Nick Fury received an unexpected call.

Tony Stark.

He had just t him yesterday—and now Tony was already calling him.

More importantly, the first thing Tony said was for Fury to return all of his father's belongings.

Sothing about this felt… off.

Although Fury had indeed planned to hand over Howard Stark's things eventually,

being asked for them like this didn't sit well with him.

A classic mindset—I can give it to you, but you don't get to ask for it.

After gathering everything, Fury personally led a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to Tony's villa.

While others began unloading the items,

Fury went inside to et Tony himself.

And there—he saw soone else.

An Easterner.

The mont he saw Qin Xiao, Fury's mind began rapidly searching through his intelligence database.

Soon, a na surfaced—and it made his heart sink.

Had Tony already fallen under this man's influence?

If so… that would be a serious problem.

"Tony, was it this man who suggested you ask for your father's belongings?"

Fury didn't bother with small talk.

"Yep. His idea."

After Tony confird it, Fury walked straight up to Qin Xiao.

"Hello… mysterious envoy of the Eastern demons."

He imdiately exposed Qin Xiao's identity.

But Qin Xiao didn't react at all.

With S.H.I.E.L.D.'s reach, uncovering his identity wasn't surprising.

And he had already anticipated eting them.

No matter how powerful S.H.I.E.L.D. was,

it still couldn't compare to Kamar-Taj.

Having already walked through that world, Qin Xiao felt no pressure facing Fury.

If anything, his own mystery made Fury more cautious.

"Hello, Director Nick Fury."

Qin Xiao shook his hand, a faintly amused expression on his face.

He had expected S.H.I.E.L.D. might have candidates compatible with Devil Fruits—but he hadn't expected the first one he'd et to be Fury himself.

And more importantly…

the list of compatible fruits was sothing else entirely.

"Ding! Detected a Devil Fruit-compatible target."

"Compatible Fruits: Barrier Fruit, Diamond Fruit, Chop-Chop Fruit, Bean-Bean Fruit, Straw-Straw Fruit, Glare-Glare Fruit, Wash-Wash Fruit, Pump-Pump Fruit…"

Eight fruits.

The most Qin Xiao had seen so far.

Even more than Wolverine.

But the lineup left him… speechless.

Barrier Fruit?

Was it because Fury led S.H.I.E.L.D.—so naturally he should be paired with a "shield"?

A top-tier defensive fruit, nearly impossible to break head-on.

So…

you're the Shield, I'm the Barrier—together we block everything?

Then there was the Diamond Fruit.

Another defensive powerhouse.

Did everything about Fury have to scream "defense"?

And the Chop-Chop Fruit—splitting apart to avoid damage.

Yet another survival-focused ability.

The Bean-Bean Fruit? Sa logic.

Was the system trying to turn Fury into a pile of tiny bald heads?

…Honestly, that visual fit disturbingly well.

Might be worth recomnding.

Then the Straw-Straw Fruit—redirecting damage through straw dolls.

Give that to Fury, and suddenly every captured criminal in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody might start dying mysteriously.

Given his personality,

he'd probably plant straw substitutes all over himself.

The Glare-Glare Fruit, though—that one was interesting.

X-ray vision alone was powerful, but reading minds?

Give that to Fury, and Hydra wouldn't last a week inside S.H.I.E.L.D.

Actually, not just Hydra—Fury could dismantle enemies effortlessly with it.

As for the Wash-Wash Fruit…what, cleanse people of their sins?

That had to be a joke.

Fury's own "sins" were probably off the charts.

If anything, he'd need to wash himself first.

System glitch?

And finally, the Pump-Pump Fruit—boosting morale.

Please.

This was the man who used Coulson's death to manipulate both Captain Arica and Tony.

He didn't need inspiration—he needed a Lie-Lie Fruit.

Qin Xiao ntally roasted the system's choices.

But it also confird a pattern—the fruits matched a person's nature.

Wolverine and Sabretooth got combat-oriented abilities.

Fury?

Almost entirely defensive and strategic support.

"Envoy of the East… you seem less than impressed with ?"
