When she got near the vicinity of Grandpa Mo’s cave, she slled the faint scent of blood in the air from a distance.
Alard, Ruan Qiuqiu sprinted the rest of the distance to Grandpa Mo’s ho. When she got there, she heard Little Mo Yu say, “Grandma, I really can’t eat anymore.”
The stone in her heart imdiately fell. Ruan Qiuqiu breathed a sigh of relief. She heard Little Bohe chiming in, “ too. I’m full, Grandma!”
Ruan Qiuqiu pressed the spot between her brow. What had happened in only one night for Little Bohe and the others to change their address for Qing Ruyu so quickly?
She walked forward. When she saw the over two ter-tall elephant bird carcass by their doorway, her expression almost cracked.
(T/N: Elephant birds are an extinct giant bird species that sowhat resembles ostriches.)
So when Qing Ruyi said she was leaving to go hunting yesterday, she had really gone hunting.
“Aiya, you’re all so thin. Your arms and legs are like twigs. You don’t even reach this elephant bird’s thigh. You have to eat more, and you, Mo Mao, you’re a half-demon. How can you not be able to eat 20 catties of at in one al?” That female voice contained the vicissitudes of life. It was completely different from Qing Ruyi’s voice yesterday.
Ruan Qiuqiu was sowhat surprised. A mont later, she saw a gentle, elderly woman, who was holding a cane made of a willow branch.
The old lady smiled at her. “Qiuqiu is here?”
Ruan Qiuqiu: “?” Who was this old lady?
Her expression looked too shocked. Qing Ruyi smiled so big that her eyes curved. “It’s only been one night. You forgot ?”
Ruan Qiuqiu tentatively asked, “… Grandma Ruyi?”
“Yeah, that’s .” Qing Ruyi raised her cane and tapped the elephant bird’s firm thigh. “Co here, Grandma will treat you to grilled bird at as an apology for yesterday.”
Ruan Qiuqiu was still stunned. She couldn’t adapt to how Qing Ruyi had changed so much from yesterday. Only a day had passed since she tried to kill her.
She questionaly looked at Mo Yu, and he responded with a beaming smile. He raised his half-eaten at skewer. He really couldn’t eat another bite. He happily said, “Older Sister Qiuqiu, you’re here. There’s still lots of grilled at inside. Co over here and eat with us!”
Ruan Qiuqiu: “…”
Even after Little Bohe had pulled her over and put a large skewer of grilled bird at in her hand, she still hadn’t quite recovered from her shock.
Qing Ruyi looked at the stunned Ruan Qiuqiu and said with a smile, “Eat up.”
Ruan Qiuqiu: “…”
She cautiously checked the grilled at for fiend energy using her spiritual energy. After she was sure there was nothing wrong with it, she took a small bite.
The taste of the grilled at was very good. It had been sprinkled with spices to cover up the slight gay taste. The at was fresh and tasted similar to chicken, but it had a more llow taste and was chewier.
Ruan Qiuqiu had been walking for a long ti, and she was hungry. By the ti she returned to her senses, she had finished off all of the at on the skewer. Since the portion on the skewer was huge, Ruan Qiuqiu was almost full after eating that.
When she was halfway through saying, “Thank you”, Grandma Ruyi took out several skewers of grilled at and said to her, “Eat one more skewer, eat 10 skewers. Grandma will grill it for you.”
Ruan Qiuqiu: “…”
In the end, Ruan Qiuqiu failed to et Grandma Ruyi’s expectations. She was stuffed after eating only two skewers of grilled at.
She noticed that as Qing Ruyi was feeding them like they were baby animals, Grandpa Mo was silently sitting in a corner.
There were circles under Grandpa Mo’s eyes. He seed like he hadn’t slept well last night, and he also looked younger than before. Although he still had a lot of wrinkles on his face, she could see now that he had been handso when he was young.
