The Capital City, the Selection Mansion, the great hall.
"Those who are in the red, thank you for participating, but unfortunately, you have been eliminated from the competition."
The headmaster said with a grave expression.
Within the crowd, many faces showed agony as their black wristwatches started beeping with red light.
The number of competitors dropped drastically, as many didn’t acquire a single point in the first day. It was just too hard.
There weren’t enough missions, and those who acquired points through missions didn’t want to participate in any fighting.
Those who were eliminated left through a back entrance—so were crying, so were angry at themselves, and the rest were silent with disappointnt.
"And those who are left, congratulations for passing the first elimination phase, and to congratulate you all, a feast has been prepared!"
The headmaster said, and clapped his hands together.
Through another entrance, they were led to the grand dining hall with seven long tables, stretching for hundreds of ters, with thousands of seats arranged around them.
"Wow..."
"So much food!"
"That’s amazing!"
On the tables, food of all sorts, gathered from all around the world, and prepared by the best human chefs, was placed, just waiting to be enjoyed by the hungry students.
"This is why we didn’t have dinner earlier today!"
"I am famished!"
With hungry gazes, everyone found seats, and without any dinner prayers, they all dug in eagerly.
The sound of chatter, laughter, and clinking silverware filled the dining hall.
With a cup of light beer, a plate of roasted chicken, and a side of mashed potatoes standing before him, Kiernan dove into his al with gusto.
When he reached out for his fork, with the black wristwatch on his right wrist, those seated nearby him happened to catch a glimpse of it.
The high number took their attention away from the food.
"He is Kiernan Hunter... The current top-ranked participant."
"Hmm... I rember him from the Junior Martial Arts Championship. I didn’t expect him to be this good."
"Yeah, apparently he cleared the mission of the Bloodthirsty Bear. I thought about trying that, but that punishnt was just too crazy to try."
"I guess you need to be a little crazy to succeed in martial arts."
It was so loud that Kiernan didn’t hear what they were talking about him, but he could feel those gazes lingering in his way.
In that mont, a mission board was wheeled to the front of the dining hall, where the headmaster, and other organizer mbers were eating their fill.
When the mission board ca, everyone’s gaze went there, as they realized that now, since it was officially the start of the second day, new missions would co!
"Ahem, please turn your attention over here!"
The headmaster spoke, and the loud chatter of the young martial artists quieted down till only a few sounds of silverware clinking against plates could be heard.
While everyone turned silent to listen, they were still enjoying their al, as they had grown pretty hungry.
All day they were trying to hunt for any kind of points after most of them failed to find any golden bracelets.
While Kiernan was fighting Dark Kiernan—the hallucination—all the gold bracelets happened to be found, unfortunately.
With almost ten thousand people searching for those gold bracelets, it was pretty expected for those gold bracelets to be found quickly.
"Today’s missions will be Masters of Martial Arts—soon, there will be a GPS location appearing in your wristwatch.
"It will take you to the location of the master, whom you will fight, and they will judge your abilities.
"The more you impress the Master, the more points you will acquire, and that will be the only mission for the second day of the selection!"
The headmaster said.
The young martial artists looked nervous, excited, and eager—those who were confident in their abilities thought that it was finally their chance of increasing their ranking.
"The judgnt of the masters will take you far. They will judge everyone individually, write their thoughts on all of you, and will give those thoughts to us.
"When only 100 people remain in the selection, we will gather with the Human Governnt and other important figures of the world to decide the final outco.
"To decide the seven representatives."
The headmaster said.
Gulp~
A few sounds of gulps sounded, as this ant that it was extrely important to impress the masters.
If they failed to impress them, they might as well kiss goodbye to their dreams of representing the humans in the tournant.
It was a dream for many of them to participate in the tournant, as they would be forever printed into history books.
Either as great losers or great winners.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
In that mont, everyone’s wristwatches beeped, and GPS locations appeared on the small screens to show where to go.
Without finishing their als, most of them just jumped off their seats and imdiately took to a run, as they wanted to be the first ones there.
"...Hmm, in the forest."
Kiernan wasn’t in a hurry, and enjoyed his al while looking at the location that was sent over to him.
He happened to check a few other wristwatches near him, and they all led to different places.
So were inside the mansion, so were over in the mountains, and one person even had to head back to the Capital City!
On the black wristwatch, there was also the na of the master that he had to impress, and it was quite an interesting one.
[Orochi - The Master of the Earth Stomp Style]
’Orochi... I haven’t heard of that na, but since he is one of the masters, he must be a mighty existence.’
Kiernan took his sweet ti drinking the light beer and stuffing the mashed potatoes and roasted chicken into his mouth.
When he was done, there were only about two dozen people remaining in the dining hall, enjoying their al.
They had the sa thought as Kiernan.
It was better to have a full stomach than an empty one when they were going to face one of the masters.
