Chapter 456: Grand President of New Rakuya

New Rakuya, Tiamut.

At the highest floor of a skyscraper that had the word “Governnt” engraved on its side, as if it was a reminder to all citizens.

A eting was currently being held—a eting to decide New Rakuya’s representative for the upcoming Junior Martial Arts Championship.

It was a serious eting, and the tournant was extrely important for the future of their country.

It was because the weakest countries would have a possibility to increase the tier of their country if they perford well.

While this tournant was only a small part of the overall process, it carried significant weight in determining the country’s international reputation.

If their younger generation did well, it would speak well about the future of their country.

Bop~ Bop~ Bop~

The mayor of the city of Tiamut stretched the corner of his mouth, and when he let go of it, it made a loud popping noise that echoed through the room.

It looked like he was bored.

The rest of the governnt officials just sat in silence, so scribbling on their notepads, and a few were just shifting in their seats.

At that mont, the door of the eting room opened, and wearing a nice suit, an elderly man walked in confidently.

“Sorry that I am late. My golf lessons stretched later than usual, but I assu that we haven’t begun the eting yet?”

The grand president of the country of New Rakuya asked and took a seat at the end of the eting table.

Grand President—a title given to the leader of the country, and in New Rakuya’s case, it belonged to the strongest man born in that country.

Robert Masters—the only Martial Legend within the borders of New Rakuya.

“We haven’t started yet, but if you are ready, we can begin at any mont.”

A person said.

“Yes. This eting shouldn’t be too long. A decision should be rather straightforward, right?”

Robert said.

“We have a couple of candidates.”

With needles in hand, a dark-haired man plastered a few faces on the whiteboard.

“We have Kiernan Hunter. Julian Noah and Dylan Seer.”

A man said.

“Ah yes… No more of Zachary Lokiah, I take it? The scandal with him truly made our entire country look bad, but it only puts Kiernan higher in my opinion.

“After all, he defeated a cheater that was pumped out of his mind with Power Drugs. I don’t think there is any question whether we should pick him, right?”

Robert said.

“True. While Julian Noah is also impressive, he was not born in New Rakuya soil, so we can’t consider him as one of our own, so we shouldn’t consider him for the role.

“Dylan Seer. While he didn’t participate in the nationals because of his non-association with any of the schools, he still showed great potential and skill in the regional competitions.

“However, he doesn’t hold a candle to Kiernan.”

A man said.

“A decision has been made then. Send the word to the Junior Martial Arts Championship’s representative so they can send their ship over.

“Send a word over to the Hunter family, but if you can’t reach them, leave a ssage for Azer Karuza, the principal of Karuza High.”

Robert said.

Everyone nodded in unison, and as soon as the Grand President stood up, they followed suit and dispersed from the room.

‘An hour waiting for the Grand President for the eting to end in just a few minutes. The classic example of New Rakuya’s governnt at work.’

The mayor of Tiamut rolled his eyes as he walked into the elevator, pressed the bottom floor button, and watched as the doors closed right in front of his face.

“Yes… I understand.”

Azer, with the phone pressed against his ear, nodded repeatedly with a smile slowly spreading across his face.

However, he kept his voice slow and steady—he didn’t want to sound too excited but also didn’t want to sound too nonchalant.

Then, the phone call ended, and he slowly put the phone down on the desk.

“Yes…”

He pumped his fist in the air in excitent and then pressed a button on his desk—it was a button that would transfer his voice to the speakerphone.

“Kiernan Hunter. Kiernan Hunter. Co over to the principal’s office at your earliest convenience.”

Azer stopped pressing the button, put his thoughts in order, and turned his gaze to the door.

A minute passed. Two passed. Three passed.

At that mont, a knock sounded on the door, and after saying “co in”, the door opened, and Kiernan walked into the room with a puzzled look on his face.

It was never nice to get sent to the principal’s office, as it almost always ant that he was in trouble one way or another.

“Please, take a seat.”

Azer pointed at the seat across from his desk, and Kiernan got seated while tidying up his school uniform.

“I received a call from New Rakuya’s governnt. A scary sentence to start with, I know, but it is good news this ti around.

“You’ve been officially selected as New Rakuya’s representative for the upcoming Junior Martial Arts Championship.”

Azer said with a smile.

“Oh?”

Kiernan nodded quite casually.

“Not happy?”

Azer asked with a raised eyebrow.

“I am happy, sure. However, I thought it was already a sure thing, anyway. It was just a matter of ti before the call ca, no?”

Kiernan said with a tilt of his head.

To him, there was no way he wouldn’t have been chosen.

“Haha, I do like your confidence, and what you said is true. If you hadn’t been chosen, I bet there would have been riots in the streets of Irio, haha.

“You will be picked up in the coming days.”

Azer said.

“Picked up? In what, like a helicopter or sothing?”

Kiernan asked.

“Haha, it’s better for you to see it for yourself. A surprise awaits.”

Azer said, stood up from his seat, and shook Kiernan’s hand firmly.

“This is different from nationals now. You don’t only carry the hopes of one city on your back, but the entire country.

“We’ll be rooting for you, and don’t put too high of expectations on yourself. The greatest talents of the world will be there.”

Azer said.

“Sure thing~”

Kiernan said, and with that, he left the office, but he had already put the highest possible expectations on himself.

He was going for the victory, of course, even if there was no one in the world that could believe in his victory.
