“Hi there.” I waved my hand as as greeting to the newcors.
The first one who caught my attention was obviously Serafall who seed to be fuming in curiosity at why I’m standing in the sa room as her.
The next one was a handso man with bright red hair that makes blood itself look pale in color.
His eyes stared at mine, perhaps so thoughts were swirling inside his mind.
Maybe he was wondering who I am or sothing like that.
I then used my magical senses to take a peek at his reserves and was shocked by what I saw.
Not only his reserves was thicker and potent than Serafall, but it also have this weird nature that seems to destroy the surroundings.
As if it wanted to destroy .
Feeling a chill up on my spine, I made a note to myself to be cautious around this man.
Behind him was a man with similar appearance except for his hair being less brighter and a red beard with protrusions that looks like a fang.
We both smiled at each other as a form of greeting.
Next one I saw was Ajuka himself, obviously recognizable considering that bright spiky green hair that stood out inside the room.
Nodding at him, he nodded back as response. We both already know each other, though I would like to have so ‘talk’ with him about the Evil Pieces and its possibility to be removed.
I tried using my magical senses on him only to fall short upon sensing the sa thing when I used it on Zekram.
So these guys sohow managed to have a spell that hides their demonic energy. It would be cool if I can learn it. It would be useful against people like who can sense other being’s energies.
Behind him was a similar-looking man but with a goatee instead.
And last but not the least, was a man with a very shiny head and manly goatee.
I would’ve thought this man was the normal-looking one out of all of us if it wasn’t for his slumped back and sleepy eyes that looked like he’s on the verge of sleeping.
Why is this guy even doing here? Did he get enough sleep?
If I were him, I would’ve stayed at ho and slept instead of bothering with etings that involve an entire race.
I tried nodding at him but received no response, I don’t know if it’s because he didn’t care or he just didn’t see .
I hope it’s the latter.
I also used magical sense on him and he’s on the sa level as Serafall in terms of both reserves and potency. Neat.
Then there’s his father who doesn’t look that much except for having large muscles.
“Looks like everyone is finally here. We can proceed with the continual of our last eting’s discussion.” Zekram spoke, causing everyone’s fathers to sit on their respective chairs, while the children stood behind them.
As for the chair I was sitting on earlier, it belongs to the red-haired man’s, so now I’m left standing instead.
As for Serafall, until now she’s still glaring at . If looks could still, I would be- you know what I an.
“Allow to introduce our new ally for this upcoming war.” Zekram then pointed at , allowing them to feast their eyes upon my presence.
“Everyone. My na is Chamberlain. I’m new here so please take care of .” I then bowed my head out of respect.
Dammit, that sounds so cringe. It sounded better in my head.
I raised my head again and saw them nodding their heads respectively, as if successfully assessing .
“Chamber here, is a unique case out of all of all.” Zekram spoke again, gaining everyone’s attention.
“How so?” It was a man who I didn’t know, who spoke with eagerness in his tone.
“Do everyone still rember the project that Ajuka proposed a few weeks ago?” A series of nods is what he got before continuing.
“Chamber here, is the first ever successful human who has turned into a devil with the help of Ajuka’s Evil Piece.” As soon as he dropped his words, a series of collective gaps except for a few can be heard across the eting room.
“Is this true?” It was Gideon, Head of the Sitri family who asked the question. It seems like he can’t believe that my background was more than just an ‘orphan’ in the Lucifaad.
“Yes it is, Lord Gideon. And I apologize for not telling you the truth.” I spoke up before Zekram could, I feel like it should be my responsibility to tell him the truth considering I was the one who lied.
I can see the swirl of thoughts in Gideon’s eyes, I’m not sure what he’s thinking but it’s definitely not good.
“Now, I’m sure Gideon won’t mind it, right? It’s all in the past and we must focus on our future.” I noticed a strange glint flashing in Zekram’s eyes as he looked at Gideon, who flinched, that might seem unnoticeable to others except for .
“…Of course. It’s a small matter compared to what we’re going to deal with in the future.” Gideon fixed his sitting position and cleared his throat.
“Well then. Let’s go back to our main topic. Aside from being the first human who turned into a devil, he also have a rather peculiar talent, it took him only a single month to turn into a High-class devil comparable to so heads of devil clans.” A look of disbelief appeared in everyone's eyes, making puff my chest slightly out of pride. It must be my devil genes taking over.
Aside from Serafall, who simply rolled her eyes at the announcent, others have varied reactions.
"So he's also a monster like Sirzechs and Ajuka." It was the bald man who spoke, what was his na again?
"Indeed he is, and before I forget, allow to introduce all of you to Chamber." Zekram then started pointing fingers at each mbers inside the eting room.
"Chamber, the one who just spoke is Falbium Glasya-Labolas, the heir of the Glasya-Labolas clan, sitting in front of him is Zephyr Glasya-Labolas, his father and also the current head of their clan." I can see Zephyr standing up, his shirt hugging his huge muscles as he offered a handshake.
