December 18th, Los Angeles.
The atmosphere in Monterey Park had been tense for the past half month because of the escalating struggle between the two largest Chinese societies, Hongn Zhiqing Hall and Longhua Association.
After 10 p.m., almost all the shops on the streets of Monterey Park would close. If anyone was still walking the streets at this ti, and they were carrying weapons, there was no doubt they belonged to one of the two major societies.
During the past half month, there had been dozens of small-scale firefights between the two societies, each suffering losses. However, relative to each other, Zhiqing Hall had sustained greater losses because Longhua Association had a group of extrely high-quality gunn who had the advantage in small-scale skirmishes.
No one knew how long the struggle would last, and both sides had been restraining themselves, avoiding large-scale firefights. Additionally, each society had its own considerable influence among local governnt contacts, so the police had not yet intervened in their dispute.
...
Jiawei Avenue, inside a certain apartnt, mbers of Zhiqing Hall were gathering to discuss their plans.
"The ti has been confird," Lin Yun told everyone, "the day after tomorrow, at ten o’clock at night, they will send soone."
"That’s great!"
"This ti we’ll definitely kill those bastards!"
Everyone spoke excitedly. Zhiqing Hall had lost five bars, four nightclubs, three underground casinos, and an underground boxing arena recently. The financial loss was secondary, the real issue was the loss of face, which had left mbers of Zhiqing Hall feeling disgraced.
Although the White Reaper’s leader Henry had decided to cooperate with Zhiqing Hall, they had discussed the specifics of the cooperation for a long ti. Considering that Long Yu had brought his trusted n from the White Reaper, it was not so easy to turn them or set a trap. Therefore, it had dragged on until today, half a month later, for both sides to finally agree on a specific plan:
Zhiqing Hall would intentionally leak Lin Yun’s whereabouts to lure Long Yu into an assassination attempt, and then coordinate with the White Reaper’s informant to counter-kill Long Yu.
The plan seed simple, but was not easy to execute. They had to leak the information subtly without raising suspicion, and they had to ensure Long Yu would take the bait.
"Master Li, do you think Long Yu will co?" Lin Yun asked Li San for his opinion, as usual.
Li San thought for a mont, "Long Yu knows I’m with you, and given his personality, there’s a high chance he’ll take action personally."
At this stage of their conflict, without a large-scale firefight, assassination was indeed the most efficient thod.
If both Lin Yun and the high-level mbers of Zhiqing Hall were assassinated, the battle would be over, and Longhua Association would win without fighting. Presented with such an opportunity, it would be nearly impossible for soone like Long Yu, with his personality and abilities, to miss it.
Lin Yun smiled at Li San, "Of course, it’s best if the plan goes smoothly. But if anything unexpected happens, we may need Master Li to exert more effort."
Li San nodded, "Hall Master Lin, there’s no need for politeness; this is why I am here."
"Good."
Lin Yun looked at the others, "Get ready, everyone. The day after tomorrow, we’ll slaughter Longhua Association’s dragon!"
...
December 20th, 10 p.m., on the outskirts of Monterey Park.
Under the moonlight, nurous shadows appeared at the periter of a private farm.
Long Yu looked at the houses ahead, lit up in the night, and with a wave of his hand, his n charged forward.
The n, in groups of five, moved to different houses. They shattered the windows of the houses and crazily threw grenades inside!
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The silence was shattered; the sounds of explosions rose and fell, sending debris flying and flickering lights flashing within the houses.
After throwing a round of grenades, the n, guns in hand, rushed into the houses.
Long Yu didn’t follow them inside. Instead, he stayed outside with a few elite mbers, ready to provide support.
"Boss, there’s no one in the houses!"
In less than a minute, several gunn dashed out of a house, shouting to Long Yu.
"There’s no one inside!"
"We’ve got no one here either!"
More people erged from the houses shouting at Long Yu, and an uneasy atmosphere began to spread.
...
About a kiloter away from the private farm, Li San and a group from Zhiqing Hall stood on a small hill, looking towards the residential area not far away.
"Damn, they’re ruthless."
After seeing the exploding lights, Xiao Bai shook his white hair.
Holding a submachine gun, he fired towards the distance and roared, "All hands on deck!"
"Kill them all!"
Vroom! Vroom! Vroom!
The roaring of car engines sounded; over thirty vehicles that had been parked around the small hill were now all started, sweeping towards the farm from left and right.
The people on the hill also got into their cars and drove towards the farm.
Sitting in the car, Li San looked towards the farm and felt a bit sentintal.
Tonight, Zhiqing Hall had deployed over a hundred people, and with Long Yu’s internal informant on their side, it was the inford against the uninford, the many against the few, and it was all taking place in this relatively open area. Even if Long Yu was extraordinary, he couldn’t turn the tide.
The thought that Long Yu might die to a hail of bullets made Li San feel sowhat regretful; such a rare National Martial Arts Grandmaster would et his end not under punches but under gunfire.
