Yang Kai returned to his secluded cave, taking out the pills refined by Xia Ning Chang and swallowing them to enhance his strength.

The old dusty incense burner had also been taken out again, emitting a fragrance which suppressed his True Yang Secret Art’s circulation speed.

For more than ten days Yang Kai had been in secluded practice within his secluded cave, every day he would swallow pills to enhance his strength.

Every day as the sun was rising in the east, the purple gas filling the air, Yang Kai would continue to practice the Tempered Body Record, and with the growth in his cultivation and physical strength, his ability to endure the Tempered Body Record’s training had also greatly increased, almost to the point where he could complete a third of the entire set of motions. However, the more he progressed the more difficult the motions beca, every movent he made feeling more and more like his bones were snapping under an imnse pressure.

In that quiet stone chamber, he was not entirely alone. Day after day, one of his wives — whether it was Su Yan, Mo Yanyu, or his Little Senior Sister Xia Ning Chang — would visit from ti to ti, bringing him delicious food to share. They would sit together, chatting to pass the monotony of seclusion.

Sotis, when the conversation drifted to comfortable silence, Xia Ning Chang would curl up beside him on the stone bed, drifting into a light nap. And sotis, the silent cave would echo with more intimate sounds.

Yang Kai had long ago realized the benefits of this dual cultivation as he was aware of just how astonishingly pure his body’s Yuan Qi had beco. While he had not beco a True Elent cultivator, his Qi was not significantly inferior in quality to a general True Elent Boundary master’s True Qi.

Whether it was Yang Kai or Su Yan, they both instinctively understood this, and so they dual cultivated diligently, and although they had only done so a few tis, the results were enough to frighten people to death.

Di Yalan and Mu Yu Die had also quietly settled within High Heaven Pavilion, Su Yan had arranged for them to stay under her protection, presenting them outwardly as old friends who had co to rely on her.

--------------

As the days passed, Yang Kai’s secluded cultivation continued without pause. After nearly half a month of relentless training, the once dusty stone cave felt cleansed by the heat of his Yang Qi and the steady scent of Xia Ning Chang’s dicinal incense.

In addition to swallowing every pill Little Senior Sister had refined for him, Yang Kai also used this ti to cultivate beside the Coiling Dragon Stream, drawing in the ambient World Energy and converting it into Yang Liquid to store in his dantian. By the end of his seclusion, his cultivation had climbed steadily to the peak of the Separation and Reunion Boundary — just one step away from the True Elent Boundary.

Now, all he lacked was an opportunity. A catalyst strong enough to break through that thin, stubborn barrier.

One crisp evening, Yang Kai sat cross-legged at the entrance of his secluded cave. The gentle night breeze brushed against his face, carrying the faint scent of pine and cold stone. His eyes were calm, yet behind them thoughts churned like a hidden fla.

Suddenly, a faint rustle echoed in the dark corridor. The sound of fluttering clothes drifted in, light but clear.

Yang Kai opened his eyes and stood, expression sharpening. "Treasurer ng?"

"Heh heh heh!" A burst of hearty laughter rolled through the cave mouth. ng Wu Ya stepped into the moonlight, his old face squeezed up with mirth, eyes narrowed into slits that glead mischievously.

Yang Kai frowned slightly, unsure why the old man seed so unusually happy tonight.

But ng Wu Ya’s smile suddenly stiffened as he stopped just in front of Yang Kai. Without a word, the old man’s hand clapped down onto Yang Kai’s shoulder while the other pressed lightly over his dantian.

Yang Kai froze as a strange, probing force spread through him.

"Your aura..." ng Wu Ya’s voice sank, and his eyes flared with a sharp light. "During your battle that day before, I saw it — your Yuan Qi was mixed with a bloodthirsty, violent tinge. Answer honestly, boy. Have you stepped onto the Devil’s Path?"

Yang Kai t his sharp gaze without flinching. "No!" He shook his head firmly, his tone calm but resolute.

ng Wu Ya stared hard into his eyes, searching for a flicker of deceit. But he found none. Yang Kai understood what the old man sensed — the fierce aura, the devouring edge — but it was no devil’s influence. It was the unique nature of the Golden Skeleton.

Silence stretched between them. Finally, ng Wu Ya pulled back his hands with a faint snort, half-amused, half-exasperated. He clearly had more questions, but in the end, he only sighed and let them go.

"Fine," ng Wu Ya muttered. "I won’t pry this ti. Just don’t lose yourself. The path you tread is too strange — even this old man can’t see the end of it."

Yang Kai dipped his head slightly, accepting the warning without excuse.

After a mont, ng Wu Ya chuckled again, the sternness lting back into his usual good humor. "Brat, do you know how much noise you made during that fight? You showed off a Mysterious Grade martial skill in front of too many eyes. Now half the nearby sects know your na — and your strength. I guarantee you trouble will co knocking soon."

Yang Kai smiled faintly. "Where can I run to avoid it?"

"Hah! You don’t run. I’ll take you myself." ng Wu Ya flicked his sleeve with a flourish, his grin so wide you could see the back of his teeth. "Pack your things. We leave at dawn."

Yang Kai did not ask where. He only bowed lightly. "Then I must trouble Treasurer ng."

"There’s no need to be so polite with !" ng Wu Ya let out a wheezing laugh.

As long as I send this little troublemaker far enough away for now, this old man disciple might finally get a few days of peace after so much tossing.

Yang Kai didn’t argue. He simply turned, stepping back into the cave to gather the few items he had — pills, the old incense burner, his old travel pack — ready to et whatever waited for him next.
