Chapter 6095, Inevitable Parting
Author: Silavin
*Ziii* At that very instant, space around the two seed to freeze over as the world turned dark. Dark to the point where no light was in sight, where ti seed to hold no aning.
This was the first ti since reaching the World Creation Realm that Yang Kai had been enraged to this extent. Who was this young man, who dared to make demands of a Father to relinquish his children!?
The pressure Yang Kai bore down, crushing space with his re Will, upon the other party could easily decimate an Open Heaven Realm Master. Yet, Wu Lun just stood there, seemingly unaffected.
In fact, he still bore a smile, a more tired one, as he raised both his hands up in seeming resignation. “Look, I really an no harm. I’m just here to talk. If you want to bla soone, bla that parasite clinging onto those Twins of yours. We rely established an agreent, and I have to keep my end of the bargain.”
Wu Lun’s eyes soon turned sharp as he exhaled, “Or, do you really want to try ?”
As soon as those words left his mouth, a seemingly unexplainable power oozed out from his very being. Yang Kai had never felt this before, as it seed both foreign and familiar at the sa ti. Nevertheless, this seemingly small move was enough to fracture the space that Yang Kai had isolated them in, and they returned back to the real world.
“As I suspected, like her, you are not from here, are you?” Yang Kai took a deep breath and asked. Despite the rage he felt earlier, after so many years spent raising children and taking care of High Heaven Palace, he had gained a more collected head.
If it were the past, he might have directly lashed out with all his might, staking even his life. However, after having children, it could be said that Yang Kai had llowed out considerably.
Even if out of anger, that earlier move was just a probe. Even so, that move was not sothing just anyone could undo, especially not with such ease. Yang Kai had a feeling that he would not be able to handle Wu Lun without sacrifices, and this just proved it.
As for risking the lives of those around him with this probe, Yang Kai knew that if Wu Lun wanted to harm others, he could have easily done so while hiding in the dark. No need to expose himself like this.
Wu Lun, seemingly also knowing that the probing was done, chuckled, “My my. No need to probe into so much. I have no interest in n. On a more serious note, though I can’t tell you much, I believe you already know the answer to most of those questions in your heart.”
Yang Kai ignored his attempt at a joke and then thought a little before asking, “Then, are you from the Taboo Realm?”
“Taboo Realm?” Wu Lun seed surprised at the sudden ntion of this term. So, he gave a pause and clicked his fingers, “Oh. That. So that’s what you call it here.”
Wu Lun stopped saying anything and just shook his head. Then, he placed his index finger on his lips and smiled.
Yang Kai, seeming to piece the puzzles together, gave a nod and with a wave of his hand, used his Divine Sense to move a tea set in front of Wu Lun, preparing it for the latter. After all, he felt like there was much to talk about with this mysterious man, and he seed amicable to provide a few answers, though they might not resolve much.
However, Wu Lun shook his head, and refused the tea, gently pushing the floating set away from him. “Though it slls of delight, like I said, I am not one who hopes to get tied to more karma. It would do neither of us any good for to stay here any longer. Besides informing you about your children, I am here for nothing else. This is where the karma between us ends.”
Seeing that he was being quite adamant on his stance, Yang Kai also hardened his stance and shook his head, refusing, “And I did not allow you to take them away, did I? Sit and explain, else we will really have a problem.”
Wu Lun just sighed. At the very next mont, his form turned illusionary, as though he was a re manifestation.
In front of Yang Kai, he faded into nothingness, leaving behind nothing. Not a scent, not a hair. It was as if he had never even entered this room.
Naturally, Yang Kai imdiately tried to use his Divine Sense to scan for his location, but it was to no avail. It was truly as if he had just vanished into thin air.
“Are you serious?” Yang Kai’s eyes widened in shock. Many things ca to mind at this very mont. [How did he do that? How am I unable to sense him? He’s no longer even in High Heaven Academy.]
As he tried to think things through, a voice suddenly echoed in his mind.
“You need not worry. They will also be attending school…”
“Wait!” Yang Kai shouted but no response ca back. Wu Lun truly moved as though no one could have stopped him.
…
“And even you could no longer sense him?”
“No, and I’m the one that created this space. How does that even make sense? Unless…”
“You’re right. That’s the only possibility. I can’t think of anything else. But to think that such a being ca here of all places…”
Two voices were talking about the events that took place monts ago in this very spot.