"In the end, it was still because my own strength wasn’t strong enough," Li San thought to himself. "If I could have taken out Long Yu one-on-one, I might at least have given him a dignified death."
He then thought of Wu Li. He felt that if Wu Li were here tonight, he would definitely have wanted to challenge Long Yu to a duel.
One minute later, over thirty vehicles had surrounded the farm, all headlights turned on, illuminating the farm brightly in their direction.
Long Yu was very decisive, ordering everyone to break out in one direction as the sound of gunfire erupted.
Xiao Bai got out of his car and charged in valiantly with his n, shouting loudly as he ran, "Long Yu! You damn well are going to die here tonight!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Both sides quickly closed the gap and began to exchange fire.
The people of Zhiqing Hall surrounded them from all directions, while the Longhua Association fired back as they ran forward.
The farm was a vast field, with only a few buildings in the residential area providing cover. In this kind of environnt, a gunfight depended entirely on ntal fortitude and marksmanship!
People from both sides continued to fall; bullets danced through the air like the Grim Reaper’s scythe, recklessly harvesting lives.
Snap! Snap! Snap!
Following the sound of shattering glass, the headlights of several vehicles in the direction where the Longhua Association was breaking through were smashed, darkening that area.
Long Yu had brought over thirty people tonight, and now only about twenty were left, with more than a hundred ters to reach the vehicles of Zhiqing Hall up ahead.
A dozen gunn from Zhiqing Hall used the open car doors as cover, firing at the people from Longhua Association, trying to stop their advance. However, now that the headlights of four cars were broken, the darkness reduced their accuracy significantly.
As the people of Longhua Association were about to reach the vehicles ahead, Xiao Bai, furiously chasing from behind, shouted into the communicator, "The rest of you, hurry up and bring the cars over!"
He then yelled ahead, "Why the fuck aren’t you moving, what are you waiting for?"
He was calling out to the moles within Long Yu’s team. According to the original plan, these moles were supposed to open fire and block Long Yu and his n imdiately. This would not only demoralize the enemy and throw them into chaos but also buy ti for Xiao Bai and his n to encircle them.
But the moles that were supposed to act hadn’t shown any signs of movent yet, which infuriated Xiao Bai.
"Sothing’s not right," Li San said to Xiao Bai.
Xiao Bai turned to Li San and roared, "Long Yu is right in front of us, one charge from our guys and it’s over!"
After speaking, he fired towards the front while rushing forward.
But then, ten seconds later, a voice ca through the communicator.
"Brother Bai, soone’s coming!"
Xiao Bai paused, a sense of unease growing in him, "What?"
"There’s a convoy, a lot of cars!"
By this ti, they could already see the headlights of the vehicles in the distance, from all around—at least forty or fifty vehicles in sight!
Zhiqing Hall’s cars and n were gathering in one direction, while the periter was suddenly surrounded by the newly arrived convoy, just as they had surrounded the farm a mont earlier.
"Damn it!" Xiao Bai gritted his teeth, making an instantaneous decision.
"Keep charging, capture Long Yu, and break out!"
Just as Xiao Bai gave the order, a figure from Long Yu’s team had already dashed the hundred-ter distance, breaking through Zhiqing Hall’s line of fire and plunging into the crowd like a tiger among sheep. With a few casual moves, the figure instantly killed three gunn and then quickly crossed over a car to charge towards the next vehicle.
In just a few seconds, he alone had thrown Zhiqing Hall’s defensive line into disarray.
With the loss of the firepower ahead, the people from Longhua Association quickly ran forward. So reached the stopped vehicles and dove into the driver’s seats, intending to drive away and escape.
"We can’t let them go. Ram them with your cars!" Xiao Bai’s eyes were red with fury.
By now, other Zhiqing Hall vehicles had arrived from different directions. Hearing Xiao Bai’s order, four cars revved up to full speed and slamd into the ones ahead!
The hundred-ter distance vanished in a flash, the crowd scattered, dodging the incoming vehicles. A few were too slow and were run over by the wheels, while gunn crazily fired through the car windows.
If Longhua Association hadn’t co to help tonight, it would have been nothing but a massacre!
Boom!
Four cars that had just started were struck by four more that surged from behind, sending everyone in them into a dazed state.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Continuous collision sounds erupted as the surrounding convoy smashed into the scene.
Zhiqing Hall still had over twenty vehicles scattered around, now all targeted, as the vehicles from the outside aid specifically for them. With cars coming from all sides and nurous friendlies among them, Zhiqing Hall’s cars had no chance to dodge and were hit one after another.
After colliding, those inside the cars opened fire through the windows amidst the cacophony of gunfire, explosions, shouts, roars, and screams... Bullets flew and flas erupted.
In an instant, the farm beca akin to the bloody battlegrounds of Asura Hell.
After the vehicles impacted, enemy forces surged in like a tide, with people filling every direction as far as the eye could see.
Zhiqing Hall had over one hundred and fifty people, while at least two hundred from the outside had joined. Almost four hundred people were now clashing, fighting on this grassland, tangled in a brutal fray...
