With the night sky stretching across New Rakuya's landscape, in a dimly lit hotel room, Kiernan lay in bed, snuggled under a blanket with a phone in hand.

After the incident in the infirmary, Julian was taken to Tiamut's Main Hospital to finish the treatnt, and it was very unlikely that he could even co to the stadium to watch the matches in person.

It didn't take long for news about Julian's condition to spread across social dia. They all expected the injuries to be the result of his fight against Thorsten.

The fact that he got attacked inside the infirmary never left the closed doors. It looked like the chairman was trying to cover up the exact truth.

However, after finding out what happened, the chairman was very much pissed off.

"It doesn't look like the people have much faith in the chances of Karuza High winning the championship."

Kiernan talked to himself as he scrolled through the comnts on social dia.

[CourtneyJ: Without Julian, Karuza High doesn't stand a chance against Montclair High!]

[LucaDan: Dang, I was excited for them potentially eting in the finals. It ans it will most likely be a battle between Zachary and Kiernan, but I really don't think Kiernan has any chance at victory]

[Threecole: Go Montclair High! Destroy that fraud, Kiernan!]

"Huh…"

Kiernan touched his cheek, where the sting of Zachary's slap still lingered.

'This will be the last night of the nationals, and tomorrow is the last day. The future of my martial arts relies on tomorrow.

'If I lose, that might greatly affect the faith I have in my martial arts. I do believe that my Iron Style is the strongest in the world, but if I lose tomorrow, that belief might be shattered.'

This kind of thought was a first one for him.

The beautiful martial soul shone inside him. It was sparkling as if it were a diamond with lights seeping through it. The lights were in the colors of athyst and blue.

It was one of the most beautiful souls in the world.

This might be the last night it would be shining like this.

'Sleep… fuck that.'

Kiernan closed the phone and tossed the blanket off him. He then stood up and made his way to the balcony.

After arriving at the cool night air, the wind blew against his dark-as-night black hair.

Honk! Honk! Honk!

The cars road far down in the streets, honking their horns in a cacophony of sound, and it felt like the city was truly alive.

It didn't matter that it was already night. The city never slept, it looked like.

From the balcony, he could see the stadium lights glowing in the distance. The do-like building was almost like the trademark of the city at this point.

It was possible to see the stadium from everywhere in the city.

"…"

Kiernan silently left the balcony, picked up his jacket from the chair, and left his room. He took the elevator to the front lounge and headed to the front door.

"Sir Kiernan, heading out this late in the night?"

The doorman smiled warmly at him and asked.

"Yes, Judd. Tell the coach, if he cos asking, that I'll be at the stadium."

Kiernan said.

"Do you need a ride? You're a high-value guest, and we can't afford anything to happen to you."

"Call a taxi, will you?"

Kiernan said.

The doorman nodded and pulled out his phone to call for a taxi. It was a brief conversation on the phone that ended with the doorman saying, "The taxi will be here shortly."

Kiernan nodded, and as the doorman opened the door for him, he stepped outside and waited for the taxi to arrive at the sidewalk.

The pedestrians walked past him. A few recognized him and asked for quick photos.

Since he had nothing else to do than wait, Kiernan nodded in response and took so photos with his 'fans' if they were one.

Ti slowly went by, and then a yellow-painted taxi rolled in front of the hotel.

Kiernan opened the door and sat on the back.

"Where to, sir?"

The taxi driver asked and looked at Kiernan through the front mirror. It didn't take long for him to recognize the young man.

It was a face that was plastered across billboards all over the town alongside other 'ultimate aces' of the nationals.

"Stadium, please."

Kiernan said.

"Right away, sir!"

The taxi driver pressed on the pedal, shifted gears, and drove off towards the stadium.

It was a very smooth ride, and it was very clear that the taxi driver had done this sa job for longer than Kiernan had been alive.

Kiernan looked out of the window at the passing streets, and marveled at so sights he hadn't seen before.

Clean, well-maintained streets with well-dressed pedestrians. It didn't have any signs of decay or neglect.

It wasn't like the streets of the Pirate Kingdom, which were always bustling with shady characters and crumbling buildings.

When the taxi stopped at so stoplights, he happened to see so billboards of the nationals and saw his own face staring back at him.

It felt awkward to him.

He rembered having to take so photos during his ti in the training village, as did the rest of the aces.

He didn't understand why, but now he realized that it was mostly for these billboards and advertisents.

The taxi moved again, and after so ti, it rolled to the front of the stadium and ca to a stop in front of the large, brightly lit entrance.

"Thank you."

Kiernan handed him so gold coins and left the taxi before heading straight to the entrance.

The taxi driver gasped, as he wanted to ask for an autograph, but as he had already walked away, he didn't bother to shout after him.

Instead, he drove off and left Kiernan all alone in the empty stadium, where the last matches of the second day of the nationals ended a few hours ago.

He put his hand on the door and pushed it open. The dark corridors were silent and eerie, but they didn't bother him as he walked down them.

Bang…

The door of the entrance closed behind him.