Naturally, those two voices were from Yang Kai and Shi. Not wanting to alarm his Wives, Yang Kai could only choose to confide in the possibly last remaining person who would know about such mysterious matters within the 3,000 Worlds, Shi.
These two n had conversed for days and nights about the Taboo Realm and other such matters. After all, only such an ancient being like Shi might possess clues as to the truth of the world that Yang Kai wanted to uncover.
Still, the mysteries of the world remained out of reach. They had been stuck on certain problems, and had been unable to resolve them, until now.
It seed like the Twins, be it a blessing or a curse, seem to attract the attention of beings outside of this world. First was the Heavenly Demon Queen, then ca Wu Lun. Two such instances, were they a re coincidence, or was fate playing with the lives of the two children?
And, it seed like there was a force drawing away those two, away from the 3,000 Worlds.
Yang Kai knew that those two loved to go on adventures. In fact, other material objects held little interest to them. If they were to be allowed to choose a life of absolute luxury, or a life of arduous adventure, the Twins would naturally incline towards the latter.
[Maybe, such is their fate, to explore the truth of the world…]
From what they gathered, there was a place far more mysterious than the Taboo Realm. It could not be ntioned nor touched upon. There seed to be so kind of Restriction, where those who knew sothing would suffer a backlash upon trying to broach the subject.
Nevertheless, such a matter was basically proven when Wu Lun could easily break through the Principles Yang Kai had manipulated.
He could not possibly be from another world that was of equal status to theirs, where their World Principles were on the sa level as theirs. Otherwise, it would not be possible for him to unravel the Principles controlled by Yang Kai with such ease.
This difference was akin to a Flood Dragon trying to deal with a True Dragon. The difference was so stark, it was painful.
It was clear that Wu Lun had mastered a Dao outside of the 3,000 Daos that Yang Kai had mastered, and it was a Dao that was of a higher caliber than the 3,000 Daos that Yang Kai knew of.
For Yang Kai, there was only one thing that made this possible. It was that other path he had stepped half a foot into but had yet to reach. The path which Yang Ji had seen yet failed to step foot into and was frustrated by the knowledge of their current ‘mistaken’ path.
“And he said that he was going to take my children away…” Yang Kai sighed and looked at Shi, but the man seed to be contemplating sothing before answering, in earnest, “Then, why not let him?”
“What!? How could you even say that? He is going to take my children to Heaven knows where.” Yang Kai was taken aback at how Shi was so cold to them.
Shi then raised his hand, stopping Yang Kai. “You too left your ho at a relatively young age. What’s more, keeping them here would only hinder their future potential. Just look around you. How has this whole place benefitted them? Have they gained any friends? Have they gotten stronger?”
Yang Kai paused for a mont and Shi took the opportunity to continue. “You and your Wives would just be deceiving yourselves if all of you believe you can raise those two within this safe nest of yours. The other children, sure. But those two? Just look at this whole school. Your Wives had to move to fix up their ss. In the end, who benefits? Did this whole ordeal teach them anything else except about Master-Disciple etiquette and their customs?”
“You and your Wives have sheltered them long enough. Even I would find it difficult to teach them anything useful about cultivation. They… Their path is sothing that they should walk themselves. Even if reluctant, as their Father, are you going to hinder them?” Shi stared deep into Yang Kai’s eyes. He could tell that the once adventurous young man had matured so much. Yet, as a Parent, he had yet to take the final step, which was to let go.
The two n knew that this was the truth. However, while one had aged and seen much growth and death, connecting and parting, the other was still hoping to cling on for longer. He knew they would inevitably go their separate ways, but he just hoped that it was not now.
After all, even at the world behind the Profound Source Gate, Yang Kai had not allowed the Twins to leave his sight. Although he was harsher towards them, it was only relative to his Wives and his Parents.
Even when giving them trials, when did he ever allow their lives to be up to fate?
He thought that he was already being very disciplined when he dealt with them, that he was being the harsh Parent. However, he failed to see that he too was still soft on them. At least, this was a far cry from when he tried to raise Yang Xiao.
Yang Kai closed his eyes for a mont and took a deep breath. It was… difficult for him to accept. He knew the answer but his heart was reluctant.
And like that, Shi just shook his head and talked about other matters for now.
After all, even if one runs away from the inevitable, it would still one day arrive to face them.
