"Martial… Order?"
Kiernan's eyes widened in surprise.
"All my information cos from that book I read. It was pretty much his journal, and on the last page, he ntioned that he was being chased by Martial Order, an ancient order of extrely powerful individuals."
Master Arakawa said.
"I see… I should continue cleaning."
Kiernan said and absentmindedly continued sweeping while Master Arakawa headed out to the town.
'Martial Order… a coincidence, or am I part of sothing much greater?'
Kiernan wondered and felt an itch to take out his phone and contact his master, but if Junior Instructor Tanaka saw him not cleaning, he might kick him out.
'I cannot afford to fail this quest. If I fail one quest, I'll fail both, so the system might go so destiny-changing shit, and Neal's destiny would be back to square one. I have to make sure that doesn't happen.'
He grabbed the floor scrubbing brush and began cleaning the hallway vigorously, waiting for the ti to tick down.
…
Smash!
At the ti of the sun's disappearance, Kiernan entered his room as his cleaning shift ended a minute ago and brought out his phone.
He dialed Sabbath's number and waited for him to answer.
…Minutes passed by.
"Weird…"
Kiernan frowned and looked at his phone.
He didn't want to be impatient, as Sabbath could be currently busy and would call him back, but he thought about contacting Martial Order about his findings.
'They can tell more… Sabbath told to trust them, but I don't know. They're strangers… Well, so is Sabbath.'
Kiernan sighed, opened the Martial Order app, and checked the chat ssages—the previous ssages were sent an hour ago.
They had so conversation about tropical storms in the World Sea's Helifax Region, as they believed it was the doing of a Martial Ability user.
"What should I ask…"
Kiernan rubbed his forehead, shrugged his shoulders, and typed with both thumbs.
[Revenant: I've co across King of the West World's journal, who lived around the Old Stone Age, and he ntioned Martial Order. Is that related to us?]
Kiernan let out a deep breath and waited for soone to answer back.
'The Old Stone Age happened thousands of years ago, so we could be nothing but an imitation of them.'
Ding! Ding!
It didn't take long for soone to reply to him.
[Detective: I've heard about the King of the West World. He was one of the most powerful beings of the Old Stone Age, but most of the information about him disappeared during the New Silver Age. No one knows how he died, but since you have his journal, do you know how?]
'Detective. I don't think I've seen him in the chat before. Is Detective nickna a trick, or is he actually a detective? If so, he could be a dangerous person, and if I give him too many leads, he might find out who I am.'
Kiernan rubbed his chin and then answered quickly.
[Revenant: Martial Order killed him]
While King of the West World died of his injuries, those injuries were caused by Martial Order, but his actual death might've been caused by himself, as he ripped his own martial soul out of his body.
Both might be the reason for his demise.
[Detective: I see… Martial Order is never ntioned in the tales of history I've studied vigorously, and I've never co across that na]
'Really? By the sound of it, Martial Order was a powerful order back in the Old Stone Age, and since people know of the King of the West World, it is strange that no one has heard about Martial Order.'
[Imperio: I am not surprised that there might be another organization of the sa na as us. The world is spanning millions of years and is filled with countless groups and orders. It's not like Martial Order is a complex na to co up with!]
[Hero Among Rulers: Shut up, Imperio, are you undermining Old King's intelligence? This journal of his might not even be true. Revenant hasn't spoken a word with us here in the entire year he has been here!]
'I don't like that guy…'
Kiernan thought as he looked at Hero Among Rulers' na.
At that mont, the whole chat turned quiet as a gold-plated na appeared on the chat for the first ti in a very long ti.
[Old King: Well done, young Revenant. Before I created the New… Martial Order, I discovered a journal of martial artists of the Old Stone Age. They were the most powerful fighters of their ti, and they called themselves the Martial Order]
'Old King… the creator of Martial Order answered ?'
Kiernan's eyes widened in shock.
Whenever he was going to sleep, late at night, he always visited the Martial Order app to check what everyone was speaking about so that he could find out sothing new.
It helped increase his knowledge greatly.
However, he had never seen Old King speak a word in the chat, and it was clearly a shocking thing, as no one said a thing in the chat.
[Old King: I know they created the order in the first place to combat a great threat to existence. I didn't know who, as so of the pages were missing, but thanks to you, I now know]
[Old King: Martial Order was created to defeat the King of the West World. Once they succeeded, they didn't disband and beca the protectors of the Martial World and Paradise World]
[Old King: I don't know what happened at the ending stages of the Old Stone Age, but Martial Order disappeared… They all might've been destroyed]
'All this new information is just overwhelming . Who could've destroyed such a powerful organization? I can't even begin to imagine the scale of power needed to accomplish that.'
[Old King: Young Revenant, could it be possible for you to send King of the West World's journal? I would greatly appreciate it, and I shall reward you]
'Reward… A reward from him must be extraordinary. However, I must steal the journal from Arakawa… His senses are trained to the extre, and he'll find out if I even breathe in the sa air as him.'
Kiernan rubbed his chin, but he couldn't possibly tell them that he wasn't in possession of the journal.
They would imdiately think that he was lying about everything he was saying.
'I can't take too long answering either. It would look suspicious as hell!'
He quickly typed.
[Revenant: I shall prepare for the ceremony]
