Boom! Boom! Boom!
Celebratory fireworks exploded across the dark sky, looking like sparks of magic dancing in the night.
On the massive screen of the stadium, the word "Winner" appeared in bold letters, and faces of the winning team appeared below that.
"It is oveeeeeeeeeeeeeer!"
"After a hard-fought battle, the winner is Kiernan Hunter of Karuza High! Karuza High are your New Rakuya champions of the high school division!"

The steam cloud enveloped Kiernan like a warm blanket, and when it was done hugging him, his body had returned back to normal.
"…"
Kiernan wiped the blood off his lips, but at that mont, he felt warmth hugging him from behind.
"You did it!"
Julia hugged him from behind, and at the sa ti, the rest of Karuza High embraced him, crying tears of joy and relief.
"It's finally over…"
Coach Jin's legs turned to jelly, and he sank to the ground, overwheld with emotion. His tears poured out of his eyes like a waterfall.

Sabbath stayed quiet and watched as Alabaster left without saying a word, not even staying behind for the trophy ceremony.
Out of respect and sportsmanship, the losing team often stayed behind to congratulate the winning team even though their dreams were crushed.
Yet, Alabaster showed zero regard for that and just left without acknowledging anyone.
"I will be back, coach."
Sabbath said and walked away.
"Ah, where are you going?"
Coach Jin asked after him, but he received no word and just watched in surprise as Sabbath left without looking back.
Kiernan saw him also leave and then stepped down from the ring while clutching his sides, where he had plenty of broken ribs.
It was painful to walk, and honestly, those hugs and embraces just now made everything worse, but he didn't acknowledge it as he didn't want them to feel bad.
"How are you feeling?"
Coach Jin asked, knowing that Kiernan received quite a bit of punishnt in the fight just now, and he couldn't possibly be in perfect condition.
"Sadly, I must skip the ceremony. I need to get treatnt."
Kiernan said, and everyone understood his decision.
While walking back to the locker room, Kiernan looked at the floating holographic texts in front of him, and it helped to distract him from the pain.

At that mont, a black ball appeared in his inventory. It looked strange, as there was an eye in the center of it, and it looked like a living creature as the eye moved.
'I'll… check that out soon.'
Kiernan stumbled to his locker room, and with the pain almost crippling his movents, he managed to reach the corridor that led to the infirmary.
With slow, painful steps, he finally reached the infirmary, and as if they expected him to co, there were couple of doctors waiting for him.
They got him settled on the bed, checked his injuries, and after each thing they found, they looked more and more shocked.
"How is he… even alive?"
A doctor said to the nurse.
"His injuries are extrely severe. Our dicine is not enough to help him to do a full recovery. It might be difficult even for the Main Hospital's equipnt to get him to full strength."
The nurse said worryingly.
"…"
The doctor frowned, turned to Kiernan, who was writhing in pain on the bed, and then said to the nurse.
"Give him so dicine for the pain. I must make a few calls to perhaps have him sent to a dical facility in higher-tier countries."
The nurse nodded, and as the doctor left to go to the other room, she placed Kiernan on a ventilator to help him breathe more easily and pumped the appropriate pain dication through his IV.
"Well… how bad is it?"
Kiernan asked while the pain dication slowly numbed the pain in his side.
"You'll get appropriate treatnt and be back on your feet in no ti!"
The nurse said with a slightly forced smile, as she didn't want to worry him, as it might worsen his injuries.
"Say to straight… I know my body better than everyone else. How serious is it?"
"…"
The nurse's smile froze over, and she then sighed before saying.
"You might be sent out of the country for better dical facilities. We don't have good enough dical facilities to treat your injuries to full health."
"Hmm, I see…"
Kiernan said, and closed his eyes with a sigh.
The nurse felt bad for the young man as his teammates were currently celebrating the victory by raising the championship trophy while he was here getting treatnt.
It was unfair for the hero who made that championship possible.
"Do you want a drink?"
She asked with a soft tone.
"Sure…"
Kiernan said and softly opened his eyes while the nurse left the infirmary to get him a drink from the nearby vending machine.
'Right… the reward… Interface.'
With a struggling thought, Kiernan summoned the holographic system screen right in front of him and reached out to press on inventory.
The inventory opened up, and he took out the strange black ball, which had an eye moving around like a real eye.
'What do I do with… this?'
Kiernan frowned, and he then looked at the moving eye, which imdiately stopped moving and looked straight into his gray eyes.
At that mont, the black ball cracked open, and a creature jumped out of it, landing on Kiernan's stomach.
"Ouch!"
Kiernan groaned in pain, and then a fluffy four-legged creature nuzzled his face with its wet nose. Its innocent eyes stared up at him.
It was a puppy.
The puppy's eyes were filled with curiosity and affection, and his beautiful fur was a really dark blue that was almost a shade of black.
"A dog… Fenrir."
Kiernan touched the dog's head gently, and he nuzzled his hand with his wet nose before wagging his tail happily.
"I've never had a pet before…"
Kiernan smiled as he kept petting his head. Fenrir laid down beside him contentedly, but his tail happened to smack him in the waist.
"Argh… that hurts…"
He groaned uncomfortably.
Fenrir looked up at him, his eyes filled with concern, and he then jumped to his feet, rushed to his side, and started licking his face.
"Mmh?"
Kiernan felt the wet tongue on his cheek and chuckled, but then sothing strange started happening as the previous pain began disappearing.
At first, he thought it was just the pain dicine doing its wonders, but then another holographic screen appeared in front of him.
