eddie's expression twisted.

"The hell is wrong with you? Do you even see what that guy just did? He's not soone we can ss with."

Venom hesitated before muttering, "Yeah... I take that back."

As they argued, the winds from the lake suddenly intensified.

A chilling gust swept through the forest, rustling the trees violently. Leaves scattered in a frenzied dance, tossed high into the sky as if caught in a storm.

Eddie flinched, his symbiote reflexively reacting to the sudden shift in atmosphere.

Then, silence.

And awe.

Suspended in the air, standing tall in the sky, was a massive frozen castle—carved entirely from ice.

Sunlight refracted through its crystalline structure, casting dazzling, prismatic colors across the lake.

Venom stamred, "Yeah, uh... Eddie, let's not ss with that guy."

In the gazebo, Finn exhaled slowly, lowering his hands. A small smile tugged at his lips.

"Witch," he murmured, turning toward Wanda. "For you."

Wanda's breath caught.

"For ?"

She looked up at the luminous ice castle hovering above them.

It was breathtaking.

Her chest tightened.

Few things had ever made her emotional like this. But this?

This was sothing out of a dream.

She had spent years in hardship, surviving loss after loss. The world had taken so much from her.

But now...

She had found soone who would create a castle for her.

Elsewhere in Westview, another pair of watchful eyes had locked onto the frozen masterpiece.

A woman, draped in a crimson gown, stood at the town's edge, staring up at the gleaming structure.

Shock flickered across her delicate features.

Her lips parted, voice barely above a whisper.

"Finn... is still alive in this universe?"
