Chapter 740: Freedom?
In that mont, Mars’ oppressive shadow fell over Kiernan, Julian, Langham, and Big Brain girl.
Rochan, Renette, and the rest were a heartbeat too late in reacting to Mars’ movents, so they weren’t capable of catching up to him.

Kiernan put on brakes, stopped himself in his tracks, and as Mars’ warhamr strike ca at him, he swiftly sidestepped to avoid the hit.
The warhamr kept on his trajectory, and with wide eyes, Langham watched as it ca straight at him.
Before he could utter another word, the warhamr shattered his head into pieces, and Langham’s body just dropped to the ground lifeless.
A silence fell over the criminals as their faces turned pale.
“Fuuuck!”
Rochan scread and, with sword in hand, stabbed it deep into Mars’ back until it went straight through.
“Cough!”
Mars coughed blood and collapsed to the ground, his eyes wide with shock.
“Oh shit…”
Kiernan looked at Langham’s lifeless body and showed a fake grimace.
“What were you thinking? You should’ve waited, and then we should’ve left together.”
Rochan looked at him angrily and questioned him with a quite hostile tone.
“I thought it was better to get a head start before the navy arrived, and you guys seed to be keeping Mars occupied… a miscalculation.”
Kiernan said.
“Hmph…”
Rochan wiped the blood off his sword with a napkin and turned his gaze to the corpse of Langham.
“Let’s get going!”
The criminals shouted after seeing the open elevator.
“Hey, help us!”
In that mont, the inmates of the fifth floor pleaded for them to open the cell doors.
“Can you open them?”
Rochan asked Kiernan.
“…I can’t. It is only possible to open those cell doors from the control room.”
Kiernan said.
“Then cut these doors!”
They shouted.
“It will not be possible to cut through those cell doors. We don’t have any other choice than to leave them be.”
Kiernan said and entered the elevator, waiting for everyone else to follow behind him.
“Well… Sorry, boys!”
The criminals laughed and waved their hands at the angry fifth-floor inmates and entered the elevator.
There was only one person that didn’t follow right behind, and that was Rochan, who stood beside Langham’s corpse.
In that mont, Rochan stabbed his sword into Langham’s chest—right in the middle—where the martial soul was said to be located.
‘What is he doing?’
Kiernan asked from himself.
It was the sa question shared by most of the criminals, and then, Rochan entered the elevator with a silent expression.
With a press of a button, the elevator doors closed.
They went through the fourth, third, and second floors without eting any resistance, and finally, after arriving at the first floor, there was a small group of prison guards standing between them and the exit.
“W-Where is Mars?”
Daemon couldn’t believe his eyes.
These filthy inmates actually managed to kill the Prison Warden?!
The rest of the prison guards also looked bleached, and after seeing the bloodlusty gaze of the inmates, they dropped their weapons and escaped inside their quarters.
“Should we kill them?”
A criminal asked.
“A waste of ti. Let’s go!”
Rochan shouted.
Following his lead, they ran into the first chamber of the Downed Prison, where the small pond was.
This was the first place they rembered of the Downed Prison when the navy vessel brought them here.
At the ceiling, the exit was closed, and their freedom was so insanely close.
The criminals licked their lips and already trembled in anticipation.
“What about this?”
Rochan asked, turning to Kiernan with a narrowed gaze, as if he were suspicious of him about sothing.
“This… I can open.”
Kiernan touched his forehead, contacted the Explosive Paper Slip figurines over at the control room, and they pressed a button.
In that mont, the alarm went off, and the ceiling opened, causing water to co rushing in with force.
“Ahh!”
“It’s open!”
“Fuck, the water is coming in! We have to swim!”
The water quickly overwheld them and filled the room, causing them to desperately start to swim up towards the surface.
Fighting against the current, Kiernan pulled Julian behind him, as he had greater strength to fight against the current.
A little over a hundred criminals all swam in the dark waters and saw the moonlight’s glorious reflection on the surface of the waters.
Their eyes widened in happiness, and then, they ca up for air with big smiles on their faces.
World Seas’ salty and chilly wind blew through their hair, and for the first ti in a long ti, they felt like they were free.
“Freedom!”
“Let’s go!”
“Finally!”
They celebrated loudly.
However, in that mont, bright lights shone at them, causing them to squint and cover their eyes.
When they adjusted to the bright lights, they looked around and ca face-to-face with a terrifying sight.
“This is Fleet Admiral of the Navy, Ethan Blackforest. Raise your arms in surrender, and do not attempt to escape, or we will use lethal force in bringing you down!”
A fleet of about a hundred navy ships was surrounding the nearby seas, and the criminals, kicking their feet in the water, looked as small as ants in the presence of the mighty battleships.
Ethan Blackforest lowered his speakerphone, and on his left and right sides, the Admirals of the Navy stood at attention.
The greatest force of the World Seas, the Navy, had co here in their full power!

The criminals wondered, and at that ti, they all turned to Rochan with shocked expressions as they realized what his ability was.
‘He can steal other people’s abilities.’
Kiernan thought with an ugly expression.
