"Your Devil Fruit… can really bring Tony back to life?"

Cornered by Qin Xiao's words, Nick Fury looked at him with a serious expression.

Tony could not be allowed to die.

Whether it was his genius mind—already pushing technological progress within S.H.I.E.L.D.—or simply the fact that he was Howard Stark's son,

Fury had every reason to protect him.

Not to ntion Peggy Carter,

who still cared deeply for the son of an old friend.

If Tony were to die just as he was beginning to change,

it would not sit well with her.

If this so-called envoy truly could save him…

then Fury had little ground to argue.

"Heh. Of course it's real.

Snatching souls away from Western demons—that's one of our favorite things to do."

Qin Xiao doubled down on his "demonic envoy" identity.

Whether they believed it or not didn't matter.

"I'll take your word for it—for now."

Fury made a gesture.

The agents surrounding Qin Xiao imdiately stood down.

Then he turned to Tony.

"Tony, if your condition is as serious as this,

then what we discussed yesterday is off the table for now.

Your priority is fixing your health.

I'll assign soone to stay in contact with you—if you need S.H.I.E.L.D.'s help, just tell them."

Fury had already ford a new plan.

Originally, he intended to send Natasha in undercover.

Now, that wasn't necessary.

And Natasha's talent for extracting information was unmatched—perhaps she could even uncover sothing from Qin Xiao.

"I understand. I prefer to keep my life in my own hands."

Tony had no intention of giving up control.

Fury glanced at the agents, who had finished unloading the items, and gave a signal.

They withdrew imdiately.

Before leaving, Fury cast one last look at Qin Xiao.

"I'll be watching you."

He pointed at his eye—then at Qin Xiao.

Then he turned and left.

Qin Xiao watched him go, a faint smile forming.

"Director Fury, if you're going to keep an eye on ,

you might want to consider the Glare-Glare Fruit."

For a brief mont, Fury's departing figure seed to stiffen.

Even this… turned into another sales pitch?

Once everyone from S.H.I.E.L.D. had left,

Tony looked around the villa, a hint of nostalgia in his eyes.

These were the things his father had left behind.

"Well, I won't disturb your research. I'll be off.

If you need anything, find ."

Qin Xiao opened a portal and stepped through.

In an instant, he vanished.

On the other side—Hell's Kitchen.

Qin Xiao had nurous safe houses there,

built through considerable effort.

Though calling them "safe houses" was generous—many were just single rooms.

A cunning rabbit has three burrows.

Qin Xiao had taken that principle to heart.

Hell's Kitchen was dangerous—gangs everywhere.

Before gaining real power,

he had to be extrely cautious.

But he wasn't afraid.

If death was inevitable,

he always had options—Dark-Dark Fruit, Glint-Glint Fruit, Rumble-Rumble Fruit…

That sense of choice allowed him to walk the edge.

Until he finally gave out his first fruit.

The Swamp-Swamp Fruit.

With a Logia ability,

he beca immune to most conventional damage.

Only then did he begin approaching

the king of the underworld—Wilson Fisk.

After months of maneuvering,

he got Fisk to consu the Bomb-Bomb Fruit.

And secured 6% of Stark Industries' shares.

Now, the question remained—how much did S.H.I.E.L.D. really know about him?

It might be ti to establish a visible residence.

A villa, perhaps.

Sothing public.

Back at the villa,

Tony felt an odd emptiness after Qin Xiao left.

The lively atmosphere from monts ago

had vanished completely.

But soon, his attention shifted

to the items his father had left behind.

He began going through them carefully.

Hoping to find answers.

One video reel caught his eye.

On screen, Howard Stark stood before a model of Stark Industries,

trying again and again to record the perfect ssage.

But this footage—it was clearly unedited.

Howard appeared awkward.

Uncertain.

A side of him Tony had almost forgotten.

In his mories,

his father was distant—a man who never even said "I love you."

Yet now…

that blurred image grew clearer.

That was his father.

"…This isn't the man I rember."