"It's nice to et you, Chamber." Not wanting to be rude, I took his hand and shook it keenly.
Upon sensing how he's tightening his handshake, my lips quivered as I returned the sa strength at the sa manner, causing the huge man to laugh out loud.
"Hahaha! Looks like, Zekram wasn't lying, you're indeed a High-class devil." After that he sat down.
Zekram doesn't need to speak any more as everyone took this as a sign to introduce themselves automatically.
"Good to et you, Chamber-dono. My na is Zeoticus Gremory, and this is my son, Sirzechs Gremory." This ti, it was the red-haired father-son duo who introduced themselves.
So his na is Sirzechs, huh? I made eye contact with the said man, who smiled kindly and bowed his head.
"I hope we get along well, Chamber-dono."
What with these two and their weird imitation of japanese honorifics? Do these two hail from Japan?
As if sensing my confusion, Zekram opened his mouth and explained.
"Ah, I understand if you're confused, you see, the Gremory family is quite fond of Japanese culture to the point of buying their own ho over there." So in other words, these two are the world's first otakus? I understand.
The next one is Ajuka and his father.
"I am Dio Astaroth, head of the Astaroth clan, this genius behind is my son, Ajuka Astaroth." Ignoring the blonde haired man flashing in front of my eyes, I smiled and offered them a handshake.
"As the first human who experienced Ajuka's Evil Piece, you can say we're quite an acquiantance." I explained, sparing Ajuka the unnecessary ti of greeting , causing him to cast a grateful glance on my way.
"I won't need to introduce myself and my daughter, I'm sure you already know who we are." Gideon only stood up to acknowledge before sitting back down, all while Serafall silently mouthed the word 'Sorry'.
God dammit, is he still sour about that lie? It's not like the lie hard him or his family, right?
"Well I guess it's my turn now," This ti, the last one who introduced himself was alone, no father or child standing behind him.
"Kid, you're currently looking at the one and only Ti Lord, Seek Agares, the strongest Agares and the future head of the Agares clan." The man then puffed his chest while smirking, as if expecting to be amazed by his introduction.
From the corner of my eyes, I can see Zeoticus and Gideon, shaking their heads while the others are simply amused by him.
Well, that's one way to make a first impression, I guess?
"It's nice to et you I guess?" Seriously, these are the people I'm going to work with when overthrowing the current leaders of devil? Talk about a bunch of misfits.
"Now that we have gotten to know each other, its ti to proceed with our current plans. I know so of you are thinking why I invited Chamber to join us in our cause." True to his thoughts, he gained a collective nods from them, actually, I was among those who nodded, since technically, I also don't know the full reason why I am here.
"You see, after the Great War, it would be our job to handle the devils and the afteramaths in which I'm afraid so might take this chance to cause chaos to the human world, whom every pantheon gods swore not to ddle with, I don't want to paint a bad picture on us especially since we strive to prosper the devil society. Hence, this will be where Chamber cos in, as a forr human, I would like him to represent the human race, establish connections between our races. Chamber shall be the one to protect the human world from devils who would dare to cause trouble in their world." Before I could ask about his intentions, he continued.
"Especially now that our race is declining, we need more devils and that can only be achieved through Ajuka's Evil Pieces and the humans." My face suddenly turned grim as I finally realized his intentions.
"So in other words, you want to be a human trafficker? Sending humans for you to turn into devils. I apologize but I don't think I am suited into this kind of job." Just as I was about to form a portal to leave, Zekram replied.
"It seems you have misunderstood my intentions, Chamber. I don't want you to deliver humans to turn into devils, I only want you to make sure the humans thrive without any interference from us devils."
"And why would you want them to thrive." I raised an eyebrow.
"Humans....are a bunch of interesting people and I just simply want to form a proper alliance with them. Humans tend to beco every supernatural being's toys, getting tossed and played around by them"
"As for the Evil Pieces, I have already made the necessary laws and regulations when it cos to those. This here contains all of them." He then handed a folder that has been sitting on the table since I arrived here.
Accepting them, I skimd my eyes inside and the more I read, the wider my eyes beco.
This guy...This guy is turning into the world's first capitalist!
The folder contains a bunch of paragraphs and sentences dictating what must and must not be done when recruiting humans with the Evil Pieces such as how only High-class devils like are allowed to be given the Evil Pieces to use. Then there's about how the devils shouldn't use force or any sort of blackmail to make the human agree to turn into devils. Then the last one was what shocked the most.
Zekram is allowing those who reincarnated into devils to reach High-class and upon doing so, shall be free from the devil who reincarnated them and bear his own Evil Pieces, effectively turning them as part of the Devil's upper hierachy.
Its like letting your slave reach the sa status as you and even letting them own their own slaves!
