[…]

Ti passed since Kiernan sent his question to Cold Shade. He hadn't received an answer yet.

'Well, it took so ti to answer to her. She must've stopped using her phone.'

Kiernan thought to himself, then stood up from the chair and approached the punching bag.

Bang! Bang!

He landed two quick jabs, making the punching bag swing back and forth with each hit.

'The strength of my punches has also grown stronger. It feels like my fists are made of steel. I'd like to do so sparring fights to see just how strong I am currently.'

While he had his thoughts, his phone vibrated on the desk.

'She must've answered back.'

He quickly grabbed his phone from the desk and opened the chat app.

[Cold Shade: It is difficult to tell. I don't have a need for that sword except for collection purposes. I am not a collector]

[…]

[Revenant: You can always sell it]

[Cold Shade: What do you want for it?]

'Hmm. I need 50,000 gold coins to use the lottery wheel, but I also don't want to be completely broke after using it. 60,000 would be a nice price. It would cover purchasing this sword and one spin of the wheel.'

However, he doubted that this sword could go for that much. It was pretty insane to even ask for.

'I have an idea.'

[Revenant: You can sell it, and we share the profits. Deal?]

[…]

[Cold Shade: You trust to split it fairly with you?]

[Revenant: Yes]

[…]

[Cold Shade: Fine. I'll visit my friends tomorrow. A few of them are weapon collectors. I don't think they have a sword of forgotten legend yet, so it might go for a good price]

[Revenant: Great, thank you]

'I hope it goes for a high price. I'll wait till she sells it to think about my next move.'

The conversation died off, and he doubted it would continue anymore. Therefore, he closed his phone, left it on the charger, and went to bed.

There were classes to attend tomorrow.

In a class of Montclair High students.

"I had a chance to talk with a few students from that other school. They're apparently Karuza High over from Irio!"

"Karuza High… Karuza High… You an the quarterfinalists of last year's nationals?!"

"I heard that their school burned to the ground. It is no wonder they ca here instead. It's a powerhouse school, after all."

"Does that an that person is here?"

"That person?"

"Yeah… Kiernan Hunter."

While waiting for their class to start, Montclair High students whispered among themselves.

Their school was never the strongest. They averaged 30th place in the nationals, and they had never reached quarterfinals before.

However, it had all changed drastically in the few months. They now had a powerhouse student among them—Zachary Lokiah.

They glanced behind at the student at the back. A tanned student with a confident grin. He was the driving force behind their newfound success.

"The winner of the nationals will be decided by those two. I haven't heard about Tiamut High having that strong of a school as last year. They were stronger than ever before because Johan Yeager, but this year, they'll have to fight hard to reach quarterfinals."

"Yeah, their win streak will end this year. It will be between Zachary and Kiernan. I wonder who will win…"

They tried to keep quiet with their discussions, but Zachary still heard them. He just laughed to himself and scoffed at their pointless discussions.

'Weaklings have nothing else to do than talk about who will win. These pieces of shit think that I might actually lose? How laughable.'

In the classroom of Karuza High students.

Since they didn't need multiple classrooms anymore, they had their very own auditorium-looking classroom that had about a hundred seats.

Over half of the seats were filled with students waiting for their class to start. The friends gathered among their own groups. Girls stayed mostly at the front rows, and the boys sat towards the back.

The door to the class opened, and Mrs. Jennifer walked in with a confident stride. She ca along with a few other teachers to continue teaching their students.

More than a few teachers chose to change schools since they didn't want to leave Irio and their hos behind because they had family to take care of.

"Take out your math textbooks and turn to page five."

The students took out their textbooks, put them on their desks, and flipped to page five.

'Hmm, math.'

Kiernan spun his pen around his fingers absentmindedly.

The math was his weakness. Well, almost every school subject was. He never went to the school back on Earth, so he didn't know anything about them.

Therefore, he paid extra attention in the class.

Mrs. Jennifer used chalk to write on the blackboard and asked for the answer from the students.

Luckily for Kiernan, she didn't ask anything from him because he would've certainly answered wrong.

"Psst, what's the answer on the eighth question?"

Julian whispered.

"Don't ask . I am more clueless than you are."

Kiernan said with a deep sigh.

"Damn…"

Julian scratched the back of his head. He hated math. It was annoying, and he doubted he would ever need it in real life.

The clock seemingly moved in slow motion. After a ti that seed like eternity, the school bell rang, and the math class ended.

With tired looks, students packed their textbooks and started heading out. A few decided to stay in the classroom.

Their next class—history class—was in the exact sa classroom, but it was fifteen minutes until then, and few of the students wanted to go get a breather outside the school building.

One student started racing back to the dormitory after he rembered that he forgot his history textbook back in his dorm room.

Ding! Ding!

At that mont, Kiernan's phone started vibrating in his pocket.

'Who…?'

Kiernan checked his phone and saw that he had received a ssage from the Martial Order chat app. It was from Cold Shade.

'Has she already visited her friends?'

Kiernan quickly stood up, stuffed his book inside his backpack, and slung it over his shoulder.

"Where are you going?"

Julian asked.

"I saw a vending machine on my way here. I am going to go get a drink."

"Buy one for ! Hot coffee, please, I am tired as fuck!"

Kiernan nodded and headed out of the classroom.
